I find when I bench shoot its way easier for me to run the bolt left handled for some reason. I love my 91/30. I am going to pick up a hex exdragoon in a week or 2 off a local guy that has a crate that just came in.
I love my mosin. My brother and I were hitting 500 yard steel plates with iron sights pretty easily. He hit the 600 yard plate a few times. They are amazing guns for $100!
@orng1 "Nagants" don't have a bolt being that they're a revolver. Mosin Nagants on the other hand do. Once you clean it out good, do a little polishing and get the cosmoline out they're pretty smooth.
haha i liked it when u threw that gun. fuck this mosin im gonna throw it!! fuck balls tits. god damn to get my mosin to reload i have to slap the bolt like i slap my russian mail order bride!! haha jkjkjk she can beat me up and has a beard
@SpartanMonkee over 1000 yds if you have a quality build and you're a good shooter. there are plenty of vids on here of people shooting their PU 91/30's at 1k yds.
Guys I have a question I have Tula 1938 M91/30 but the finish on the stock is badly damaged the stock itself look likes it has seen some use but no major dents and dings. I can't tell if the finish is original or a TERRIBLE refinish. Should I refinish it? I really would like to bring the beauty back to this reliable old rifle.
@SamHagagaga With your logic calling it a "Mosin" would be just as incorrect. The entire correct designation doesn't need to be said everytime. Everyone knows what it is, if it really bothers you I suggest you don't watch the video.
@cwbyfan223 There isn't another gun called a "Mosin", therefor it's okay to called a Mosin Nagant a Mosin. There IS another gun called a "Nagant", so it's completely incorrect to call a Mosin Nagant a Nagant.
@huntwithairguns I never said it was the correct designation, but EVERYONE knew what he meant. And still, calling it a "Mosin" is no more correct than calling it a "Nagant" it is just a matter of convenience when distinguishing between a rifle from the Mosin Nagant family and the Nagant revolver. They're both equally wrong in comparison to the proper designation so why get in an argument over which wrong term is better? Is calling a S&W a "Smith" any better than a "Wesson"?
@cwbyfan223 Apparently you didn't comprehend my post. If someone says Mosin it cannot be confused with a different gun, everyone knows what it is. If someone says Nagant then anyone with any knowledge of these type of firearms will automatically think of the revolver, not the Mosin Nagant. Referring to a Mosin Nagant as a "Nagant" is not correct whatsoever.
@huntwithairguns I own both a Nagant revolver and multiple Mosin Nagants. I was not confused. Neither was anyone else with "any knowledge of these types of firearms." Unless you are literally blind there would be no trouble whatsoever distinguishing between which weapon he was refrencing. Both are wrong. End of discussion.
GunWebsites, please stop calling it a "Nagant". A Nagant is a firearm all in itself. If you want to shorten the name just say "Mosin". That's just a pet peeve of mine...
@cwbyfan223 Just some added info - The M91/59s are cut down 91/30s, so they still have the 2000 meter rear sight. Usually the numbers past 10 on the rear sight blade are milled off though to render it a 1000 meter sight.
@GunWebsites Have you done a video on how to pick out a good mosin? It seems like there was a large fluctuation in the quality control of these rifles when they were being made, but I'd like to have one.
@Survivalist31 It probably has a really bad bore and/or crown. Most T53s look like they've been used as fence posts in a rice paddy. It is possible that it has a very wore out bore so it needs larger diameter bullets. You will have to slug your bore to find out how bad it is. Good luck.
I love that version of the nagant. my father has one with hammer and sickle markings on the barrel behind the rear sight post, side folding black bayonet too. It is SWEET
2 pins and a few taps and you can slide the rear sight off. What's under is really similar to 3/8 dovetail for mounting. You can easily and quickly put it back on, no biggie.
@greatsharkman He inset a camera view on the target and the audio is not perfectly matched up so it sounds like it shoots twice, but he only shot it once.
@huntwithairguns My gun doesn't like it, It absolutely loves brass cased stuff though. The steel cased stuff doesn't shoot nearly as good as any of the brass cased ammo in my mosin.
i have a 91/30 and love it.My advice to everyone is buy these things while they are still cheap!I remember when the sks was 69 bucks! now they are 200-300 bucks!
Just wanted to say! the Winchester white box ammo is made in Russia
good stuff for the m-44 or t-53 good soft point for hunting.
and is good brass for reloads that is what i use.

I'm a newb, no need to argue. Thanks for the history lesson. I need to look up the revolver now.

You will likely get better accuracy with the bayonet attached. The nagants were weighted for use with it.

Don't call the Mosin Nagant a "Nagant."
You wouldn't call an AR-15 a Stoner, would you? Especially since there's a weapon that he designed called a Stoner.
