The music is somewhat late 90s and the art-direction seems to be an adaptation from stuff we use to do back in the early 90's back at Portfolio Artists Network. Also a bit Jean-Baptiste Mondino.

Wow I was thinking that heavy acid techno beat had more to do with the late 80's, a genre which has undergone a bit of a recent revival in the dingy London clubs that inspire Pugh's aesthetic. Similar art direction could be attributed to nearly any surrealist or starkly modernist piece of the 20th century, but comparing it to things that you specifically have experienced is a good way to score scene points, even if you're a bit behind
