  • they work ok for target shooting tho?

  • @mikelozinski They're just fine for range use.

  • Nice review, ese! Keep it up

  • on my channell i have two videos demonstrating KCI 27 round mags for Glock .45ACP. I will be doing a full review of them sometime soon. the excess plastic issue is an easy fix. the onily problem i have with them is the floorplate system is cheap, but with a factory glock floorplate on it, it is 10x more solid. i have done drop tests with my KCI mag and it never came apart or broke.

  • I also did a review of this without a side by side comparison. I had three labeled KCI from a previous purchase and have used these at the range (only) without problems. I ordered four more from CDNN Sports a couple of weeks back for $6.99 each. Again for range use only. Something else I just noticed, the ones I've had for a while don't have that metal showing in the front. Opening up the ones I just got they do. The older ones seem to be better quality too.

  • Glock had a small run of the mags with the cut for the Ambi pistols which they do not make anymore. A customer wanted these but the engineers demonstrated they were not needed. The metal on the KCI is a fix to this issue. Avoid factory mags that have them and have a certified Glock Armorer remove the Ambi release. Not needed. Training solves this problem.

  • oh yeah.... you dont have to drop your mags hollywood style. pull em out and use your pockets lol... if i were in a fire fight i might drop my mags but then again i wouldnt use kci mags on duty or while carrying any way... theres a reason they only cost 9.95 for two and a mag pouch. but fine for target or range use.

  • you can put g17 mags in the g17-g19-g26- and the full auto -g18. you can also use the g18 33 round mag in all 9mm glock pistols. you just cant go in reverse because of the length of the mag body

  • My son pushed enter, anyways Their cheaper to make!... . For playing and practice it's just perfect.

  • Glock mags are polymer which is a resin. As the korean mags are just plane plastic, like toys it's just cheaper to

  • Lesson : For concealed carry or home defense purposes ( or any other situation where your life depends on it ), only buy factory Glock magazines. Saving $10 isn't worth your life.

I limit my KCI/Kahn mags to "last ditch" home defense, and range use.

  • just wanted to say thanks for taking the time doing this review. It gave me a pretty good idea of what to expect out of these mags.

  • @slacker607 No problem. It's been a while since I purchased a KCI mag for further T&E. I've been contacted by a KCI industry rep who claims that these problems will be fixed in their next batches. So when I have the time, money, and my own HD camcorder I'll post another follow-up

  • thanks for the review, i appreciate it!

  • The newer Glock mags have the metal cut out on the front as well. Thats for the new fourth gen abmi mag release. Its not a cost cutting measure by KCI.

  • @NIKON777 Hmm that is interesting to know but I think the cut metal does not help with ambidex mag release at all. So what is the point of the metal cut out? :(

  • Nice Review. I picked up a couple of KCI 9mm magazines to use in my G27 w/Lone Wolf 9mm Conversion barrel. My first trip to the range was less than successful. I had a number of failure to feed with Winchester White Box 115gr. I'll see if they get any better after I've run a few hundred rounds through. They may have just been stiff.

  • @mikegray0422 Take the mags apart and use an xacto knife to cut off the excess plastic flash. They won't "break in" at the range unless you do this.

Take a Glock factory mag and while you're cutting out the flash compare it to the Glock factory mag to make sure you're not cutting off too much.

  • @Codename46 Thanks. I'll give it a try this evening. I was hoping it would just be a simple fix.

  • @mikegray0422 It doesn't take much time at all, especially if you have a flat-head blade. I took an extra step and sanded down the interior with 180-grit sandpaper to get the circular plastic flash out as well. I also sanded down the mouth (in front of the feed lips) b/c they were tighter than factory Glock mags. I also used Flitz polish to polish and smooth out the feed lips and the upper sections of the interior. Do what works for you w/ minimal effort.

  • i bought some 9mm KCI mags for my glock. havnt tested them out yet. did you ever run into any feeding issues with yours and how long did it take you to break them in?

  • @xdejablu3x Breaking them in at the range won't work. KCI mags have a lot of excess plastic flash in the interior, and I also made the recent discovery that the mouth in front of the feed lips are thinner too. You'll need to take an xacto knife and cut off the excess flash. You may even need to use sandpaper if there are circular-shaped ones inside as well. I also took 180-grit sandpaper (a dremel can work too) and sanded off part of the mouth to open it up.

  • centerfire systems inc are selling 40 cal 15 rd glock #22 mags for 10 bucks each.

  • @45acpglock Are they KCI mags?

  • Good job.
