maybe once huminaty stops the greed, hatered, and finds out the possabilitys maybe before its too late. can you imagine 200 years from now, what we will know? folks we need to stop worrying about oil and getting rich. we need to look more deeply into the sky as people not, different country's.
@Pillowpants8495 Ok, so... by that logic, the discovery of Mars never held any relevance because we couldn't get there at the time. Bit short sighted. I mean, what ever happened to appreciating knowledge for it's own sake?
No doubt our priorities shouldn't be catching up on the latest gossip of Lindsey Lohan, but I think I have a good explanation why people don't get as excited about Kepler's discovery. The Americas were discovered by humans actually setting foot on them. It still remains almost incomprehensible how we'll discover the means to visit alien worlds. We can only peer from afar. But I say this monumental challenge should only ignite our deepest ambition and hope! We won't go out without trying!
Education should be our priority. NOT celebrities and sports. With a population that is scientifically literate and mathematically inclined then the sky is the limit. I also find fundamentalist religion to be a hindrance on technological advancements. It is not a question of are there earth-like planets out there, but how many. Truly fascinating stuff. However more people are only interested in the Kardashians or other nonsense.
I read about it in the physicsworld magazine. You're right, it's mind-blowing. The human race has amazing potential, we need to push it as far as it can go.
we're the most important thing in the universe... to us.
Barely evolved apes prioritize big boobed celebs over even the biology that could keep them alive long enough to travel to these planets. Focus on meeting our needs first, and the science that could help us do tha, then do the travel malarkey - if only because if we meet our needs we'll be better at exploring.
The spirit of discovery didn't drive the search for the Americas. The quest for gold, slaves, trade routes, farm land, etc, did. People escaped their conditions to live in those lands, where social class was less solid and there was ample land to grow crops. When we can do that on a planet light years away, this'll be as important to a hungry disease-ridden ape as the colonization of the Americas. Until then, focussing on solving the suffering of this ape should be highest priority for said ape!
@unassumption I agree with this. I did this video a while ago and if I did it again I would add in an explanation that I wasn't implying space travel should be our top concern, but that I wish all science and technology were reported on more so that people could have a chance to develop more of an appreciation for it. This, I feel, would help with many of the problems we face on this world. The Kepler discovery being overshadowed just happened to be the one that sparked my rebuke.
totally agree. This news should have been far larger than it was. Potholer54 and anubis2814 have lots of videos on the way the media distorts science, worse than just not covering it IMO. But given the news doesn't inform but distracts even on Earthly matters of politics and the economy I guess it's all we can expect - a recent TYT video (Local News = Uninformed Americans) compared the coverage for the debt ceiling bill pointless celebrity news, it got far less airtime.
it's an unfortunate chicken and egg problem. If people aren't informed or interested in the method and lore of science, they won't know what stories are phoney overblown hype, that when shown to be false (what's reported, not what's found) discourages people from science itself. Misinformed people don't create a demand or pressure for more, better science news, and the kind of science news that will sell will be the kind that misinforms people on science. A viscous cycle :(
@dannypantsgm It's the viewers that shape the news, not the other way around. The reason they report on Lindsay Lohan's every burp and fart is because that's what gets ratings. Science has to compete with pop culture for attention of the PUBLIC. The news media will follow wherever the ratings are. The good news is that it seems to be gaining ground, albeit very slowly. 10 more Neil deGrasse Tysons touring the country, getting people fired up about science literacy might help.
Nature has evolved us to be smart enough to know that to continue as a species, we must move out of our solar system someday, because of our Sun's finite life span. (not just to the moon or mars)
I wish we had a red Sun, they explode/implode (live) longer. After all it was a sun gone supernova in a past system (with life?) that sparked ours into existence.
our sun's finite lifespan is far longer than the lifespan of most species. we'll be wiped out long before the sun burns out. I for one don't care, because I, everyone i care about, my civilization, and likely most of my genes, be dead long before the species is wiped out let alone the earth let alone the sun.
didnt any think about what other advance countries like China, Japan or even Russia has discovered ? i mean, come on we all know about NASA's moon landing, and their discoveries on Mars. but what if Japan had already found out more about mars or even made contact with Aliens
We're too busy trying to deal with the mess we've ended up making of THIS world, what the fuck would the average person in our civilizations want with another one? haha. It would be a sign of hope for me if more people actually did care. It's like we're becoming more and more stagnant. First we wanted adventure, now we're just trying to survive.
I think eventually scientists will break some laws of physics or at least bend them so bad that we'll be able to get to the stars. One can only hope, but yes, I think exploration should definitely be a high priority, I think they need to make an engine to even GET probes to other solar systems within a few hundred years before we can seriously think about traveling there with a manned system. Even so, those efforts need be made, else the human race....is doomed (whether now, or down the road.)
The points that Danny raises are one reason why I have become profoundly pessimistic about our long-term future. We are smart enough to master our environment, but not smart enough to preserve and sustain it. We are smart enough to largely prevail against the factors that limit most populations of organisms, but not smart enough to control our numbers. We are smart enough to imagine, but not smart enough to rise above superstitious beliefs.
i knew all about this, and it excited me. thanks for pointing this out brotha...my opinion why the media did not cover it as much as that coke head pathetic excuse for an actress is because...the government does'nt want people asking to many questions. they dont want us knowing there chances of other life are more that .1% possibe. because we might go "wait a minute, god said nothing about this, is god even real". then the gov and the church start loosing control.
...months later and inspite of a tendency to have change two of my PCs still have Kepler release images as backgrounds.
I share your perspective, and excitement... One eventual outcome of this study will be the realization that we are not special, that the universe abounds with other sentients..That'll be a coffin nail for the relgions focused on a special status..
You know what I think? Yes,Exploration is important and all,but we shouldn't waste our entire time searching for new lands, and instead, understand that this is the only life we'll have,We should be having fun! Entertainment comes first.
@alismouha That's a valid point of view. I had actually meant to include other breakthroughs in this video and not just space exploration but I forgot. But I would agree that enjoying life is at least as important as progress if not more. I suppose part of it is my distaste at those who enjoy celebrity gossip over what I like. Shallow perhaps, but then again, this is my soapbox. : )
i dont agree. we can have fun, sure. but our children shoold be fild with hope and wonder about exploration and whatnot. this is not about us, afterall..
Most common humans want to be part of something bigger than themselves. They also want to be loved by their peers for any of their achievements; more than they want to achieve.
They idolize celebrities because they are often born with what leads them to fame and success, be it good looks, charisma, money, or something else.
Science though is difficult. And the rewards often come in the form of more unanswered questions, and a feeling of desolace within the grand scheme of the universe.
I fear for the star going future. That we may sow seeds of cultural ideals so extreme they could not live among us. A planet named Gaza, Tel Aviv, New York and Tehran. Sectors named Allah and Jesus. And when these cultures of diametrically opposed views come into contact again it will be the history of Earth wars all over again. I hope we can resolve our differences before we expand into space.
I've been playing too much damn Halo recently; but all I can think of is the (impossible) idea of faster than light travel (impossible) and exploring the cosmos. Much like Carl Sagan...hopefully we don't run into the Covenant. Yeah, should lay off on the Halo methinks.
Thank you for an excellent video. I, too, am facinated by life and discovery wherever it takes us. Ironic, though, we look "out there" for life, when I wonder if we can find "life" right here on our planet with justice, equity, peace? When will we discover that new frontier? Is there one society on this sad blue planet where we have found that? The Christians among us turn to "God" for their hope. Science turns upwards and outwards as well, it seems. When will we discover humanity?
Reflect on the rise and fall of great civilizations- Rome comes to mind (as an american compairison) how in just a couple hundred years Roman power dominated the known world (America's rise to domance is just as metoric) but the consequences of such access to power, money, and amenities half of the world doesnt even have access to - yet we (the american we) are continually obsessed with fame, wealth and who obtained such oppulance as to rival Caligula and ironically more public support
I'll tell you what happened. People are stupid. Purposly ignorant. They much rather be watching stupid ass lohan being the bitch she is because they dont have to think about anything. But the moment they go on Science channel or sumthin like that, they have to think to understand what they are watching, and the fucking morons dont like it. This is why almost 1 cared bout Kepler. They dont want to think. Fucking ignorant a-holes should be hit with a freaking book.
And some Justin Bieber video is the most watched on youtube. It really is true that the average human is closer to a chimp than to the outliers of their own species.
You should point out Kepler has only found 15 worlds, not 1200+ or just say "potential worlds" there's a big difference, not trying to be rude but it's just a little misleading when we skew the facts.
This places Kepler at less than 3% of the total exoplanets found. Still a pretty incredible mission so far with 1200+ candidates to begin the arduous process of confirmation, in which we can expect the majority to be confirmed. Great video but until that confirmation they're candidates :)
I suppose the biggest differences are that when the 'new world' was 'discovered' it was accessible, if not easily. People could set out for it and start a new life, get land, make a future for their families. To contrast that, we've known there are other stars/planets for a long time, if not the number of earth-like ones, and we know the universe is huge, so there's bound to be lots of them. That we know just how many of these planets there are, doesn't change they're currently unreachable.
"What should out priorities be?" Everyone will have a different answer. Space exploration is not what the average american cares about, if that's what you want to know.....
We don´t look at ourselves as being worth half the value as if our planet had double as many inhabitants. We wouldn´t think it as less of a tragedy if earth was destroyed if we were told that far away there were other earth-like planets with humans. A grossly simplified formulation of the point I´m trying to make is that if we were able to live well on a billion planets it would be a billion times as good as living well just on earth. Nice vid. I´ll be making vids about this myself ;)
Because religion and religious people have rendered earth uninhabitable, because they have sent earth on an untenable vector for destruction, secular reasoning humans need to find a new place to live. No religion allowed. None. It doesnt work. It ruined planet earth and most of its inhabitants. It is a cancer for life. It makes humans less human. Stop all religion or it will stop you.
While NASA and other space agencies may have found some 12,000 odd planets orbiting various stars, CNN and other news agencies have discovered that infinitely more bodies orbit the star known as Lohan-Lindsay 1. While about five of the 12,000 are deemed potentially inhabitable, sadly none of the satellites of Lohan show any sort of life.
I don't know why the mainstream media didn't cover the recent Kepler findings that much. They made a bigger deal out of the discovery of Gliese 581g on September 29th, and there were several new Kepler planets in the habitable zone that were closer to earth-sized than the one Gliese 581g.
It's really amazing how far we've come in planet hunting in just 15 years. Before 1995 we had not found a single planet around another star.
I think we must focus on colonization, we can´t wait for another extinction, if we don´t do it now we risk lose everything, this kind of thing take a long time to do, we must start now.
I almost came when you put TNG opening at the end. It's all I've been thinking about since I heard of this. When we have our first deep space ships, it will be a bloodbath between the Trekkies and the Star Wars nerds. Will we name it Enterprise or something from Star Wars? I hope it's named neither, and all the geeks collectively shit themselves with rage (although I have to admit, my inner nerd demands Enerprise lol). Oooh, I wish I was going to be here to see it ^_^
you know danny, the ignorant will find this out at their deathbed wondering why the the hell they led such meaningless existences, never looking inward enough to know what they have been given in light of their stupid fixation on people that dont even amount to a puddle of spit on the sidewalk of what we know as the universe. thats ok, more for us!!! nice vid buddy.
@dannypantsgm wow thanks for the reply , its nice to encounter like minded peopl my personal favs include Cosmos and Pale blue dot.Nice channel btw I'm trying to do the same with mines , check out my video the stars beckon I recommend it ...
I'm a theist "on the edge" if you know but I mean .But I dont think that should stop us from coming together for a common cause.
@SonOfTerra92 I went to your channel and I like what I see. Science vs. History was great. You're a very thoughtful guy and you have my sub. Also, like the channel design too. Very sharp.
@dannypantsgm Thanks 4 replying anyways, I hope that this is the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship. I'll stay tuned for any of your future videos ...
keep up the good work all the best in your coming endeavors ,
Very inspiring video. I spend a lot of time thinking about things like this, and try to keep myself updated on recent scientific findings, be it recreating genomes or discovering planets which are potentially habitable. I watch the news and sometimes think where the world is headed... it's sad how off track our priorities are right now. It sickens me to see that we have to remind ourselves how important advancement is.
Though the name "yellow journalism" was coined in the 1800's, it goes back to before Roman times, at least. I'm sure many had negative spins on the New World or no spin at all. It's a complicated matter, like many things, but your points are spot on. Great vid!
The thought of all those worlds out there, with the potential for some of them to support life is the greatest news I have heard in a long time, and your ending is exactly why this is true for me. TNG created my interest in space which holds to this day. Let's continue the analogy. In the show, humanity has put aside its differences to make a better future. Let's all work together to create a better future for humanity and reach for those strange new worlds.
Candidates! I agree they are probably planets, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. . They have to be 99% certain that it is a planet before calling it such. Science doesn't need things to fit in any agenda. It is what it is. Science FTW! Great video!
@lildread1 Well, both the latter and former is unlikely, but we're advancing technologically very rapidly, and at an exponential rate. If anything, you'll be able to help the cause.
dannypants, mabye you could do a shoutout for planethunters(dot) org if you dont know who they are go to thier site. see if you like it and if you do. mabye do a shoutout vid for them. it would really help the x planet finding project peace!!!
@onlythefacts999 I linked them in the description. I had wanted to mention them in the video but I forgot. I've been having a lot of fun working on that myself.
After watching this video, I feel kind of strange. For one part, I am very glad to have a chance to live in this day and age, where I can enjoy all technological advancements and political freedoms achieved in the past, but I also feel sad for I will never grow old enough to see our species colonize other worlds and come to knowledge that we with our limited minds can't even concieve of yet. I think the future will be awesome!
@Shakleton42 I think you will. I highly recommend you to take the time to watch two videos here on Youtube: "Authors@Google: Ray Kurzweil" and "Aubrey de Grey: Why we age and how we can avoid it" talk at TED. These videos give an introduction to ways of thinking that give conclusions that seem crazy, but should be considered very seriously. If you want to find the most efficient ways of contributing to an awesome future, subscribe to my channel (I´ll be posting a video where I explain).
For the idiot who said saving lives is more important than space exploration.... I guess he means by killing the Taliban and Al Quaeda we saved from the Soviets in the first place. Hey dickwad, if we don't get off this rock before the next mountain sized meteor hits it, we're all fucking dead! So, space exploration does save lives. ALL OF THEM! Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson said the killer rock is likely to come this century!!! For those who don't care, THIS WILL KILL CELEBRITY BOOBS TOO!!!
Survival, priority number 1, and under this comes all things that are good for us, political discourse, democracy, protecting our planet, striving to reach new ones, sciences, history, education and health. For all we are, it would take a heap of space ice to wipe out everything we have built. All because those with the power dont want that to change.
Even though I find this exciting, we can't expect the world to start buying tickets and getting excited too. Who knows how many decades it will be before we can ever send a craft to one of those planets. It's nowhere near the same thing as discovering a continent that people can actually reach in a few weeks.
Standing in the way of any of these should be a crime. Even in the 21st century, much of humanity is still living in the past. Our future is up there.
I agree with Perlustrate's comment "resources for space exploration would be better spent saving lives." However, resources for military expense would be better spent on space exploration. BaDoom Boom!
Anyone who can inspire DarkMatter definitely deserves a Sub! ;)
there is no real reason for military resources if you rly think about it. I mean bare minimum to only make it so we can defend our borders is fine, but honestly we dont need to be out in other countries no matter what the situation.
@L00NGB00W eventually our sun will explode. we hav a due date 2 get 2 another habitable planet. it may b billions of years away but new discoveries will invogorate this effort 2 preserve the lives of the species on this planet. space exploration is needed 2 dispel myths and superstition that infringe social justice. it is more necessary then bein an arms dealer or occupying countries for our corporate's interests.
The simple answer is that the majority of people have no interest in science. Sure, they love to use the things made possible by science, but they dont give a rats ass how it was made. For some reason, most people find science boring. Perhaps they just never give it a good look, or maybe they are afraid they arent smart enough to understand it. People are able to decide what they do/dont watch/read, and the vast majority decide to ignore science. You have to just accept that sad fact for now...
The ufo video is a fake and has been debunked by HOAXKiller1. When you boil it all down all I see is some very greedy people helping to dumb down the population so they will be easily pleased.
The rest of your video is great and I totally agree with your thoughts, as for star trek my two dogs are called Spock and Data.
We cannot reach these worlds, Time Distance Resource Energy Entropy. There is no Mass Effect, Warp or Hyperdrive never will be. This planet is your home forever, look after it.
The Victorians once thought that a human could never travel faster than 20mph otherwise they would suffocate. The first trains disproved that. People said the speed of sound would never be broken - they were wrong. History has proved that whenever someone assigns a 'limiting 'speed to some endeavor of mankind sooner or later some clever wotsit then breaks those limits. Einstein didn't know everything and his Special Relativity is slowly being picked apart. Never say never
@TK42138 My statement is based on science, the reality of distance, even faster than light travel could not get someone across the voids between galaxys or even systems before energy, fuel or resources ran out for the traveller(s). We may be able to live in artificial enviorments within this system of worlds but only because there are access to resources. Even sending a message to another system our civilisation would fall before it arrived. Plant a tree, love each other, earth is all we have.
I agree with your sentiment in the last sentence, but TK does have a point. Just because we think it may be inconceivable today doesnt mean that, as we speak, a breakthrough in physics cant or wont happen. The simple fact is that if we, as a species, want to survive, we will need to colonize other planets. Travel to other stars is not out of the realm of possibility, nor is travel to other galaxies [though the latter is less likely :P]. Have faith ;) Well, hope ^_^
I do agree, we must continue to look after this planet but at the same time continue to look for another potential home - if not for us then for our future generations.
Mankind will have to start re-thinking a lot of aspects of life if we're to get on with each other in a crowded planet. I always think the movie Silent Running hit the nail on the head with its eco-message.
Well, I agree that these sorts of discoveries are more important and interesting than celebrities and weather. Human rights issues seems to be the most important though. I don't think it's too hard to make the argument that the resources for space exploration would be better spent saving lives.
@Perlustrate I think you have a good point about health coming first but as humanity gets bigger it is likely that more people will suffer because of lack of resources. That leaves us with only a few options 1. we have to restricted the amount of children we have 2. Regular mass euthanasia 3. (1 and 2 combined) 4. blow ourselves up(end of problem) 5. find or build a new earth. I am a star trek nut! So maybe I am just a stupid deluded dreamer.
Mankind is destined to leave this planet. Since the population is ever growing and the world is certainly not making anymore land worth a damn to support that growth the only option is to find new exo-planets that are earth-like. It won't happen in our lifetimes but NASA and others are slowly starting the process. Once technology advances we will leave and explore. It's in our genes. So yes - it is vitally important to continue research into space exploration.
In the future It will maybe be possible to send people to colonize earth-like exo-planets but it will not be possible to transport a few billion people to new planets .
Governments will soon need to enforce one child policies if we want to ensure good life conditions for our descendants and to protect other species that live on this planet from total extinction.
@cruelbusiness1984 They do that because of their stupid primitive patriarchal customs they believe that only male child can be successor of the family .
In western world that kind of customs are almost extinct .
I don't know what to say, until something significant is discovered, I have no strong rebutal. Except to say that a lot of discoveries were not things we already knew existed, if we end space exploration and there is something out there that would have helped us, we will never know, but you will always be "right".
What is this almost childlike allusion to the Egypt of the Pharaohs, I find it almost racist hearing a modern civilisation contstanly taken into account owing to its ancient history, the rioting in Greece was not important owing to the achievements of Hellenism, and it would be insulting and pretentious to attribute the events in these nations to the their early civilisations. Otherwise, I couldn't agree with the sentiment of your video more.
@Conquestidore Well I'm definitely not trying to be racist. I really hope it doesn't come off like that. Was more of a "the story continues" kind of remark.
@dannypantsgm Of course it was entirely respectful, and I know your work well enough to know it was sincerely meant, its just been alluded to in other media forums in a way thats got on my tits recently, sorry to subject a passing comment to such hostility, still a thumbs-up all round
When you look at things like the MIT open courseware, and the massive push in this online media, you've got to admit though the numbers of people spending their time reading and learning seems to be going up. Even non-scientists now have access to information previously reserved for professionals, and they're definitely using it.
Wow, I sure hope I don't come across as that much of a dick when I talk to people. dannypantsgm is probably talking about half his family and friends. He's most likely talking about himself until he woke up and realized everything he just mentioned in this video. People have a right to have fun, they have a right to entertainment, but they have a responsibility to base their decisions that affect the rest of us, on actually knowing something OTHER than what Lohan is up to.
@huyked I guess I'm gonna have to modify that for future stuff. It's kind of supposed to be a joke in that it's over-the-top on purpose but this is the second complaint I've received on it.
Not really a complaint. Just an FYI. I was going to use it, but I'd rather not have kids see the ending. lol. Anyhow, good points you made on the video.
I'm part of the minority that is facinated by the thought of habitable planets. Maybe we can't go the speed of light, and the travel to another world can't happen in a single lifetime, but still; the very idea that there are potentially liveable planets is amazing. With today's technological knowledge it may be possible to get to the nearest system in less than 100 years of travel. Think of what the future may hold in that regard. :)
The reason no one cares about planets being out there is that the information is not useful yet. Ok, so there are 1000s of planets, some probably with some form of life in them. But we can't really do anything with it. It's totally out of human reach. I mean we can't even have people living in Mars, the closest and most hospitable environment other than Earth. Maybe this information will be of use in a few centirues or 1000s of years, and then Joe six pack will care :-/.
maybe once huminaty stops the greed, hatered, and finds out the possabilitys maybe before its too late. can you imagine 200 years from now, what we will know? folks we need to stop worrying about oil and getting rich. we need to look more deeply into the sky as people not, different country's.

CONCERTMANchicago 7 months ago
@CONCERTMANchicago
our sun's finite lifespan is far longer than the lifespan of most species. we'll be wiped out long before the sun burns out. I for one don't care, because I, everyone i care about, my civilization, and likely most of my genes, be dead long before the species is wiped out let alone the earth let alone the sun.

We're too busy trying to deal with the mess we've ended up making of THIS world, what the fuck would the average person in our civilizations want with another one? haha. It would be a sign of hope for me if more people actually did care. It's like we're becoming more and more stagnant. First we wanted adventure, now we're just trying to survive.
dragonfly42g 8 months ago

Aside from a major disaster, science should ALWAYS be first news priority. Scientists do not get the respect they deserve.

i knew all about this, and it excited me. thanks for pointing this out brotha...my opinion why the media did not cover it as much as that coke head pathetic excuse for an actress is because...the government does'nt want people asking to many questions. they dont want us knowing there chances of other life are more that .1% possibe. because we might go "wait a minute, god said nothing about this, is god even real". then the gov and the church start loosing control.

Great video but until that confirmation they're candidates :)

aerhearts 1 year ago
I suppose the biggest differences are that when the 'new world' was 'discovered' it was accessible, if not easily. People could set out for it and start a new life, get land, make a future for their families. To contrast that, we've known there are other stars/planets for a long time, if not the number of earth-like ones, and we know the universe is huge, so there's bound to be lots of them. That we know just how many of these planets there are, doesn't change they're currently unreachable.

ThorTheScienceGuy 1 year ago
Because religion and religious people have rendered earth uninhabitable, because they have sent earth on an untenable vector for destruction, secular reasoning humans need to find a new place to live. No religion allowed. None. It doesnt work. It ruined planet earth and most of its inhabitants. It is a cancer for life. It makes humans less human. Stop all religion or it will stop you.

Never say never
TK42138 1 year ago
@TK42138 My statement is based on science, the reality of distance, even faster than light travel could not get someone across the voids between galaxys or even systems before energy, fuel or resources ran out for the traveller(s). We may be able to live in artificial enviorments within this system of worlds but only because there are access to resources. Even sending a message to another system our civilisation would fall before it arrived. Plant a tree, love each other, earth is all we have.
AudibleOpinion 1 year ago
@AudibleOpinion
Have faith ;) Well, hope ^_^
sakar181 1 year ago
@AudibleOpinion
TK42138 1 year ago
Well, I agree that these sorts of discoveries are more important and interesting than celebrities and weather. Human rights issues seems to be the most important though. I don't think it's too hard to make the argument that the resources for space exploration would be better spent saving lives.
Perlustrate 1 year ago
@Perlustrate Agree. I should have emphasized that as well.
dannypantsgm 1 year ago
@Perlustrate I think you have a good point about health coming first but as humanity gets bigger it is likely that more people will suffer because of lack of resources. That leaves us with only a few options 1. we have to restricted the amount of children we have 2. Regular mass euthanasia 3. (1 and 2 combined) 4. blow ourselves up(end of problem) 5. find or build a new earth. I am a star trek nut! So maybe I am just a stupid deluded dreamer.
Redpilldown 1 year ago
@Perlustrate
TK42138 1 year ago

In the future It will maybe be possible to send people to colonize earth-like exo-planets but it will not be possible to transport a few billion people to new planets .

even if you will make some discoveries they wont be practically useful in near future we just dont have suitable technology to use them.
But if we delay them, we can save lots of money or speed up development of important stuff.

@anthonyhiscox This is true, and very encouraging.

Darn, I was about to share this video on my site, but the ending credit was a no-go. :(

@huyked I guess I'm gonna have to modify that for future stuff. It's kind of supposed to be a joke in that it's over-the-top on purpose but this is the second complaint I've received on it.

@dannypantsgm
Hello dannypantsgm,
Not really a complaint. Just an FYI. I was going to use it, but I'd rather not have kids see the ending. lol. Anyhow, good points you made on the video.
Take care,
