What I find myself wondering is: what's going on in the minds of the TWO people who disliked this? I mean, here we have two guitar legends playing fabulous music, and two people are either deaf or not musically inclined.  Al di Meola is fabulous, and, of course, Paco is king.

It is just vibrating the strings hence making the sound.

yes its sped up whats the problem? it was only for the sound. besides al is compressed and there are some unnatural reverb. nevertheless they are exellent players the time scrathching is minimal watch some vids of paco wich are not sped up. this was a historical recording.

it actually is sped up. they do play it at about the same speed, but there is actual footage of the original night and they play it a slight bit slower

@roaldyboy Actually, yes, this recording is slightly sped up. If you do a search here on youtube, you'll find the video of the actual performance - which is not only slightly slower but has a very different second half. The version on the album had parts which were recorded in the studio and then inserted in place of the live performance.

This is totally awesome, but everyone should know that this recording was slighty sped up. If you see the video version of this you can hear the difference. Still great. Just letting you know.

This version 1:55.09 - 0:03.9 = 112 seconds

Video version 2:01.1 - 0:06.0 = 115.1 seconds

About 2.8% faster here.

Either way, the greatest live performance I'VE ever seen OR heard :)

I think this is quite incredible. I had not heard Mediteranean Sundance before a few days ago. I have their Passion, Grace and Fire album, and this pieces is legendary and comparable in feeling and texture to Aspen from that album. Thank you very much for posting this.
