@greenilizer - being on stage in front of 1000 people is a factor to consider. ALSO, this is the last 2 battles after several previous battles he had to win before even getting to this point....I think I was probably thinking the same thing at the time of the show, but I was asked to help organize it, and staff couldn't be contestants, conflict of interest. Illmac did a great job tho. It was fun to be there, especially on stage.
@alamoose1 Anaxo always had that kind of snotty attitude, but at that time in Portland, he had won more battle shows than anyone else. He was actually really pissed that he didn't win the show when it was all over. I think they were both finalists again at the next "DJ Zig-Zag presents Hip-Hop Tonight" show....and Illmaculate won that one too!!
@planet503 - Still to this day....no other Portland based person has put on a bigger show than DJ Zig-Zag's, "Hip-Hop Tonight" series, especially the one at the convention center. I'm proud to be the main reason why Zig-Zag even incorporated an "Emcee Battle" to his show (cuz he's not a "rapper" type guy). He came to a "Emcee Battle" show that my brother and I threw...then after the show he personally came up to me and asked me to host an "Emcee Battle" at one of his upcoming shows.
@cpogue19....You are right, it did get "unorganized"...but that's only because of "Jumbo" hogging the host spotlight. I'm almost 100% sure that he wasn't asked to host that spot, but did it cuz he thought he was the "Big Man on Campus" at that time (in Portland). That was supposed to be hosted by my brother (MaddHadda) and I (V!RTU). - That's why his "He's DISQUALIFIED" comment got over-ruled when my brother checked him on it; and "Jumbo" quickly apologized. I was on stage, I know.
@hiphopfreak31 - The guy who said that....his name is "Jumbo" (from the group "Lifesavas"). His group was the most established in Portland, Oregon at that time. He had been on tour and even worked with some well known artists; so he had status in Portland in 2001. You can tell by his attitude that he wasn't showing genuine love to the show as a whole. So even though "Jumbo" did some impressive things in his time, Illmaculate has definitely out-shined him in the long run.
What's the instrumental @ 7:25?
