  • This is pretty weak

  • I can't understand why people talk about his and john's voices similiarity, as a huge fan of john and a huge fan of sean I can tell that their voices completly diffrent. Imo Sean's voice is one of the most underrated voices in history. "Friendly Fire" is one of the best albums i ever heard and believe me i heard a lot.

  • poor sean......he lost his father when he was only 5........i'm very sorry for him because he never had the chance to know him well.....

  • @MrLrossana ....don't worry. I'm sure he is cashing in on that fact.

  • Well, it's obvious from some of these comments that even the people who don't like Sean Lennon are willing to keep giving him a chance because they keep visiting his videos. People who, like me, are not familiar with his music, seek his videos in order to hear for myself and make my own mind up about what he creates. I personally think he's good, whether his father is John Lennon or not.

  • buy this album... every song is great

  • Garbage

  • His voice sounds just like his father!

  • It is not flesh and blood, but heart which makes him and his sons julian & sean.

  • OMG looks just like his daddy!! <3 he's sooooo cute!

  • I hate people who say he bought his fame. If he bought his fame, how does it come he doesn't have 10million+ hits on youtube for one of his songs? Didn't he have enough money to become a #1 artist?

  • @RefugeeNL the problem is that his brother has much more talent than he does, but he's not as well connected because his father basically abandoned him, so Sean gets all the credit for everything.

  • @xondragalvez What do you mean not as "well connected"? Julian made it really really big. Hit songs and all. He was a smash all the way. Sean, not so much. I like Sean though. He's not bad. I like this here. What is Sean getting credit for?

  • will folks, that tune was hot. and I am a song writer and I came up lisening to motown and the Beatles, this kid has something going on. beware hater's you will be proven wrong. Just saw another clip of him playing piano with his mom on the view. he is the real deal.

  • Is it that hard to not judge his music for who his family is but for what it sounds like?

Not Julian, not John, not Yoko, not The Beatles; the guy's name is Sean. No sense comparing him to any of the above, even if obvious similarities are shared.

  • I'm good enough to tie his shoes.....however I'm sure he's hired someone else to do that for him already. This spoiled rich brat bought his fame. Hey look at me! I'm John Lennon's son! Look at me! look at me!

  • @Fooblestheclown come on mate don't be fucking childish. This man is a great singer/songwriter, he has proven it with his solo career as well as with Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. And if you don't agree, why did you look this video up and give comments to it?

  • @RefugeeNL ......no talent. Just connected. Money can't buy you love....but it can buy you fame. I would have more respect for the brat if he was a plumber. And so dear friends you'll just have to carry on the dream is over.

  • His dad would be proud. To hell with the trolls on here with no appreciation for talent because it doesn't fit into their pigeon-holed narrow minded idea of what is talent. These people aren't good enough to tie his shoes.

  • ........and now once more, the Top 10 careers Sean Lennon would have if his father was not a Beatle......

  • Everyones always got a fucking opinion. Try being the son of one of the most highly regarded musicians in the business, and then trying to make yourself a career in the business as well. John Lennon casted such a fucking shadow, and thats hard to follow because eveyone will always critique him for now being his dad. Just listen to him for what it is, not what its not. My dad named me Lennon, and I am a musician...I gotta fucking follow that...

  • haha you guys

of course he paid for his fame

of course hes only on TV because of his parents

but why the fuck not? its not exactly beatles material, but the music isnt bad. and if i were in his position, id do the same thing.

  • He's not Julian Lennon but Sean is talented in his own way. Julian Lennon is just amazing. Check out Julian's new CD "Everything Changes".

  • "okay you juvenalian little assholes. this man is great. quite frankly he did pick up after his father in music. he did not pay for his talent, he already had it. if you want to bash on people for being talented and being on lettermen " ontherunhome

Like Sean Lennon would even be on the show if he didn't have his mother's money (from his father) and his father's name. Oi!

  • okay you juvenalian little assholes. this man is great. quite frankly he did pick up after his father in music. he did not pay for his talent, he already had it. if you want to bash on people for being talented and being on lettermen why dont you just bash yourself for being talentless and a pazny who just blatantly refuses to like good music. let me guess your a emmure fan. what kind of dumb asses are you?

  • spoiled brat with money for a small orchestra.

  • @dedbusted ....yes Sean paid for his fame. This video makes it so obvious.

  • @Fooblestheclown Um, I have nothing against what your saying. I disagree with you but I'm completely fine with the fact you have a different opinoun. But it seems like you have been commenting on this video for like... 5 months at least. Is there a reason that your doing this? or are you just trying to start arguments?

  • @Cctv106 ....three years actually. Well, I guess the person who posted this video is enjoying the chat board, otherwise he would have blocked me years ago......either way.....I would have prefered Sean to be a game show host.

  • @Fooblestheclown Well mate gotta say, I've always felt that the one big problem about youtube comments is that it allows people to get really offensive and aggressive upon one another about the most stupid things, much like the opinoun of a song/ artist. So seriously, good on you for not being too much of a prick towards other people when arguing your opinoun. Youtube comments are for discussing opinouns not calling people names just because you'll never see them face to face.

  • This is not that great, but check out seans stuff with The Ghost Of A Sabre tooth Tiger, its Awesome.

  • Oh my god my ears are begining to vomit!

  • @Fooblestheclown He must take after his mother's singing...

  • @andmaketherain ....I said it before, and I will say it again....this brat should just spend his inheritance, and shut up.

  • Both Julian and Sean have the Lennon blood flowing through their veins and no one can convince me that one has more talent over the other. I am a fan of all 3 of them Lennon's and only wish John could have lived to see the genius that he passed on to his sons. Keep making great music Lennon's!

  • At least John had 1 talented son. This isnt him.

  • This is awesome.

  • Eah, not that good. Bummer

  • handsome man

  • yo creo que le gustaria mas parecerse a Paul,y tiene esa inquietante melancolia de muchas canciones de los Beatles.El disco es buenisimo, hay que escucharlo mas de tres veces como la 2ª etapa de su padre.

  • if i was one of the Beatles i'd make sure that all of our kids were born around the same time as each other so then they could become the new Beatles.

  • @spitfire9727 imagine.

    keep imaginin' bro.

  • Brilliant performance. Eeiry, haunting sound but cynical lyrics... Kinda cool

  • Wow. Almost looks, Magical Mystery Tour- ish

  • Trevor Roy Dunn = SELL OUT CORPORATE ROCKER.

  • No....no! he does not sound like his father at all.

  • He sounds a lot like John . Genetics, I guess .

  • Really cool performance..........give the dude a break....he is talented....but why shouldn't he be???

  • @ultraroadmap You kidding? Take away the stings, the piano player, the back up singers--just listen to his voice and tell me he is still good. Listen to Damien Rice--an Irish singer/songwriter who can get up and play and sing without $50,000 worh of back-up.

  • This song isn't "hauntingly sweet" - it's unhauntingly mediocre, imo.

  • "try the veal"

  • He should have played a role in Harry Potter as Harry Potter's twin brother. I can accept him as an actor...not a musician. Or maybe a game show host?

  • He's the real deal With Yuka Honda on grand piano Both deep soulful artists

  • This is the closest we will get of John Lennon perform on Letterman.

  • this song is so hauntingly beautiful

  • Hard to believe that this kid is now aproaching his father's age. I believe that Mark Chapman is "dead meat" if he ever gets out of prison.

  • a lot of the guys i kind of dated really look up to sean so i'm sure they appreciate his musical efforts after years of laying dormant at the mic. call this the opening of experiments of broken happenings - mostly because my relationships with these guys never panned out. the rest of the guys i tended to gravitate toward like going to animation film festivals and i have to test their tolerance for andy warhol. this interview deserves a transcript on the internet.

  • "when you're mad at somebody and you just gotta say: DEAD MEAT!!!" =D

  • anyone replace anyone, but I like this song

  • looks likes pops.

  • i remember seeing this live on TV...it blew me away and i just had to get the cd the next day!...which is also great!

  • Sean + James + Dhani + Zak = BEATLES TWO

  • @kemaxiu and they know eachother. zak plays drums like his father does. james sings and plays great guitar, pauls son. dhani plays guitar and sings to. and sean sings and plays guitar. is james do the bass.....they will be the new beatles. i hope one day they will come together and tour or something and make an album. just for their fathers or something. they all are verry skilled with singing and guitar. !!!
  • @kemaxiu ....that would be the WORST sell out of all time.

  • john lennon cant be replace even with his own son... sorry

  • @ghaibboy i dont think sean wants to replace his father- he is a musician and a talented one on his own right

  • @hadasb86 i hope he has that paradigm on his mind ;)

  • you dont no sean he got lots of talent he play guitars solo like his father

  • @chris48able ....Sorry, I can't take your comment seriously.....you don't KNOW how to spell. Sean Lennon is completely untalented. He just happens to have a father who was in the greatest band on earth. He should be a game show host, or anything else but a musician.

  • @Fooblestheclown "Completely untalented" really? Man, I feel bad for people who choose to blatantly ignore when someone has talent and chalk it all up to nepotism because that's the easier argument. Sean is extremely talented, but you don't need to hear it from me. Read the critic's reviews from his current tour, read the random reviews from people who have seen him play/sing live. This guy is much more than just "John LENNON'S son." He's got gifts and it's too bad people want to dismiss.

  • @lalalives .......Yes a game show host. This way we can all appreciate the lad, look at his face and reminise about his father, without having to listen to him sing.

  • @Fooblestheclown How many CD's have you put out? How many people pay to see you perform on a regular basis?

  • @TheMarkkosares ....irrelevant.

  • @lalalives ....completely untalented, yet connected. Hey, I can still accept him as a game show host......or maybe a movie double in Harry Potter.

  • @lalalives ....completely untalented. Completely connected, being the son of Mr.Fab guy. You may say I'm a hater, but I'm not the only one....I hope someday you will wake up....so Sean may come undun.

  • @Fooblestheclown He may be connected but he is talented. If he was any other schmo doing music he would be seeing more recognition.

  • @alexanderjabben ......nope. There are more talented amateurs on You tube who will never be on Letterman because their father was not a Beatle. Those back up studio musicians must have cost a lot. Money can't buy you love....but it can buy you fame.

  • @Fooblestheclown Please. Sean is a wonderful musician. Haters gonna hate. And I'm going to go play Friendly Fire.

  • @lalalives ....and so dear friends, you'll just have to carry on....the dream is over.

  • @lalalives Well, since you said so (and some critic hacks have also) it must be true. I'll forget the bad singing and poor lyrics I hear here and take your word for it.

  • @lalalives I was curious and looked up this video. I honestly don't think it's that great. Usually i'm totally into this style but i just don't like the music.

  • @Fooblestheclown im with you..

  • he does look so much like his father.

  • A clown in every circus. Not playing anything to throw a pie to here Foobles!

  • should change his name to Sean Ono...

  • Why can't I be on David Letteman? Why does Sean Lennon get to be on David Letterman?.....I will now tell you, it's called nepotism. No talent. Just connected.

  • Why didn't David Letterman have a top ten list on careers Sean would be doing if his dad was not a Beatle? I am going to point out to the world until hell freezes over that this privileged kid has no talent whatsoever.

  • Sorry, I have to add one more: "Yer Blues". Powerful stuff!

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce Well, I forgot 2 more, ha ha! "Hey Bulldog" and "Doctor Robert". The list goes on.

  • Okay. Since it's all about Lennon here, I'm going to list John's 10 best vocal performances, strictly my opinion and in no particular order: "I Feel Fine" "I Am The Walrus" "Help" "# 9 Dream", "Strawberry Fields Forever" "Ticket To Ride" "Come Together" "Dear Prudence" "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" "Happiness Is A Warm Gun". Obviously, John had many more great songs, but these 10 probably affect me the most. Any comments or curse words? Ha! Sorry, Sean doesn't have any good ones.
  • @ToddSweeneyOnce Ugh, Sean is GREAT and how do you make a list of John's greatest vocals and forget A Day In The Life, which is like the most sublime/haunting/incredible singing ever put on record. John's voice MAKES that song. And no Don't Let Me Down? Forget this list dude.

  • @lalalives If you think Yokoette is great, don't talk to me about my list. Don't Let Me Down is good, but not one of his best, imo.

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce You're too funny, "Yokoette?" Get off his page then dude. You came here for what point? Smh at some people. Anyway, saw Sean on Saturday with GOASTT and he's gone up thousands of notches in my estimation of his talent. Now he's just plain brilliant. Loved everything he did. Amazing, the whole family.

  • @lalalives Well, at least you didn't curse at me dude. Man, if you like him that's cool with me, I just think Julian is better and of course John was a genius. I do think McCartney was better than John, but what a pair they made! I didn't come here to troll, btw, I don't do that. I honestly can't remember why I clicked on this video. I think I was listening to a John or Julian song and this was one of the next choices. Peace man, listen to what you enjoy.

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce That's cool And I completely 100% disagree that Paul was better than John. But that's a different topic for a different board.

  • @lalalives Well, you have a point there. I've always felt that both of them would have been famous on their own, but together, they were the greatest ever. I also know that John started the band that became the Beatles, but he would have never achieved everything he did, if Paul hadn't come along. Just my opinion.

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce The same could be said about Paul. Had it not been for John, so many of Paul's songs would be bouncy/soft ballady/showtunes. John brought out the edge in Paul and gave him some more bite and character- which is why Macca's Beatles tunes far outshine his solo output. John may not have been as musically adept as Paul, but he had fire in his soul that made his music and words stand out. He was also a very gifted writer and artist- both had nothing to do with Paul.

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce But BOTH wouldn't have made it the way they did without the other, let's not kid ourselves. John was absolutely, 100% my cup of tea. I loved it all- and the man himself was fascinating. Others feel differently, and that is perfectly fine. Believe me, I love Paul and much of his music. It's just that so much more of John's stuff touched me and moved me on a whole different level.

  • @lalalives I absolutely agree with your first sentence. Check out what I said a week ago. Together, they were the greatest ever. I respect that your favorite is John. Sometimes I've listened to his music and I think, "Maybe John was/is the greatest". That's how good he was to me, but in the end, it's always Paul for me. If you put together a soundtrack for my 70's childhood, he would be the dominating artist, with Elton probably second. Also remember that John wrote songs much like Paul's .....

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce You have good taste and your responses make me smile. I love that we can see eye to eye on this matter because it's so petty to argue John vs. Paul when we both know they were/still remain on a level to which few, if any, can reach. That is just a fact. I will always consider John to be one of the most magnificent songwriters and artists to EVER live, but Paul is right up there. And that is high praise believe me.

  • Respond to this video....in the early days. When he started writing introspectively around 1965 is when he achieved true greatness, imo. I do feel that Paul was a happier person and it showed in his writing. John's father left early and he lost his mother early on as well, but Paul lost his mom at an even younger age, which is why it's strange to me that Paul's writing wasn't darker. I'm sure mine would have been in that situation. They were the best together, no one is even close.

  • It's pretty obvious from which parent he got his talent from.....this was a really nice performance and somewhere his father was watching..... how proud he must have been.

  • I don't give a shit whose son or brother he is or how he looks like. I simply love him and Friendly Fire is a nice piece of work

  • Harry Potter gettin guitar lessons ? ... XD

  • Very good. I like Sean Lennon and his music, even if he were not John's son I would like him, I've only heard a few songs by him but he is a talented songwriter.

  • omg john lennon!

  • Sean, the fact that you are john's son is great, not because you are who you are because of him, but bcuz thanks to that fact i know your music.

  • Great boy!

  • Go away if you dont like it.

  • @lucyimhomenow .....are you kidding? this is too much fun!

  • Comment removed because of too many negative votes. What bullshit. Who makes that decision? It's called censorship.

  • John Lennon should have worn a condom back in 1975. What vindictive lyrics. He's going out of his way to get back at someone who messed around with his girlfriend, then he died. So he is having his revenge by going on national television, with hired musicians, to get his point across. Nobody gives a shit, and why didn't Letterman ask Sean.....why did your girlfriend mess around on you? Is it because you are a spoiled, rich , vindictive....prick?

  • Give yourself something you don't deserve. Check out HID/E/S on my channel all you Sean Lennon zombies. You'll hate it.

  • Alright. Everybody calm down. I didn't say I wanted to or someone should shoot him, I said someone 'should OF shot him'. I meant 'should HAVE shot him', and what I mean by that is ........why am I even explaining myself?. Fuck 'em. Oh yea, and unless I woke up in Red China this morning, I can say and feel whatever I want. So climb down off my back and pull your collective heads out of your collective asses. Sean Lennon doesn't pay your rent. He doesn't even pay his own. Foobles is the man.

  • I don't like this....I think he milks the name & that he IS trying to fill the void that Julian refuses to....

  • @RokDAWG1 I don't know if Julian could fill that void, but he could come closer than Sean

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce I agree...Julian said on an interview (that is on youtube somewhere) that he refused to find out if he could. He went on to say that he wanted to stand on his own name, BUT that name is Lennon so the bar is set high based on that alone.

  • @RokDAWG1 Yeah, that's a very large shadow to get out of.

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce Indeed!!

There was an interivew I saw once, I wish i could find it again where JL talked about his dad & said that he was lucky to have the name along with Sean & the ability to create & played on a piano & looked into the camera & said, "That's something Yoko will never have, the Lennon talent".

  • @RokDAWG1 I would love to see that interview. He's right, the leech may have his money, but never his talent or Julian's.

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce The interview aired in 2000, I believe, and I know it was some kind of show like 20/20 or dateline or something like that. There were questions of his settlement with the Lennon estate that he, of course, couldn't answer, When he spoke of Yoko, you could see the anger & hurt.

There's an interview I saw here on youtube like over the last 2 weeks where he just goes off about how hurt he is & how hard his life was. REALLY interesting to know

  • @ToddSweeneyOnce ....I agree.

  • @Fooblestheclown Thanks Foobles. You're wise beyond your years!

  • Fuck him and his mediocrity. Too bad he got all his talent from his mother. Doesn't matter anyway, he was a billionaire the second he popped out of that no talent star fucking mother of his. He should just shut up and fuck the whore's his mommy's money buys him. What a dick, he did an album of videos 'just for fun'. Just so you fools who are going to bash me know, I've met this little cocksucker and he's a condescending little bitch. Someone should of shot this jerkoff. My rant is over.

  • @HIDEOUSLYOURS you should get some help.

  • This is a Great Tune this guy has it going as far as I'm concerned So Cool The Tune makes me feel at Peace

  • I bet you anything Jogn wrote this. But never got a chance to produce it or perform it for that matter

  • To all the haters: Would you prefer if he looked more like Yoko and not John???

  • @beatlecost ...I'm not a hater...I'm a critic. And I couldn't give a shit who he looks like, my point is...this track is awful...and the only reason people are giving Sean the time of day is because he is the son of John Lennon.

  • @Fooblestheclown ...I'm not a hater...I'm a critic. - i should of just stopped reading there. Doesn't even know proper grammar and that you're not meant to start a sentence with "And". Your point is invalid too.

  • @LewisYoung .....yeah whatever you say Yoko. Ha! ha! I'm getting my message across....and people agree with me.....ha, ha!

  • I care who son he is, this is a shitty song.

  • @Fooblestheclown Mkay well thanks for the advice ya little troll :] I'll be sure to remember that little saying! I'm sorry I forgot we all have our own opinions but you really don't have to be rude about that but remember all we are sayin is give peace a chance. ;]

  • @XoXoBowTieXoXo ....Sean's daddy put it this way....and so dear friends, you'll just have to carry on...the dream is over....

  • He has some physical resemblance to his father and that's where the similarities end. How he got a spot on Letterman is a mystery.

  • @bailinnumberguy ....it's no mystery at all. He is the son of John Lennon. And deaf people will pay attention to him for that reason only.

  • Hahahehehehoho! -.- I ain't no fuckin child I am a grown woman . I think Justin Timberlake is fucking ugly as shit and what are you stuck in the 90's?

  • Comment removed

  • PXR....guy, have you been editing my comments again? Is this my reward for being responsible for your video getting over 350,000 hits. You are obviously enjoying my participation in this chat room....otherwise you would have blocked me years ago.

  • How is possible, for a child to have the genes of a Beatles, to be so untalented?

  • This song is horrible. The only reason anyone is giving this untalented brat the time of day is because of his lineage. No amount of money, and hired musicians is going to change that fact. There are so many amateurs on You tube who are ten times more talented than this brat, who deserve to be on Letterman, but let's face it...this kid is privileged. I'm glad that his girlfriend messed around on him.....ha!ha!ha!ha! no one gives a shit.

  • @Fooblestheclown its not a bad song...he isn't a brat..you don't even know him..so you have no room to talk..don't be a jerk off dude...you're just makeing yourself look like an imature asshole...

  • A-fuckin-men!!!!!

  • He has a talent!! Good voice!! good harmony!! How much we miss John!!! Oh God!!

  • So many 9-5 haters who dislike their lives to the point of ruining others'!!!! Sorry this isn't another pointless beat-beat-beat bass-bass-bass story of another cat-filled Saturday night filled with idiotic lyrics of ME and some other and ME and some other witless joke and ME and ME and ME - did I forget I AM all that's important - anyway ... sorry this isn't another Grammy award winning egotistical self-imposed diatribe of shite! But if you want something interesting & artful - here it is.

  • 756 likes.....77 dislikes.....Sean's mom must be casting the ballots.

  • Dead Meat is about right...inherited his Mum's self publicity trait by the look of it. Rubbish.

  • He fuckin' sucks. I wouldn't waste a dime on his shit.

  • sounds pretty shallow to me.

  • Who's the John Lennon from the 1960's impersonator? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Wake me when it's over!!! A little touch of Lennon and Yoko, how nicely terrible...

  • Who's the John Lennon from the 1960's impersonator? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Wake me when it's over!!!

  • It cinda hard to see john Lennon's son playing such different music than him. I think Sean should do a remix of one of his fathers song like imagine. Than would make him famous. -_-

  • @duddly134 ....no it would just prove to the world that he's cashing in on his father's name. I just wish this kid would spend his inheritance and shut up.

  • awful song

  • This kid is not talented.

  • This kid is talented.

  • Hey, this song its TERRIBLE! :(

  • Hey, this song its great! =)

  • I like the orchestration on the song.. the song seems pretty nice (seems like it requires several listens to fully appreciate) .. to be honest my ears are hearing quite a few notes that are slightly off.. I think Sean has a very nice tone and has a lot of different expressive points. I think with this he is proving to be his own self.. and not Johns offspring.. he seems to have a lot to offer. Looking forward to hearing more good things as he matures.

  • Let's make this point perfectly clear, the only thing Sean has in common with his Dad is his looks. Julian looks more like his Mother. Julian sounds more like his Father. That's why Sean should get a career being a game show host or something like that....he sounds terrible.

  • This song puts me to sleep! Julian def has John's talent!

  • I know he's half Japanese, but I think he looks more like John than Julian does. Yet everyone says that Julian is the spitting image of John. Sorry folks, I don't see it.

  • @Mikemaniax Julian sounds exactly like John - He just doesn't look like him.
