  • @planetfullofcunts YOU RAISE SOME MERITOUS POINT THAT INDEED HAVE VALIDITY BUT, WHY IN THE HELL DO WHITE PEOPLE, POOR OR RICH NEED 3RD WORLDERS AROUND THEM? THIS IS BULL SHIT! OUR FEABLE MINDED WOMEN MIX WITH THEM. THE POOR WHITES HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL WITH THEM. WHAT IN THE HELL DO 3RDD WORLDERS HAVE TO OFFER 1ST WORLD COUNTRIES? I'LL TELL U WHAT, NOTHING! IT DON'T TAKE A VERY SMART WHITE MAN TO REALIZE THAT. IF YOU FILL A 1ST WORLD COUNTRY "WHITE" WITH NON WHITES, IT WILL BECOME A 3RD WOR

  • how money changes everything

  • IT LOOKS LIKE THE WHITE MAN IS BEING REPLACED IN EUROPE BY 3RD WORLD IMMIGRATION...

  • Racist spirit of english people, i'm white and british and poor - and i'm not racist and rich, stop being a BBC victim (Victim syndrome) minorities or colour has nothing to do with poverty poor people should stick together then maybe we might stand a chance of getting out of poverty and stop fighting each other WE all deserve the right to pull out of poverty. merro84

  • After having lived there for 1 year I think

Its all due to the a strong racist spirit of english people ,

They dont care if minorities are satisfied or not ,

They may even feel happy when seeing others suffer as they have always done for many centuries ,

Do as black americans have done in 1960s civil rights movement and burn it on them !

  • Unless there is a legitimate reason why these people cannot work, they should get a job. I have worked as a cleaner to pay the bills. The government does not owe people a living.

  • Enjoyed that, they touched on some difficult issues that were handled well.

The key problem IMO is the expensive nature of housing. Instead of giving everybody higher wages which would cripple our competitivity we could instead lower fixed costs such as housing so that our wages purchase more. The effect is the same as a wage rise.

  • Glad this focused on Tower Hamelts. Back in the '80's, the point was raised that with the money of Canary Wharf to the south, and the affluence of the City of London to the west of the borough and all the depravation (I won't call it poverty) in between, it was bound to fuel resentment. The LDDC and government said 'RUBBISH!. Well, this programme has answered that question. I live in Newham, and have to say that whilst I agree there is depravation, I cannot accept there is real poverty.

  • Excellent article on a subject rarely discussed, least of all by the government. As a Jobseekers Allowance claimant myself, I've always felt slightly on the edge of society and "under the radar". Everybody knows that when Margaret Thatcher was in power there were three million unemployed. Does anyone know what the figure is now? Hmm..

  • true i think the poor espescially in london tend to be ignored and kept under the blanket.

  • Wahey! more money for everyone makes more sense than anything else. More economic growth and prosperity over social control and policing

  • its good to see that the people you approched where very open. it gives us a very clear understanding on the issue.

  • This video is very good in understanding the factors of why London is populated with poor people. This video contains adequate information such as half a million people are paid an average of £7.00 an hour and £130,000 people in london have to claim unemployment benefits.

  • Good job! Not many would be so forthcoming if you guys hadn't approached these people and getting their opinions across with their issues.

  • I am glad WORLDbytes found people to talk about this issue. Many would be ashamed or unwilling to talk about their financial health, but the truth is that we need to understand it better before we can make changes. This was well done.
