@zAnnekz No, you need the HDMI cable. What you got is called a component cable. Plug in the HDMI cable, fire up your PS3, select Display Setting, choose "HDMI:, then select 720p to "match" your TV setting. Press "X" to finalize the setting and you're good to go.

step 2: then let go and do it again except let go when it does the two fast beeps

step 3: a menu should pop up then hit restart .(use menu for alot of things) sounds dumb i know but then it will ask if you want to use hdmi . this way is way faster then this guy trust me cause it sets it up automaticly

That has nothing to do with your tv. All you need to do is go to Netflix.ca (I'm assuming ur Canadian cuz Netflix did this only for Canadian users), then login into your account, then go to "manage video quality", then choose between "good, better or best."

@JackBlackOps2011 select the (AV channel before you do anything) then if u have the slim ps3 u press and hold the power button until you hear a beep but if u have the old ps3s then u must wait until u hear 2 or 3 beeps then let go of the button then the settings will automatically go back to normal. i hope that helped :) have fun

i have a slim ps3 160gb with a 42 inch plasma tv (philips)

i have 2 hdmi slots on my plasma one is called hdmi 1 and hdmi 2. i connected my hdmi to the hdmi slot 1 and it work perfectly but when i change the channel to the hdmi channel the screen come out in half. the right side is for the hdmi slot 2 it blank cuz i have not connected anything to it and the left side is were u see the ps3 menu. how do i expand my slot 1 to full screen because i dnt wanna play black ops in half screen!

guys i had the same problem what you have to do is go to the channel that you plugged the hdmi cable in. for example if you pullged the hdmi cable to the place where it says hdmi 1 then go to the channel hdmi 1, thats what i did. hope it helps :D
