Fred Kaps (June 8, 1926 -- July 22, 1980) was a Dutch magician, famous for being the only magician to become FISM Grand Prix world champion three times. Fred Kaps was one of the best, and an icon in the world of magic.

Have to disagree slightly Kjellstrom - Fred Kaps was not one of the best but THE BEST ever to grace the art of magic.
Ken Brooke adored this man for the help he was always willing to provide.
When you watch Fred Kaps in either close up or stage, you witness such faultless performance and entertainment.
There may be a raft of 'finger flingers' in magic today but compared to Kaps, they all seem to have something missing; whereas the Dutch Master was the complete package.

@EssexBoy696969 Have to disagree slightly EssexBoy. I don't rate Kaps at all. Everyone says he's good but his magic would not stand up today. This copper/silver stuff is all in Bobo's... it's public domain and quite lame. You have just allowed yourself to get brainwashed by the Kaps hype.

GOOD MAGIC is timeless - as is Fred Kaps. I haven't allowed ANYONE to brainwash me - but I've been in this game long enough (as a working pro myself) to recognise a legendary performer.......and excellent presentation.
Who would you suggest 'today' (to use your term) is better? Dynamo? Kris Angel?
Oh, and just to add, public domain Bobo material earns me a living that I never thought possible. I'd suggest that you stick with your one trick DVD's!

If you knew as much about magic (as you claim) you'd know that it isn't.
You'd also know the name of the British magician (and the title of THEIR routine) that Fred Kaps based his refinements upon.
