This dragon's a serious monster!!! It took Omnistrike full force without even flinching and it always used Vulcanbreath every other turn making it able to kill my party unions almost every other turn!!! Vulcanbreath also burns your unions giving them ZERO resistance against fire attacks!!! Thankfully, it doesn't know how to heal otherwise this fight would be -as I would put it- total bullshit!!!

@DNAnthraX most think he sucks and dont use him but thats why they fail later because hes one of the better leaders. in this quest if you manage to get gae off youll insta kill every union except dragon which makes it ez pz win then. but its chance I got it once but i lost rushes union in process so i ended up losing with dragon as 1/4 hp.

excuse me for the noob question: why deploy normal units, when you could deploy david, emma, torgal etc?

You can only have max 6 leaders in the X360 version, rest has to be generics.

@gamma87 he could be on xbox 360 i didnt look or watch video yet 360 cant have multiple leaders in a union. this is why the PC version is a nightmare because all the monsters get massively scaled up. this guys normal attacks were dropping my unions with 3k hp in one swipe it was a matter of luck or not if he 1 hit me lolz.

at higher BR ranks, the dragon does not use Vulcanbreath or any of its area attacks. I don't know exactly what rank you have to be but at least 40+? All it uses is Deathly Fang and regular attacks. You can paralyze it to seal off Deathly Fang and pretty much limit it to just attack.

you can silence to make vulcanbreath not happen, i beat him at BR 22 with help of silencer mainly :P

hey, how far are you in the actually story by the time you beat it? I just unlocked Elysion and can hardly out a dent in the big guy...I maybe get him down 20,000 or so with 2 Unions, 4 leaders, and 9 total units. Tips?

You should progress a little further into the game so you'll be able to deploy more units and leaders. Have you recruited Emmy yet?

No, I just got done with the numor caves. I get a lot closer now but still no go. About battle rank 37 I think

Oh. If it is needed, go grind and improve your arts. Try to recruit Nora from Athlum if she's available. She might or might not be depending on where you are in the story. Nora is the purple-clad girl that Master LL uses. You should be able to tell how effective she is.

Now that I think about it, you definitely need to level your arts to do enough damage along with hiring more soldiers. Wait till you acquire Emmy. When you get her, you'll be able to deploy more leaders and troops.

A good place to grind is Numor Mine/Caves.

I beat him at rank 40 and it boosted me to 41 without anyone dying.

And David never did me any good. He fell behind. He never died, but he just couldn't keep up with the phsyical damage torgal and baulson would do and rush was doing more damage in both combat and mystic arts.

i beat him at rank 22, he is hard, but i had vanguard formation(from the Hero quest if im not mistaken) and caedmon using Silencer II would make vulcanbreath not happen

Well it depends. It is a horribly bad game at times, but a really good/great games at times. Cons is the loading times, the annoying noise the 360 makes when playing it (so much information for the drive to read the disc), the the long battles, the uber hard enenmies when your a low lvl, having to find the area map for the dungeons otherwise you have to remember where the entrance is lol. Pro's, beautiful graphics, nice voice acting, deep story line, Battling system is interesting, ....

...Lots of side quests, loads of abilities to learn, many secret summons, etc and rare monsters. So it stays faithful to the RPG base line, but its annoying loading times, etc can be tedious, and the many times you may lose a fight with a boss. Lvling up is essential in this game, but understanding that all you characters make a union, so if one character dies or takes 2000 damage it can kill your entire party. Unions share HP, aggregate, mp, ap. They act as one instead of individuals.

So for example i have in one Union =

Rush: 789 Hp // Baulson: 800Hp // Soldier: 656Hp // Soldier: 540Hp.

In total the parties Hp is 2785Hp. If a boss/enemy does 500 damage, it comes of the parties Total Hp instead of the individual. So the total is then 2285hp. However if an enemy hits Rush for 800hp, the damage will still come of the total Hp and rush will dies because of his own individual Hp limit. Confusing i know, but play it and and see. Its pretty interesting. Lol =)

In short and sweet i would give it a 7/10 only because im a RPG fan. Dont slate it until you have tried it, this is a game that is not for everyones taste buds. Try renting it first, or get it cheap that way if you hate it, you wont feel to bad you spent a lot on it.

Depends on who you want to use and not.

If the unit is worth using and keeping, then train it.
