Hiya! Mind if you help me out? I get to choose between an Nvidia GTS 450 1GB & a HD6770 1GB. Which one should I get? :)

@mrbrianzion That's because all cards below the 6750 are non-gaming cards (simply, multimedia cards). Good choice buying the 6770 ;) The 7770 series aren't that much different, and are double the costs of a 6770.

@MrBALAKUMARA The 6750 and 6770 are pretty much similar to eachother. No point buying a 6750 when a 6770 is only a couple dollars more ;)

2GB of graphics memory just means 1 GPU core, but with 2GB memory instead. Won't make much of a difference unless you're running at insane 1080p + resolutions like 2560x1200 or something. The only dual GPU card on the market are the HD 6990, GTX 590, and the HD 7990.

1. It's cheaper

2. It has Eyefinity (hook up more than one monitor to this card)

3. Supports 3D like the Nvidia counterpart

4. Once it gets cheaper, you can stick in another 6770 and crossfire them, making the graphics horsepower available on your PC more than double (beats the 6970 in certain tests)

@Viibzter all 6770 cards are the same, the difference between them isn't stellar, yet the only differences are the cooler and the slight overclock (although I wouldn't justify buying these due to the price premium when you can simply overclock it yourself).

I play BF3 completely maxed at 900p (1600x900), not sure about skyrim though; this card can *almost* max out ArmA (except for the insane view distance), so this would just chomp up skyrim.

The wattage on my PSU is 750w. It's rated 80+

although the minimum you can run this card on is 450w (depending on other hardware present). Just to be safe, I would recommend a 550w power supply as minimum :)

@1994shahbaz Yes it does rely on an external supply of power i.e. you do need to have an 6 - pin power connector cable on your PSU.

I bought it for roughly £90 ;)

I temporarily switched from my quad core about 4 months back. Dual core right now. The card is more than capable, just make sure you have at least a core 2 duo, or phenom II X2 or Athlon II X2, or an i3. Single core chips are gonna bottle neck that card like a sand timer ;)
