What do you mean, "That's about it." ? I thought you said in the beginning they were going to be pulling the transmission out. That would have been more interesting as an ending other then,
@backyardsounds I got the wheels, glass, door handles, all of the little things people would want. There wasn't a good body panel on the car. The bottoms of the doors were rusted out. I hate it when people just crush cars and don't take the time to pull parts off. This bug was just junk.
The door handles were pitted bad. I had found a buck or two years ago. This thing was so rusted that there was like nothing left to get, if a Corvair was in that kind of shape I thing anyone would do the same thing, Get all the good stuff and scrap the rest, or leave it out in the woods for people in the future to find.
fun way to get the tranny etc...but somebody in 50 years will moan as to how you could treat a bug like that ! I had a 69 from new and they were't as good as the earlier ones...my last new one was a 71 and then we switched to Japanese from then on...you forgot the door handles! and did you check around the gear shift lever for cash? in a junk yard, my son found about 9$ in change - that was fun! and btw, would you treat a Corvair like that? :)
glad you removed the usable parts
