the 400 is bigger and makes a little more torque and power,but the 250 has six gears and wieghs a little less. stock vs stock...in the woods...i'd say the rider would make more difference over the performance differences in the bikes. on road...the 250 can cruise comfortably at 70 mph while the 400 is reving pretty hard.
