It doesn't need to be as complicated or difficult as the classics for it to work. In that light, and if you want to draw the comparison, the great classics turn into Rude Goldberg machinations. I like this song exactly because of it's simplicity while remaining effective - that's my definition of elegance.

I don't understand why people like this so much. Not trying to be mean, but why does this simplistic song impress people? It sounds like some guy arpeggiating over a few basic chords - and not very well at that. How about a Chopin Nocturne instead? Infinitely more beautiful and timeless. I don't understand this :-| can someone explain the appeal of this song?

I looked up the software I knew existed to transcribe any music you hear into sheet with notes. It is called "TwelveKeys Music Transcription". Only 30 bucks. Splurge and get it for yourself. I agree this music is beautiful. That video, power of one, is a remake of another that was in a foriegn language. The message never gets old or over done.
