Hey I'm only 13 and getting ready to trade my 1998 warrior 350 for a 1986 xr250r... Is it a good idea?

Wat you r referring to is called a power valve not cause I'm a kno it all reader like you but cause I have owns/ worked on slot and only 2 strokes have them

All engines do not have a 'powerband. An engine tuned to give a completely linear power delivery has no 'powerband', just a smooth progressive increase in power as revs rise.

90km/h (light winds) 95km/h (higher winds) needs to be going that fast to push 6th gear properly

this bike makes the most horsepower low to mid range rpm so no he is not shifting too soon and he isnt even giving it 3/4 throttle and he probbably cares about his bike.

all you need is a quiet muffler {standard is fine if you leave the baffle in} blinkers, headlight, tail light and horn plus no oil leaks or anything like that for when you get it registered.

look behind the headlight and there will be a year stamped on the plate just above the vin number i think

i checked, it dint say, but i found out its a 95, i could tell because the 96 has a different stock exhaust, a different seat, and different side panels, but thanks anyways!

i just got a 86 honda xr 250 it is punched out to 380cc with a wiseco forged piston it starts on the first kick its pretty amazing for how old it is

I dunno, I've got an '81 XR250, the same engine as yours but with only one carb (and 22 years older) , and I rev it a little higher before shifting. Maybe it's 'cause I've got modified exhaust pipes. Still, good to see another XRer can ride.

these bikes are absolutly bulletproof, I recommend an fmf tail pipe, it really free's us the power potential, nice 1.

Supertrapps are great, too, because you can tune them for whatever you're using the bike for at the time. If you want all-out proformance, just take all the muffler plates off.
