The '90s Spider-Man was WAY BETTER than the Spider-Man series nowadays. They just keep playing the old stories of how Spider-Man met the old villains over and over again. My friends and I were left wondering, when is Peter going to find the real Mary Jane from Madam Webb?? They left a lot of people hanging, why not just finish the story if these people wanted to stop the cartoon?? I thought it was great!!

In the last episode of Spider-Man TAS, Peter Parker is Spider-Carnage yes, but from ANOTHER DIMENSION!! Spider-Man in that dimension thought he was a clone, his family all passed away and he had no friends whatsoever, so he got jealous of Scarlet Spider and the Carnage symbiote came out from another portal and the jealous Spider-Man fighting Scarlet Sniper bonded with Carnage and became 'Spider-Carnage'. The ending was a bit sad because only Uncle Ben could get through to him.

True, but atleast this series doesn't have the crap censored out of it. Spiderman TAS couldn't even phsically harm people or refer to death due to marvel's heavy censorship. That's why the DCAU cartoons were much better than the Marvel ones (which was weird for me since I usally prefer Marvel over DC).

No he did once. It was a very obscure storyline so most people don't even know about it. But it was referenced in the 90's animated series. (remember how spidey looked while infected by carnage during the last episode? well that's how ben looked like in the comics)

Sales? Nope the clone saga vastly increased sales. By the time the Mark of Kaine hit sales were at the highest they'd been in years.

That and the positive reception to Ben Reilly was the reason why Marvel suits told the writers to keep extending and extending.

Turning a simple 6 month storyline into a 2 years thing were no one knew were it was heading is what killed the clone saga.

It's still a draw hence why they're redoing as a mini series and keep revisiting the concepts

Very true, many decisions ruined the storyline, especially, making Ben the new Spider-man, killing Doc Ock, retcon, and bringing in demons. To each man his own, but I didn't enjoy the storyline, to say it was a flop might be proven wrong, but I didn't care for it at all.
