  • These guys are my mums favourite. I pretend to hate them but actually secretly think they're pretty great

  • You are only receiving a very small percentage of all the light that enters your eyes, the sounds that enter your ears, the sensations coming from inside and outside your body, all the scents in the air and tastes in food. Your mind is distorting, filtering, interpreting and blocking most of it.The first time you experience life completely, it will astound you. It is the best thing there is or can be, just waiting for you to let it in.Search for "TruthContest" in Google for the truth of life

  • Whatever happened to fun, funky, upbeat music like this?

  • I grew up in the 80s and I always hated this song.

  • what the hell is song about???

  • no it's not just you, the thing about this video, is that the song was released in 85 and King of Wishful Thinking was released in 90, obviously this video is a remake or they have spliced together clips from both videos. If anyone knows the answer I would be interested in finding out.

  • Is it just me or is there anyone else that can't get enough of this song?!!!

  • is it me or on close up does it look like ted from scrubs?!

  • This song was MY JAM! Dude had a set of pipes on him.

  • @Statick1 still does!!

  • Download the absolute 80s remix app, you can remix this song! its really good

  • At points thru the song the singer's voice reminds me a lot of another singer from around that time ... Mr Mister is the only one that comes to mind but... don't think that's it. ,...Any ideas?

  • @marmas58ink Robert Palmer? solo or maybe during his Power Station days? Paul Young? Both have that same "choked" singing quality in their voices.

  • 50 people have never blinked at least a little? c'mon that would be impossible!!

  • Fantastic voice, totally underrated.

  • The ONLY way to listen to this song is on full blast. I still blast this in the car. Love it!

  • No disrespect to you guys and gals of th 60s, 70s and 90s and beyond, but I'm so glad I was a 80s guy

  • just love it after all these years.... this old song..... wow!

  • Much like Kim Wilde, Go West was not promoted enough in the United States. I miss the British Invasion period of the 80s.

  • @generatorx - Yeah we were EVERYWHERE lol. Now? It's just R&B singers and rappers. Innovative and talented right? *Sighs disappointedly*

  • I love them. <3

  • This song makes me miss the 80's!

  • A great number....but what's with the wrench?

  • good song but closing your eyes and talk to strangers?

  • ahh...far out...hearing this takes me back to 1985: I'm 21 and getting married...aaaarrgghh!!!

  • @jazzy6307 "Takes me back to 1985"??? But you weren't even there... However, it's great to know the younger generations are discovering the awesomeness of the 80's :)

  • @jhchouston Sorry, bad grammar: in 1985 I was 21 and getting married and this was a big hit at that time. The "aaarrgghh" refers to how young and stupid I was to be marrying the guy I did (big mistake).

  • 1985? Don't think so.

  • Now THIS is music.

  • Cool song.

  • Thanks BIG TIME for showing us this video. Brings back great memories of 1985....HAPPY DAYS....wheres the time gone

  • @dannyboyspain1 1985? This song did not even exist then.

  • @dannyboyspain1 ...you can almost hear it slipping away :D

  • this song is so weird and deep, god knows where the inspiration comes from. its like being slapped in the face by the 80s

  • Oh my god this is a HUGE flashback. I remember getting this TAPE for my SONY WALKMAN (yes I'm that old) and listening to this constantly for nearly a year! Thank you for posting this up xxx

  • I used think Peter Cox was such a ride and I still do

  • These guys must have been on 'The Generation Game' a lot.

  • I bought this on 12". 12"? WTF is that? I nearly wore it out.

  • Look at him swing that massive tool up and down.

  • 47 went EAST

  • @headhunter1066

by EAST you mean the justin bieber way.............

  • Classic! The sound of '85, absolutely brilliant, this and '19' are the ones I remember best from 1985!

  • @kate128346 White Men Can't Jump?

  • 1985 wouldn't have been quite so enjoyable without some Go West.

The album(still have on Vinyl)was SUPERB.

  • i,m sure thats the slimey bastard who was supposed to sort my brake pads out

  • I've always loved this classic from 1985. I wish the would make a sequel called We Open Our Eyes.

  • I sure wish I was born in the 80s

  • @91Jiraiya

I was born in 91 and so were most of my friends who enjoy eighties music, but I appreciate the technology we have today and the fact that listening to eighties music sets us aside from the norm.

I do wish obscene rap and dubstep were never invented though!

  • @91Jiraiya A great era lol

  • Saw the boys just last night here in Melbourne. They kicked butt! Were touring with Tony Hadley, and they rocked it! This song was definitely the show stopper1 ;-)

  • @platinumsoap Lucky you! What a show it must have been!!!

  • This song was played in a movie and it's not DEMONS... it's another movie but for the living christ of me I cannot remember it and it's bugging the shit outta me... somebody tell me... somebody must know... It's played in the beginning credits of a movie, at least I think that's what I remember... it's 80's early 90's movie... RAR so annoying...

  • @kate128346 I think you maybe thinking of 'king of wishful thinking' by Go West, which was played at the beginning of Pretty Woman :)

  • LOVE this song it makes me feel energetic and happy!! Love 80s songs most of them are always so full of fun!

  • beautiful like youtubes music video with shit thrown together before the days of youtubes!

  • ive always thought this was level 42 and im an 80s buff

    duh

  • King of Wishful Thinking was good, this is their best song.

  • This is aggressively 80's

  • Theme song from the 1987 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Great Song, great group, miss the 80's so much, great music, great groups.

  • early 80s unmatcheable if this word exists...

  • I STILL KNOW THE WORDS!!

  • Love the synth in this tune. Cool stuff!

  • A great song of the 80's even though he was made to have dentistry, wear a white (ok off-coloured) vest and slam various tools around. A producer's boy band, but I bought their album, and I still like it after all these years!

  • @celticrebelfan so? its a catchy song.

  • love love love love love love this song

  • VERY GOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • More Memories... Driving around West Hollywood in the late 80's with my best friend Devon... Love and Miss you Devon... :o

  • 46 people do not like closing their eyes......

  • Anyone know of another song, also from the 80's and it has a line in it "we close our eyes on desprate times, over and over"

    thanks

  • @fastdriver0 I think you're thinking of the song "We Close Our Eyes" by Oingo Boingo

  • @DougAppich Thanks for the suggestion, but not the one. thanks again though

  • what a classic 80s track

  • peter cox looks different in this video then others such as "call me" or "goodbye girl" guess he just aged quick. idfk

  • just love the bass line , the great pino palladino

  • @barrydunne30 pino palladino definitely didn't play on this, its definitely a synthesized bass line.

  • Aaaa when music was music and bands made it to the top the hard way not through some poxy show.

  • Great song and of its time (in a good way). Prefer the original 1985 mix though. This is the remix from 1993: slightly different percussion and other synth bits thrown in.

  • here it is - 26 years later and still a good listen 8) good to remember when music had more than 2 lines and a chorus...

  • seen them at 80s concert in breahead glasgow were brill still good no richard was babe xx

  • seen them at 80s concert in breahead glasgow were brill still good

  • Don't miss the 80's buy a bucket load of 80's DVD's and add some cd's and spend a weekend re-living them in your Stone washed or ice washed jeans and a your Frankie say RElax T shirt and white trainers. Expand the experience and have a 80's BBQ with some friends but make sure they dress for the occasion, kids as well if they bring them :)

  • i miss the 80's :-)

  • One of the best and most infectious pop songs of all time! MASTERPIECE!!!!!

  • Good symbolism. Non Illuminati. Perhaps that's why they have gone west:-(

  • Demons!

  • what happened to these guys. Here today and gone tomorrow in the first half of 1985

  • @ptaaffe They are still going strong and are touring The UK in December

  • @edward4191 I've seen Go West twice, and thats not enough. Gotto go and see them again. I actually was lucky enough to chat to Richard Drummie many many years ago in a club, the annoying thing was I was so drunk I must of come across like a right twat LOL.. I shook Peter Cox's hand, and then he went off to chat to the girls LOL

  • @oxygene65 Ive seen Go West about 6 times, the first time in 85,its the wifes favourite Band .

Weve met all The Band, they were in the same Hotel in Birmingham, they were all very pleasant people.

We met Peter Cox in Buxton and he was kind enough to pose for pictures, then they went in the local Pub to watch some Football.

  • @edward4191 Coolest story I've heard in a long time :) Cheers!

  • @ptaaffe Not quite they had a few more hit going into the mid 1990's

  • @ptaaffe doing gigs in Oz this October and myself and a few expats looking forward to seeing them.

  • @ptaaffe saw these play at an 80's music festival in henley only 2 weeks ago! They were immense!

  • @ptaaffe Still performing, ive seen them twice this year, and still sound great.

  • MAX HEADROOM

  • mmm i loved Go West :))

  • Perfect '80s synth-pop. Great tune.

  • Ah the 80s were such an awesome time for music. Nowadays if you tried to dance with an oversized wrench you'd be thrown out of the night club! LOL

  • @howzadog PMSL@ "Nowdays if you tried to dance with an oversized wrench you'd be thrown out of the night club" ;)

  • I want the proper original video.

  • The song's amazing, but really notice what's happening in the video and think.. the hell??

  • Which movie are the clips from?

  • Oh my they were dreamy!!

  • This song brings back such fond childhood memories, bring back the 80's!!!!!![iminent=VnjsiAgUWfOB]

  • 9 years old when this came out blew me away then still doin it now music has changed but gotta luv the classics

  • never understood the video, but the singing is very good!

  • damn i love the 80s! only in the 80s you'll see a music video with a guy singing while holding a wrench haha

  • @craigcraigycrag Nowadays in music vids they are most likely grabbing a woman's butt.

  • I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS SONG!

  • Singer has the bruce willis die hard look here

  • I remember getting the first album then being very dissapointed with DOTC, the next album was much better however.

  • I literally wasted HOURS waiting for this video to show. GOD THEY ARE SO HOT!!!

  • Great dance music, actual lyrics. Whoda thunk it?

  • The singer looks like agent Blazkowicz from Wolfenstein 3D.

  • I never liked this when it came out...I was a teen then. I like it now, lol

  • Pual Todd and Steve Kershaw

  • Que grandes que fueron los 80s, le pese a quien le pese.

  • damn i remember this cool ass fuckin song as a kid from one the scariest movies ever in the 80s Demons (1985)....great fuckin soundtrack that movie had

  • what a TUNE....

  • I was at a club with an 80s theme with my girlfriend. Near the end of the night the DJ played this song, so i picked up a broken leg off the floor from a chair and used it as a fake wrench, and did my best imitation of Peter Cox's routine from this video... I thought my girlfiend would find it funny, the next day she finished with me claiming i had deeply embarrassed her... I have no regrets, i looked fucking awesome.

  • @perryibanez You are too good for her anyway mate!

  • @perryibanez she was wayy to uptight and sensative, man. she shouldve been cheering you on.

  • @perryibanez You obviously had the 80s spirit within you -- but your girlfriend did not. Back in those days, doing what you did would have gotten you smiles and even applause. The name of the game in those days was FUN, FUN AND MORE FUN and FUN GALORE we did have!

  • @perryibanez You obviously had the 80s spirit within you -- but your girlfriend did not. Back in those days, doing what you did would have gotten you plenty of smiles and even applause. The name of the game in those days was FUN, FUN AND MORE FUN and FUN GALORE we did have!

  • @gal80s I agree with that, I had a lot of fun as a kid in the mid 80s and 90s this decade is for the miserable. Even the oldies seemed to enjoy being alive back in the eighties..now, everyone's scowling and swearing at each other. Sad...........

  • @GibbyGibbyGibb I appreciate your comment! It is true, I used to live in Miami Beach in the 80s and even the very old people used to look at us young kids: the crazy hair ones, the crazy outfit ones, the RELAX t-shirts ones, the punks, the metal rockers, the skaters (with very-very short neon shorts on), the ones with the big boom-box on their shoulders, and the older people used to just smile and celebrate our presence. They felt alive, but NOW???? It is depressing!

  • @GibbyGibbyGibb OK, I get your point. But, don't accept "sad..." With all respect, get off your ass and go to Coachella, Bonnaroo, Austin, etc,. or whatever if you are in the USA. There are plenty others if you live in Europe. I have attended every Coachella since 1999, and I have seen more music than I can remember. Do it. If not now, when? Best wishes.

  • @GibbyGibbyGibb Totally agree. I was born in 1982 - and when I listen to the music of the 80s/early 90's I wish I could go back and live my young adult/teen years there!

I think we're spoilt for choice now, and everything is so dilluted that it doesn't have it's own identity.

What WILL the 'noughties' be remembered for?

    NOTHING.

  • @perryibanez Big thumbs up. Your the man,

  • @perryibanez haha, suprised a bouncer didn't drag you out for 'starting'. your ex had no sense of humour.

  • @perryibanez ur a pissa mate lol! 'i looked fuken awesome' too funny.

  • @perryibanez what a geez!

  • @perryibanez

She had no idea. I wasn't there but I am also sure you looked awesome!

  • can't wait to see them live in 2 weeks time. yeah !

  • thanks..

  • apparently we are burning tigers who can walk on water while talking to strangers in the dark

  • I think its hilarious how his wife beater is all dirty looking its so 80s

  • he's owning that wrench.

  • That elephant was grooving to that tune, 1980s can't beat it!

The Pope John Paul used to get around during the mid 80's, not only was he a class act here in this video but he was great in Spitting Image as well, he had cool shades too, yeah baby! O_o

  • about the 20th time around now... I should really download it :D

  • Omg that singer is so goddamn sexy
