  • This is a beautiful piece. Oh these purists with their no scissors, no glue. Who cares. It's still a work of art. Would I want to sell something that's going to fall apart? No.

  • tumbs up if you stop the music a 0:10

  • THe first four papers putting together was very easy, but the fifth I could not do it until now !

  • Man I wish I could make this but I'm running out of paper

  • @BringerofTruth then perhaps u should find another profession besides origami if u say that 30 pieces is way to much...

  • I gave up at 0:22

  • is it easier if you first put the the 6 units together (so you get 10 flowers) and then start assembling them?

  • 60 PIECES!!! ARE YOU NUTS!!!!

  • easier way: crumple up a piece of paper, done.

  • Hiya! I made this, but it keeps falling apart. How on earth(mars, venus, saturn, jupiter and pluto) can you make it not fall apart without glue or tape ?

  • how do you assemble the last piece without making it collapse? Please respond!!

  • If you did make it "hurricane proof", would it take 60 modules or 120? BTW, I've made a lot of your modular origami, and all I can say is, they are amazing.

  • that crazy ball is really cool^^

    i like it^^

  • hey i no how to make that u just cruple a peace of paper into a ball ^-^

  • Hi barbabellaatje,

I need your help please. Ive managed to make all the modules and the five ring star. the only problem is I'm not able to assemble it. In your video it just show's up to the part where you extend the star with the 5 pieces of paper and next scene the ball is half constructed. Could you perhaps explain it or if you have a video slowly showing how you assembled it. Thank you

  • cudnt even get passed one unit... i feel like such an epic fail!! haha

you have more patience than me.. i bet its quite theraputic when you know what youre diong :)

  • just crumble a paper and it will look just like this

  • Why the fuck do people complain and/or act surprised that this piece requires several units? It's called modular origami AND it's a freakin kusudama, which are almost always at least 30 units! This piece is obviously for true origamists, who ENJOY taking the time to assemble such a puzzle.

  • @BringerOfTruth123 they are 13 year old boys with ADD

  • @picaticatara lmao. Too true.

  • @BringerOfTruth123 AND everyone goes all "OH JUST CRUMBLE A PIECE OF PAPER". IT LOOKS FUCKING DIFFERENT -___-

  • can i make it with lesser pieces (the 5ring) than you?

  • i can make that *crumble a peice a paper into a ball*

  • as soon as i saw it i went to....well something tht does not make u go to sleep

  • guess who has a new paper snowball??? let's see, i've tried to do 5 of these tutorials and i got a half finished pentagonal box, a ripped rose, and 10 different paper snowballs! :D

  • wen i looked at the small pic of that and was like easy scruch up apiece a paper done but wen i put it on i was like o

  • it would help me if you showed us how to make them from the start man :(

  • hey i can make 1 in 3 seconds!!!

  • but how many pockets do i need to do???????????

  • After 3.5 hours, I finally did it. :)

  • Is it a crumbled up ball?

  • DUDE CAN U ATLEAST ECPLAIN IN SPEAKING CUZ I GOT STUCK ON PUTTING IT TOGETHER!

  • when's the part when you go to sleep?

  • you lost me at 00:00

  • thumbs up if you gave up at: ''the module is really easy to do!, you'll need 60..''

  • hah, you lost me at 1:30

  • I bet that Dodecahedron Kusudama is japanese for "impossible"

  • If we ever become invaded by aliens just throw a bunch of theese at them, they'll be so amazed that they'll never bother us again!!;D

  • Dear barbabellaatje, I am looking to do some DIY decorations for my wedding and really want to do an origami theme. I saw when you finished, this kusudama ball was about the size of a cantaloupe. What size origami paper did you use for this model?

  • @MeganSargeant Hi! Luckily I read your comment... I get so many I can't read - let alone answer - all anymore. In the video I used 9x9 cm memo block paper (1inch being 2.54 cm) ; ) Good luck!!

  • @barbabellaatje Well then I am honored to have caught you at the right time! Thanks so much for a helpful video and a quick reply! Can't wait to start folding!

  • so easy crumple papers together lol

  • Thumbs Up If You Noticed The Music Repeated Itself Exactly 4.23 Times, Another Thumbs Up If You Watched The Whole Video Over Again Just To Prove Me Wrong.

  • i liked the part when he folded the piece of paper

  • idiot music!!!

  • How is it possible to put them together without using glue!!!? I'm struggling with it for so many hours!!!!!! Congratulations! Your job is awesome!

  • what's up with the 'Star Wars' captions?

  • "it's so easy, you need 60 of these" it would have been so random if this person had an easy button after done saying, "that was easy"

me right now: *confused because it being hard but easy* @_@

  • Gracias por la enseñanza, hermoso trabajo

  • is it possible to make a lamp out of these? :D

  • kind of looks like you just picked up a paper ball out of the bin

  • Hi. Pleasze watch my origami videos to. Thanks. Great vid. :D

  • Mmm... Scrumpled pieces of paper that look like cabbage.

  • Safe certified origami fudamentalist? Isn't that the BOS logo you've borrowed?

    What does it mean anyway?

    Yours

    Dave Brill

  • @vallebird The Dave Brill I take? Anyhow you would be amazed how many freaky responses I receive about the use of scissors or glue, that apart from the usual insults and the occaisional death threat - just another day online! ; )

  • @barbabellaatje

Yes, it's really me. Although no doubt an impostor would say that too. I dont want to threaten or insult you, honest.

Maybe you'd prefer to talk by email: please check my website for contact info.

  • I just used glue >...> BTW How long have you been doing origami?

  • i fold it =D

  • Nice, but how big is the paper..?

  • Boah krass, ich krieg das Ding nicht zusammen, die einzelnen Sekmente schon, aber sie zu ner Kugel zusammen zu stecken klappt einfach nicht *grummel*

Very dificult, but when you get it it looks great

  • This is a nightmare to assemble.

    Trust me.

  • wow es verdaderamente dificil!!!!

  • @barbabellaatje there is no high quality

  • Awesome

  • prove it.

  • great job but I think I would have been kinda better with some speaking...great though!

  • sweet

  • I prefered to make all the 5 petal models, and them in the end put them all together^^

  • lol origami soccer ball, but wow that thing is big nice vid =D

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you so much for all your great origami videos! I think they're kind of the best ones you can get here. They're well explained and I really like the models. How about trying something (even) more challenging one day? (;

However, keep up the good work and cheers.

  • so u make 60 modules and put two together(if you want to be an origami purist) on all of them for 30 modules made out of two pieces of paper. Right?

  • Indeed!

  • thank you i am halfway through at the moment :p

  • I've been watching your videos and I have to say that you certainly make fantastic pieces! I'm a beginner as of now (I just caught the origami fever haha). I think I'm not read for this type of project yet, but hopefully...soon... Btw, what do you do with these things after you're done making them?

  • i know you were asking him but sometimes i sell the stuff i make :P

  • I give it away... ;)

  • hey barbabellaatje, what is is your favorite kusudama model?

can you put a description link? thanks, your videos are great.

  • Not a single one... so many when I make a vid it is one of my favs ;)

  • i made the one that u said was a lot of hassle

  • congrats !!

  • i did it

  • congrats!! ;)

  • Very nice, but .. IT'S REALLY NOT EASY TO GET! O_o

  • si es verdad jaja

  • how much of each things do you need.

  • Ohhh. So does that mean you can do either modules.

  • If you mean the double or the single module the answer is yes... only the locking is a bit different as you can see in the vid

  • Comment removed

  • would be a waste of all that effort ;)although the model is quite strong... a real foot ball is also not a dodecahedron (12x 5 ring) but a truncated icosahedron (5 rings surrounded by 6 rings).

  • so u would need 12 squares and 12 flower thingys over each square??? =S

  • just 60 squares will do O_o

  • uum how many sheets do you need? 60?

  • yep, 60 squares

  • the first impression was - holly god! real roses! :-D stellar thing! i will try!

  • "module is really easy to do" you will need 60... LOL.i love it. thanks! :D

  • Hi, what's the measure of those papers that you make models from?

  • 9x9 cm memo block paper squares ;)

  • i can make one of those 2 just crumble up paper :P lol joking it was awsome

  • MUHAHAAAHAAA!!!!!!! I HAVE FINALLY FIGURED THIS OUT!!!!MUHAAHAAHAAAA!!!! i finally understand how to put it all together :) thanks for the help! ;)

  • i need help :( i dont understand 1:07 its too hard after that but i know im doing the rest all right ughhhh can someone post another vid thats slower for dummys like me???

  • missgeburt

  • wow, the stop-motion at the beginning looked sooooooo real! awesome video too! 5/5

  • excellent video barbabellaatje. i've made few models need to cut all the squares but i know i'll make it! =} thanks

  • you are welcome! but why not buy one of those square memo blocks ;)

  • umm what does high quality mean?

  • This as most other vids is best viewed in "high quality" by clicking on "watch high quality" just below the vid screen on the right o_O

  • i posted up a reply before, but i dont think it got posted, so ill retype it:

i dont understand the part where you combine the giant stars together.how are you supposed to connect a giant star with another giant star?

and also, you said in a reply that you use 30 "double modules" and 10 modules for every giant star. in a dodecahedron, you need 12 stars,so, wouldn't that mean that you need 120 pieces of origami paper to do the entire thing???

  • Nooo ...you construct the ball out of 30 double modules the giant star is just a step in the process, you do not make 12 of these. You simply keep on putting double modules to your "giant star". Hope that helps ;)

  • its very good

  • i have never tried modular origami that has more then 6-12 pieces before...but this is preeeeeeeeeeeeeeetyyyy.....SO ITS WORTH IT :D

  • Excellent!

  • i dont understand how u put all the giant star-like things together, how many of those do u need when making the hard way without glue?

  • In all cases you need 12x5 so 60 modules the only difference is in how you put them together. A "giant star" see 3:27 consists out of 10 modules but you don't make 6 of these first as that will not work. You construct the model using 30 "double modules" as shown at 3:00. Hope that helps ;)

  • thats AMAZING. if i could, i would rate this 84. thks for the video!

  • ok well i finshed it and turned it in and it turned out great ty gonna boost my japanese grade up i hope tyty

  • ur welcome!! :D

  • This one is pretty too!! Will try and fold this model sometime soon!! :) Though I think assemble looks a bit problematic in this case :D

  • also forgot to mention this is my first time doing origami lol

  • very good! post a vid when you're done ;)

  • all i got was 6 pictures which were needed and i had to give to teacher lol

  • well im half way done with it but i suggest u use normal origama paper cause i decided to use shiny origami paper which isnt 2 thick but ur right nothing i could use help with TY

  • thanks gonna do for my cpr japanese project message me cuase i could use some help

  • help with what? diagrams are linked in the vid description and for italian translation you can use babelfish ;)

  • Oh my this looks like an evil model to assemble even though the modules are easy. I'll have to try one in my spare time...Thanks!!

  • yep, very similar issues as per assembling an SPD ;)

  • mind spinning, but interesting aaaaaaaa kusudama. by the way,to which country this art belongs????????

  • Originally china & japan, these days also very good designers from many other countries. Believe Enrica Dray is Italian ;)

  • duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude it is great!!!!! I doing one right now!!

  • Good luck ! :D

  • HOLY!!! O_O

  • man amazing. I'm an amiture I just finished making a brocade it was fun!

  • ESTA GENIAL

  • i want to make one for my mommy but i cant its too hard!

  • Making without glue is very hard...jyst give your mom a double lilly instead or an icosahedron curler which are relatively easy ;)

  • its actauly best not to use glue but lil sticky squares double sided i forget wat there called lol

  • Bravo!! :P Awesome!! ;)I try Itttttt!!! :P
