  • The amount of views on lockpicking videos has skyrocketed... Skyrim may just be why you're here, probably why I am :D

  • @vish1337 my experience went up from this. I'll take sleight of hand, thanks!

  • conseguiiii

  • U may be able to " scrub" a cheap cylinder like this one , but its not this easy on locks made outside of china that cost more than a Big Mac . gives the locksmiths who do a 3 day course some fake knowledge thats its all this easy ...... been locksmithing over 25 years and just wish every cylinder was that easy. You done well though

  • raking with a hook hahahaahh :)

  • @maxlose It's a 'Half diamond', not a hook pick!

  • @jaydorner oh sorry the camara is so bad and on the first i thought that was a hook

  • @jaydorner did the lock have no spring tention, also may i ask why do you apply the tension wrench in the top profile groove?

  • Does anyone seen a vid on youtube of someone picking a europese door lock or something? cus im not really intressed in american locks wich have a really big keyhole that anyone can pick.. i mean in europe the keyholes and sooo tight and the tension wrench almost cant fit in cus the key hole also isnt straight soo really wayy harder to pick ... pm me if you know a good vid

  • good video

  • Wow u a pro

  • @crazybalony turn the tension wrench clockwise and counter clockwise b4 trying to pick the lock. which ever way has more give is the direction to put more pressure on while picking

  • Ware do you get lock picks?

  • interesting technique, never seen anyone put the tension tool at the top by the pins, going to try the technique u used. i like how delicately u pick it

  • hey, how do you know what side to turn to create tension on the tumbler?

Some are clockwise and some are counter-clockwise? which is which? and how to know?

  • how would you pick a lock where the lock is at a horizontal? its hard to explain, umm if you were using a key with the lock im talking about you would have to insert the key sideways in order to unlock the lock...how would you pick this kind of lock if you get what i mean.

  • That would no doubt be a 'Dimple' type lock. Principle is the same but the picking technique is different. Look at out Mul-t-Lock opening vids and you'll see what I mean.

  • Easy lock, considering you only had to rake the pins.

  • It's only a 'Bird' cylinder and these are easy to open. Hence "Picksing a BASIC 5 pin cylinder".

  • jay what are ERA night latches like to pick? getting my set soon been pissing about with homemade 1s not the best tho

  • ah ok so a half-diamond.. lol I thought since you raked it that you would use the C-Rake or S-Rake lol alright. Nice work.. I like to pick each tumbler up individually

I have a SouthOrdance 20 Piece lock pick set.

  • Nice work..

Is that a S Rake Pick?

  • It's a 'Diamond' end pick.

  • when you put the tension wrench at the top of the keyway...how far do you put it in? like where would you stop?

  • where would you get such tools? i want to know.

  • i would try "getting such tools" from the internet? thats my first place i search for things to buy that isnt carried in the local wal-mart.

  • you can always make your own

  • Putting the tension 'wrench' at the top of the keyway allows for more room to scrub the pins. If you use a tension 'wrench' at the bottom you have to use one with a little more width, and this can restrict access to the pins causing 'overlift' when you insert the pick of choice. Theres no right or wrong though, as you always have to adapt your techniques and tools to suit the lock being picked.

  • lol this is not fake im studying this year to become a locksmith and this is one way to pick the lock

  • scrubing is what raking has been called for years it has only been called raking for a few years you fool

and also you are illiterate the word is amatures not amitures :D

  • actually eldiego....locksmiths for years have been calling the technique scrubbing..

Just recently re-named to raking.. after the rake pick..

talk to any old-timers and they will call it scrubbing.

  • he used the scrubbing technique.

  • 2 much pressure

  • Not too much pressure! The tension tool has a 'twist' in it to allow for a more controlled and a lighter touch use of the tool. Look at the tool closely and you will see this. The tool also has a slight bend in it to make it off-set from the door frame, and this can make the tension tool appear to be having too much tension applied, only very light pressure is applied.

    Jay.

  • wow that looked hard...not

  • Diden't see it open, only spin! Maybe ya might of picked it backwards?! Nice easy action anyway!

Check out my vid "Schlage spinner" B-)

  • Forgot to say (if ya haven't seen my vids) small dimond is my favorite!

Very nice, hope to see more vids from ya!

  • I love this so much

  • raking is easy enough to get on the first try,. depending on the high low key combonations. some are harder then others. some pop open just putting in a pick of damn near any sort and applying a little tension. good job with the moving of the tension wrench to the top I do that a lot myself especially on smaller keyways.

    nice video

  • wow is raking easy enough to get on the first try?

  • can you tell me which tool you used to rake the lock with? it looks like a diamond pick but not sure, thanks

  • is there a reason you put tension on the pin side?

  • By putting th tension wrench at the top it gives you more room to pick without the risk of overlifting pins.
