  • HD :)

  • I like the part when the video gets gray.

  • I like how this is only a song video now :P

  • hey bro you guys kick ass. I'd like it to be friends

  • wtf?

just old music and a grey screen

  • just a grey screen....

  • You're video isnt showing up on the clip only the music. Just letting you know.

  • this video is broken i cant see....

  • @gemartwarrior Oh good I thought my computer was screwed up from all the porn

  • Dude, what happened to your footage. its not showing anything.

  • Nive video. What the hell is wrong with WMG? Do they really think we play dodgy audio uploads rather than buying the tunes or getting them off file sharing sites? Grow up WMG

  • Man, I love watching Ray Dionaldo work the techniques, His flow and body movement is impressive. Very natural. His skills are impressive.

  • actually if you know the same kata(steps)you wont be able to hurt each other because your in the opposite sides

  • Guys this looks really great!

But is this real or just choreographed like a dance?

Can anybody suggest some kali sparring vids where the action is real and not a flow drill?

Something where both guys are going for victory and not a willing partner.

    Thanks!!

  • @viewer1a DOG BROTHERS. FMA as real as it gets.

  • @HYBRIDCOMBATIVES thanks I'll check'em out

  • @viewer1a actually there is no such thing as sparring in pekiti tersia kali. because pekiti tersia is used to kill people with either a bolo knife, with a bare fist or even a stick.

  • @kevinabarsoza sparring is just practice. Obviously there is sparring or they wouldn't know how the hell to kill someone.

  • @1Adrenoline1 leo gaje said it himself. its is not a sport like tae kwan do or karatedo it is a combat orientated system. meaning your obejective is to kill your adversary. there is alot of difference between practicing moves and sparing. you can't do sparing with Ptk when the blade is not making contact with part of the body. you can't do Ptk with a arnis stick without the proper gear. Well in Mano y mano there's probably sparring. Ptk is just too deadly to be used in sparring.

  • @kevinabarsoza I do realize that this isn't like the show orientated system like karate and tae kwan do but i don't realize how you can they teach this and how someone practices the moves they have learned. This martial arts is by far my favorite and I wouldn't mind any information you can give me on it.

  • @1Adrenoline1 I know when I was in Sayoc we rarely ever sparred, its BS. You're right 100% if you're not sparring you're not learning or you have hundreds of techniques to remember in the event that "his attack comes at this angle while your in this position with your hand at this height and this foot forward." If you don't spar and/or do scenario training you're never going to learn how to apply it. PT is no more deadly than anything the Dog Brothers teach and they apply it!

  • coz filipinos stays low and humble with there selves

  • Yes. I always remember, "It's not what you do, is how well you do it" :)

  • this type of martial arts ben apply already so many years ago before da invaders come like spain. lapu lapu killed magellan the great conquestador in europe

  • I always had that argue with my history teachers, many depict the killing of Magallanes almost as being killed by cavemen! Filipino martial arts are developing most probably from 9th century, that's a lot of real experience. Many history teachers don't even know who Lapu Lapu was. :)

  • LOL caveman eh ^^. whos your teacher? tell them to read History of asia after giving such words. More power to you

  • Thank you! Fortunately, I graduated from school a long time ago! There's still a lot of ignorance about martial arts, I always try to do something about it every day! power to you too! :)

  • this is unbelievably beautiful and practical, can't wait to research it some more and practice. Props to Filipines

  • i got the 2001 ice ice baby mix playing in the background...it actually goes well with the vid...LOL

  • Yeah!!! I knew him. Actually, her antie is my former teacher . While her small sister, possibility is one of my classmate before. He look best but absolutely more than best my late brother`s than him. We had since that before the combination art of Kung Fu Filipino Martial Arts created by late legendary Grand Master Angel Blancia for almost 60 years from now. All his technique`s was found in Blancia System.

  • amazing stuff Mr Dionaldo 5 stars.

  • sehr elegant!

  • what is the weapon used from 3:10 till the end?

  • geeze utah needs to get this stuff man, i would love to learn kali!

  • this is great for an armed fight, but not many people walk around with Riddick's knives... ill go with krav maga any day, after all you never forget to bring those weapons with you, theyre attached to your limbs...

  • FMA is not only related by weapons we have an empty hand, and all movements with weapon is similar in empty hand, it is not about weapon .,, is its how to apply the weapon with the art of FMA..thnks!

  • the principals you see in this vid directly translate to empty hand, just as the principals of KM can be applied to a blade. Open your mind a bit....

  • idnt say anything about KM all M.A. is gud.. i only said that FMA it,s not only using weapon.. u can apply or translate in emty hand because it is the same art with weapon or nothing... it is most applicable in street fighting, cause here in the philippine we study a how bad guys fight, with weapon or hand to hand, with single or multiple,,, we study what most better step to survive...thanks for sharing!

  • FMA is not only depend in using blade any thing you can use as a weapon..we use our enviroment..thank you!

  • krav maga is an excellent self defence system. kali is about counter defence and killing. you don't just use blades in kali. you can use keychains, pensil, pen, newspaper, eating utensils etc.

using objects is primary to fma, bare knuckle is secondary. this is why kali (fma) are among the deadliest art in the world

  • tru,but one mistake against a knfe will seperate your limbs from your body

  • For the guy asking if this is stuff is just for hollywood movies or for the real street fighting....just pls.keep on searching on the you tube...coz u'll find out that the basic stick movements and drills were just the things used for knife fighting , street boxing & grapling which you'll use in the streets..

  • do you guys conduct seminar in Australia??

  • Part of the martial arts in the Jason Bourne films was Kali!

  • part of it u mean all of it i wonna learn this and muy thai

  • No, I meant part of it, I should have been more specific, in the first two films it IS pure Kali, however in the third it does vary slightly with some extracts of JKD philosophy rather than pure Kali. You will notice this when Matt Damon tilts his head side to side to give the effect of a real fight, he deviates his centerline, wich commonly didn't happen in the first two films. Peace out man XD

    P.s I LOVE FMA

  • I think Vin Diesels Riddick got his knife movements from this (Kali)

  • he is

  • I would hate to get into a figth with this guy. But im just wondering how practical this is in a real fight for the average Jo. Some of the hand trapping and movements seems implausible in a real fight. In other words it doesnt seem intuitive. but then again I might be wrong.

  • The hand tapping is practice to train your sensitivity. You use that sensitivity to predict your opponent's next move.On the stick,it trains you to enter while the fight is taking place.FCS' concept is flow and close quarters. If you notice,Tuhon Ray uss the "punyo" of his stick

  • Keep in mind the title "15 years". The guy is good enough to use them. But a lot of it is to "keep touch -keep track" As long as your are touching that part of their body you can feel if and where they will attack next as well as being able to start blocking as soon as movement starts. This keeps the oppoent from building much striking momentum and having to block harder.

  • Thats very impressive indeed but how does this translate to practical use in a street fight? Most people dont have 15 years experience. What people need are quick and efficient ways to neutralize an attacker. Although this looks aethetically pleasing to the eye like a dance choreography I doubt it is applicable in the streets unless you're the guy in the video!

  • This video contains an audio track that has not been authorized by WMG. The audio has been disabled. More about copyright

    cry you mofo's -.-

  • its was "welcome to the jungle" It went really cool with this video.

  • fuck WMG and their stupid concept of copyright

  • what's with the sound? f*ck copyrights in that respect - nobody is going to download the sound to not have to buy the album ... i mean WTF? This is annoying AND useless ...

  • so far this is the best demo i have seen.

  • Yaw Yan short for saYaw ng kamataYan or dance of death is the philippine kickboxing.promote this fma so it get more popular in our country.

  • This Martial Arts simply shows multiple strikes to incapacitate the opponent depending on the possible threat you are facing and does'nt mean you have to do all cutting. You have to understand that you cannot stop an agressive opponent in just one slash like in the movies and as long as he's holding a deadly weapon, he can inflict you also deadly cut. A man stabbed fatally in the body sometimes can still walk some distance before he pass out.

  • Kali looks cool and everything, and I'm sure it gets the job done, but it's too complex... WAY too complex. I can do exactly what he did, which is take someone out, in a fraction of the time he did it in with Krav Maga.

  • Sir, you hit the nail on the head! People forget this is not something you can master with 6months-1year. It takes over a year practicing the technique and doing the move correctly with out mistakes. the style is really sophisticated and takes time. People are mis guided by watching movies thinking if I stay with my master up in the mountains for a 1 year or less they will become masters. Experts don't get good and master their craft with in a year. So don't try learning this stuff on your own!

  • practice with an expert or you might wind up dead if you trying to become an expert on your own with an expert instructor to creatique your moves. Try thinking like 2-3yrs or more before you start going out to bars to fight. The simplest techniques are the best and most resourceful and agian you'll need an expert. I'm tired of others critizing other videos that aren't fancy but simple and fast to learn. You'll do just fine against a cocky know it all thinking he's the shit after 1yr of class!

  • Hi Masterchief,

Yep you can do it, but one particularity that exists in Filipino Martial arts, that doesn't exist in KM is the Overkill concept. It means that in FMA we don't hit and move away, we hit, and we hit again and again and again, you probably killed the guy 10 times before you move. Look againt the video. The first move is almost always lethal.

  • If overkill is continuous attacking, then it actually is in Krav Maga. You attack the opponent until they're down and won't get back up. In KM, you attack until they're incapacitated, not dead. You don't want to purposefully kill an attacker, just knock them out.

  • but if you still wanna compare systems...

try to count how many years this system here helped them to defend themselves against invaders...

and how often kravmaga did... for me - it looks just like a marketing wave from israel..

  • The point is not "OVERKILL"

    THE POINT IS "OVER-SKILL"

  • how lame from you all to compare the systems...

everyone who knows a little about matial arts, knows:

it is never system a against system b -

it is person a agains person b

    ....

  • @easygroove I really agree with you here. People spend too much time trying to compare martial arts . Its a persons own abilitys and hardwork that determines how well they fight.

  • shum jeni mathafaaker ich bin agon hyseni ficke meine mutter:D

  • Gunlando thats funny :)

  • Fighting is whatever happens be ready for it.You need striking grappling weapons and defense against all the above, plus multiple opponents and awareness.Use line ups,be first, hit hard as you fukkin can.Avoid and escape unless you absolutely have to fight.Don't go around destroying idiot assholes just because you can.Train hard fight harder.Live with honour and respect.Peace

  • krav maga, KALI, silat...and i think it was savat are the most popular self defence methods used in military..mostly illegal in MMA

  • holy fuck I shit my self watchin the krambit action. Ud be prepaid into a ontray of sausage before you hit the floor.

  • Why it took forever to just do one strike ?!

  • Which part, because in some, he's teaching the movements to others and taking it slow so that they can see what's going on

  • It's the overkilling method.Ever heard Tuhon Ray Dionaldo explaining the bucket theorem??

More strikes=more pain, more wounds, more damage.Plus the facts that you are destroying parts of his body and you are ready for the next opponent...

  • Outstanding!

  • ...continuing...I'm not boasting or saying I couldn't be overpowered in a matter of a few seconds I'm just tired of this "tough guy" image so many martial artists feel they need to put out there. This is the main reason I haven't been able to take an instructor seriously for years now. The few I could shared my opinion and dwindled from their field...sad really. I miss the arts and videos like these, as well as "ownage lovers" will keep serious, purposeful practitioners away from the mat.

  • Maybe they aren't being "tough guys" and are just confident. I've met Tuhon Tay, he doesn't act like a tough guy at all, he's confident in his methods, and so there's no need to look otherwise. As for the tracks, they're good workout tracks, and are good to get you in that mood for intense things to happen, and plus they're simply just good tracks.

  • What's with the quick bit starting at 2:18? I respect a skilled person of any sort, and this fellow seems to have put in his time, but on willing partner's? I've been a dummy for a fair amount of instructors and if I ever put up a fight, in practice or reality, no matter the skill level I'm certain the impressive "flow" of a martial artist will disappear and the brutal show won't be fun to watch. It's pathetic the way some gimps ramble on about martial arts/skills. And why always a "tough" song?

  • At 1:29 he must have cut mr winky right down the middle..

  • You call THAT a knoife? THIS is a knoife! Well, it wouldn't matter with this guy, he'll cut you up with a spoon!

  • O_O

  • ive been a practitioner for almost 2 years now, and my god, ive never seen motion so fluid... i bow before the master.

  • Is Kali hand fighting practical.

  • in my opinion, yes kali hand fighting styles are very practical. kali does not require complicated forms to execute a block or a parry, and strikes are direct.

  • ni move oyeh =)

  • when one of you jackass's goes out and get's 14 black belts and do seminars all over the world because of how many people you impressed by practicing and training in so many martial arts, then you can bitch, but until then realise what true skill is, sit back and enjoy a good video. fucking whiney ass kids....show some respect.

  • almost all videos of this art and its variations always get comments from UFC guys. Please consider that this is a KILLING ART and NOT a SPORT. if you were allowed to kill your opponent in UFC, they'd prolly be practicing this art. There's a reason why militaries around the world train their soldiers with this...

  • true enough.. but if you were to master this art and be in the ufc, you wouldn't necessarily kill the person, but you would be able to end most, if not all fights very quickly.

  • You get the award for the stupidest comment. Explain how thats done...read your opponents mind? You have no idea what will get thrown at you in a real fight. REAL FIGHTS DON'T HAVE RULES!

  • You think MMA can't be used to kill? Hold a choke on someone after they have already passed out and yes, they will die, neck crank someone after they have already tapped from it and yes, the same thing will happen, hit someone hard enough and they'll die, alot of moves from MMA can be used to kill that's why there's a rule called tapping, just because there are rules in the UFC doesn't mean the fighter can't take away those rules in a real confrontation and turn it a non-sport fighting system.

  • MMA is a competition it has rules...i doubt anyone would use a chokehold in a runin in a war...they might in undercover missions where it is in then out...but if its fast u dont wait for a guy to pass out..plus juijutsui and all that is 1 on 1 basis wat happens if its more than 1?

  • If it's more than one attacker you use the rear naked choke on one and use him as a human shield.

  • trying to get into the position of rear naked choke while in quick combat is difficult especially if theyre all around and u cant quickly focus on 1 guy...the usual advise is to circle around till u have them to one side..and narrow down options..like a wall..like the story in 300 using those gates...by wall i mean like a corner if u have nowhere to go

  • White trash guns and roses.

  • Only one word to describe the Filipino arts; scary.

  • try: facinating

  • more like:badass

  • try it first idiot....

  • Try "Troll"

  • Try suicide

  • try: sig sauer

  • interesting

  • Ray you rock brother! We need you here in Rhode Island. You have some old friends here that miss you. Master V sends his regards.

  • Amazing.

  • Hey remember FMA (Arnis, Ecrima, Kali etc)is not only weapon-based, completed (weapon-strikes and empty-hand strikes), evolving (systems within an system) Martial Art but as well realistic Martial Arts using "basics" and/or "what works". Based in experience in real events, fights, battles or combat etc.

  • well done sir, i'm only red sash but i've been learning the kali art for 6 months. i'm filipino and my guru always picks me out to demonstrate lol hes always kicking my ass

  • the guy with the pony tail at the end was really rocking out

  • chewing gum....?

  • wow!

  • While I respect these guys immensely and used to practice FMA myself, I wonder if any of them have actually been in a real knife fight themselves or had to defend themselves from a knife-wielding attacker on the street.

I like Peyton Quinn's stuff and those of a few others who have really been attacked by knives and are still here.

A lot of knife fighting teachers talk about how to win a knife fight or defend against a blade, but have never actually done it in the real world.

  • I agree with you. Most instructors form many styles have never been in a real knife fight. Even as one who has trained in the Arts for 40yrs now, I would be the first to say, its a SCARY thing. One thing I don't hear enough of is the FEAR FACTOR. When that takes place, you loose a lot of fine motor skills. It looks great when student moves slow and inst. gets to go fast and show what he or she can do. Its different when you have a out of control person with a real weapon coming at you. Peace

  • True, though FMA has some badass defensive moves that can get you out of there quick if you use them right.

IME, the overemphasis on "winning" and killing, KOing, or submitting your opponent is pretty widespread in martial arts and you have to take the good stuff along with the stuff that sells (i.e. peoples' fantasies of being "dangerous").

  • While I do to an extent agree with what you're saying, I don't see a better option. It's a matter of increasing your odds, if even slightly. Would you rather be completely untrained in blade combat or FMA? If you forget 90% of your training, that's still 10% you wouldn't have had otherwise. It's your life after all.

It's also great exercise, improves dexterity, hand-eye coordination, etc...

Honestly, it's better than leaving it up to sheer luck, right?

  • Oh, I totally agree. The only place to get into a knife fight is probably in prison or in war, and those are 2 places I never want to be just to see if I could win a knife fight.

FMA or any type of reality based training is helpful and might save your life. IMO, though, a lot of FMA knife is pretty sophisticated, and you'd probably just use the basics in a real fight for your life. Like the Dog Bros., you only see them using basic FMA in their fights. When U R scared, you fall back on basics

  • I agree. I would say that ironically, probably the most important part of a lot of martial arts are the "basics". I feel that sometimes what separates a true "master" of an art and a "beginner" is not so much the wealth and number of techniques, but more importantly the perfection of those "basic" techniques.

When you practice a technique 4 times a week for 10+ years you tend to get pretty damn good at that technique..

  • if anybody wants to experience a real knife fight here, go to the slum area in the Philippines and you can get'em anytime you want... lol!

  • reminds me back home whhen two rival filipino gangs still use kali sticks as weapons...

  • Guns n roses > you

  • Great Super Video Sir

  • They do not look bad to me. You have to have control when working out someone else

  • this guy is not goo in kali check out yuli romo or tatang ilustrsimo this guy is inexperieince in the real combat and also to the full contact in the philippines

  • kali is what u gonna use in da real life.its like what's working n no what's looking good, n that gonna save yo life

  • yer right bro'

  • As many have said, Kali is a martial art that a lot of other martial arts borrow technique from.

Many people think the "Bourne" franchise movies use Israeli Krav-Maga, but it's actually Kali.

This is a very common mistake people make, assuming that the first place they saw something is where it originated, very common and not that big a deal. Kali is probably #1 of the "uncredited borrowed from" martial arts.

It's one of the oldest self defense systems in the world.

  • this looks alot like jeet kun do........wing chung

  • kali is the oldest art of em both... so if anything. jeet kuno do and wing chun will look like kali. besides, its got nothin to do with either of em. cheers

  • o ok thnx for explainin

  • wow! reminds me of CQC of metal gear solid 3: snake eater..

  • kali is a complete art first it teach you to use different weapons. weapons first empty hands later. first it starts with baston"stick" or a sword second is daga"knife" and some school are old school they teach whip and tomahawk and other weapons its empty hand is complete aswell first is Panuntukan"dirty boxing" second is Sikaran"kicks" and the last is Dumog"grappling" and some teach Kina mutai the art of Biting, Pinching inside the bicep and inner thighs eye Gouging. use in a ground fight

  • Make some research before commenting there is no wing chun in Kali. Kali is a "THOUSAND" year old art.The founder of the Wing Chun style, Yim Wing-Chun she is a girl was a native of Guangdong in China The origin of Wing Chun Kung Fu can be found in the turbulent, repressive Ching dynasty of over 250 years ago

  • looks like wing chun with knives, good vid

  • Nice, many systems will work well in an unarmed situation but as Inosanto says "That changes with three inches of steel". The reality is that few fighting systems really address weapons as well as kali;and since you never know who will attack you and pull that blade out -this is a real complete fighting system.

  • this art takes real dedication and hard work...

  • ang galing!!! saan ba ako pwede matuto ng karambit? I wanna learn that

  • Kapag nagpa-practice-wherein the opponent is EXPECTED to MOVE SLOW--BUT-In REAL fight, where opponent is NOT EXPECTED to MOVE SLOW...THEN that is the TRUE MEASURE.

  • MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS! KALI!!!!

  • Fucking Good !!!wtF is This Can You Tell Me Plz?

  • This is my fucking great pleasure of practicing it!!!!!

    Cool vid!!

  • man this system is base on farmers when they harvest there crops sometimes they get invi\olved inblade fighting while harvesting while there enemy is on there side harvesting to man

  • ahhh..thanks for the info!

  • kali is a complete art first it teach you to use different weapons. weapons first emty hands later. first it starts with baston"stick" second daga"knife" and some school are old school they teach whip and tomahwk and other weapons its emty hand is complete aswell first is Panuntukan"dirty boxing" second is Sikaran"kicks" and the last is Dumog"grappling"

  • I have to agree that in hand to hand of course the MMA guys would win. They just have the physical conditioning to go along with skill of tech. But lets be real here, its 2 totally different things. If I were someplace and I see anyone even resembling Chuck Lidell or Rampage Jackson heading my way looking pissed off and looking to knock my head off Im either going for my gun or knife. Fuck fighting fair if your getting attacked for no good reason.

  • have you seen the guys being taken down just by this demo? it's the size of chuck liddel you now LOL!

  • How often are you someplace carrying a gun or a knife? ;)

  • You kidding me? I live in Fl, almost everyone here carries a gun or knife. And since I live in Fl we have to drive everywhere meaning we have cars, meaning a gun or knife is within arms reach. There's a reason why Orlando, the city where I live, has the nickname "Gunlando" for a reason.

  • Fair enough. I didn't know you lived in a place nicknamed "Gunlando". But, if you're like everyone else I've come across, "almost everyone here carries a gun or knife" means <1% of the total population. And if you live in an area where needing to have a gun/knife in the US is a necessity for survival, I wish you the best...

  • Nah it has nothing to do with how dangerous this place is, its the fact that our rights to protect ourselves from the criminals who carry weapons illegally with out a carry license have not been infringed upon. There have been at least 3 cases here in less than a month where violent robberies and at least one kidnapping have been thwarted by normal citizens who have had the means to stop them. So in actuality, my city is quite safe.

  • even if you don t have a gun or knife you can always have something like the stick within arms reach. Let alone that you ll be able to defend yourself against these things even when you re unarmed!

  • For all who doesn't notice cause they are to busy being judgemental.....he is pretty much slicing major arteries....all he needs to do is get one and you're finished

  • As well as tendons, which would leave you quite crippled.

  • i would want to see this art on movies..do u agree with me?

  • jason bourne movies have good kali, but The Hunted has superb kali demonstrations.

  • this arts is already in the movies jason bourne and hunted......

  • Its works at our gym we do a system witch is just called knife fighting (wkfs). Its a combination of Kail, Krav Maga and some own input. Its works, but its hard as hell to learn.

  • I'd like to see some purists go up agaist a few mma guys. They'd have to be purists who actually fight though, not just train. I'd have to give mma the advantage based on that.

  • well mma is more unarmed......i think knifes win haha

  • mma is a sport for your info.. kali is like aikido.. its a combat martial arts.. marines are trained for this not only to disable or knock poeple down, its basically to kill.. even a pen can be a weapon for then..

  • Well, the main difference between them is that aikido is not a violent art. There are no actual attacks in it because it is meant to be used in conjunction with another art rather than on its own. Many people demonstrate it as a combat art, but it is never 100% realistic, because it was not originallymeant to stand alone like kali. It was created on the battlefield to assist at specific points in other styles, but kali is far more practical as it is actually complete.

  • Well.. Toothpicks too actually.

  • more like tekken hehe looks nice but is it working... i would like to see him in a cage with Ch.L the ice man...

  • Sure...give Ray Dionaldo a knife and Chuck can wear his MMA gloves. MMA is a sport, practical though it may be, it's an unarmed combat sport. No MMA guy is tough with his guts spilled all over the mat and his femoral artery sliced in half.....I don't care HOW hard you punch, you can't out punch a razor sharp blade.

  • ttt

  • dude I give the Ice Man all the respect in the MMA world but he wouldn't last 2 seconds with this guy. Honestly give Chuck some credit he isn't a dumb guy he knows his world is sport he isnt about to go up against a guy with a knife/sword he isn't retarted buddy gotta use that noggin

  • i wouldnt say its semi mma ..its definitley its own art/ Fighting style

  • jesus h christ the whole concept is freaking unreal. Never seen anything like it in the fighting world and i never wanna come across it. Cause if you fight a guy like that would wont say anything to anybody....ever again

  • really enjoyed that
