ninjitsu is more of an art of asasination, misdirection and stealth. Not so much of fighting. Fighting is actually one of the last skills a ninja should have. All the others are more important. Give both a couple of katanas and the game changes completelly.

PD: JKD is really similar to MMA since it's just the philosophy of bruce lee: Choose what works for you and use it. If bruce could have trained muay thai or bjj, he would have done it and apply it into fights :)
Muay thai its an epic self defense art and you just exel at it. Keep up the good work. BUT i highly recommend you not to bring the fight to the floor in a real fight since you can be fucked up so easily, your opponent may have friends around and can just come and kick your head/balls til you are ko, or stab your eyes when you grab him.

This isn't Ninjutsu, this is a farce. His "stance" is a joke and you're really no better than Kimbo Slice if that's your idea of victory. If you want a real example of Ninjutsu or as it's properly called, Ninpo Taijutsu, look up the words "Genbukan" or "Bujinkan". Lastly, the majority of maneuvers a Ninpo-ka would use in a street fight would be banned from an MMA-sanctioned fight. For example, tehodoki, wrist grabs, kyushou strikes, etc. would all be banned.

The kyoketsu shoge was only one of the many variety of weapons the shinobi used, and you said most of their weapons needed chain to be effective which is untrue. Is there perhaps a mistranslation on either of our parts? and the shoge was not a sickle, but a double edged knife with a protruding blade 90 degrees on the top of the handle. I think you are referring to the Kusari-kama.

Look, I'm not going to say too much. These guys are fighting without any protection for no money, with nothing on the line except pride. I can't say that's the smartest thing to do, since I really don't believe in putting my body on the line for nothing, and potentially setting my training back weeks or perhaps months. Seriously, this was a hand to hand fight so that they could test their skills, and neither guy looked impressive. Looks more like friendly fun to me. I train and spar with my friend who does Ninjutsu, because he realizes he wont have those weapons when he really needs them. Plus sparring is fun. MMA will beat out Ninjutsu hand to hand, and if it comes down to weapons the gun will prevail.
@scythe0704 but a gun or weapons for that matter isnt a part of MMA training. weapons are an actual part of ninjutsu training. And Even in other weapon based schools, so are guns. Its a legit part of our training and fighting style. We actually train in it.

There is no movement he has that suggests Ninjutsu at all. However for a competitive ground game, Ninjutsu is just not the art to use. BBJ clearly has it's strength here and is unmatched generally.

ninja.... most people think of badass black cloaked warroirs doing things like leaping from building to building, throwing stars, and even flying! the ninja was originally trained for things like spying, assassination, recon, kiddnaping or other non primary combat tasks. yes they were trained to fight, but only to accomplish the mission. they are so known for sneaking because at the time they're biggest oppoent was the samuri who were all about "face your opponent with honor" its history guys.

The kyoketsu shoge was only one of the many variety of weapons the shinobi used, and you said most of their weapons needed chain to be effective which is untrue. Is there perhaps a mistranslation on either of our parts? and the shoge was not a sickle, but a double edged knife with a protruding blade 90 degrees on the top of the handle. I think you are referring to the Kusari-kama.

@orginalFPShooting usually i would say it was a hook on a chain....but i think a simple description is less qualified for conversation.....because it leaves alot of interpretation...and yea, you definitely read what i said in a wrong context....i will say it differently then, the weapons used mostly against samuri involve chains...but i know the other weapons, and most of them were tactical "get away" stunning devices...

Look, I'm not going to say too much. These guys are fighting without any protection for no money, with nothing on the line except pride. I can't say that's the smartest thing to do, since I really don't believe in putting my body on the line for nothing, and potentially setting my training back weeks or perhaps months. Seriously, this was a hand to hand fight so that they could test their skills, and neither guy looked impressive. Looks more like friendly fun to me. I train and spar with my friend who does Ninjutsu, because he realizes he wont have those weapons when he really needs them. Plus sparring is fun. MMA will beat out Ninjutsu hand to hand, and if it comes down to weapons the gun will prevail.

@RuthlessViking1 Yeah thats the problem with it. There is always chance to change the technique to a self-defence move, but then it becomes different art.
I guess the bottom line is that these kind of martial arts are OLD, more like a history lesson if you practise them. Older days it was about survival, since the law and enviroment was so fucked up. Now days its different since you can be easilly caught for murda.
+ i wouldnt kill somebody in fight, unless my life would be in absolute danger
