You know what my young friend? Some of the best guitarists in the world was self taught. Dimebag Darrell of PanterA was self taught (Search "Dimebag darrells top solos" and see how great he was).
You don't need lessons mate! Im learning guitar right now by myself without lessons from people but yes every now and then i watch these videos for tips and pointers.
Hi'yaa, I'm 14 and I just got a guitar...! I was hoping to learn how to play soon...I can't really affored lessons right now, My neighbor might 'teach' me...But for now your lessons are helping! thanks man! ;D
I bought a mustang (Legend LMG-01) but my fingers are too small to reach for the chords>< am I doing something wrong with my hands? or is it just my hands are too small??? I'm 12, and really want to learn guitar...please answer my question orz.
Hi. Im only 11 years old, and I know about 3 notes on the guitar, but thats it, really. I would absolutely love to be able to play music by Justin Bieber soon, but will that take a long time? If you could do a video to help me, that would be awesome, or if you already have a video like that, please can you post the link. Please reply! Thanks
3 notes is a good beginning. :) I don't think it will take a long time, if you take some lessons or have someone to guide you along, that would really give you a jumpstart.
Hey, I just found this video because I'm currently saving the cash for an Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar and I have no idea how to play the guitar, But its my dream. And I'm just wondering if that guitar is a good choice for a beginner?
mister guitar guru, i will be getting a guitar/10W amp pack for my birthday, will my learning be somehow slowed down if i get a very cheap one for around 100 bucks on ebay? note: this will be my first guitar
@konradevelopeurope Hi there, i don't believe your learning will be "slowed down" in any way. Just that the quality of sound that your guitar/amp produces will be limited. Having said that, it's ok to start simple(or cheap), then as budget allows invest in better ones. :) Guitar playing is about developing skills thru practice.. you can do that with most guitars(except broken ones..haha!)
@marshey123 Hi Marshey, wow.. another young guitar hero to be! I'm glad you liked it. Have fun... hope you can find a guitar suitable to your size, so you can play properly. Electric guitar playing is one of the best. Enjoy your learning journey! ;-)
I've been playing electric guitar for 2 years now, and I wanna know how much experience it takes, to be able to do really fast shredding, and amazing solos, like from Metellica.
@MegaKirkHammet Hi there MegaKirkHammet, with consistent and dedicated practice, and good courses/instructors to guide you along, i believe one can soar to heights in 5 years. If you were to find out from Joe Satriani how many hours he practiced everyday, i'm sure you'll discover how much effort you need to put in to get there. Who knows, you may even make it in 2 or 3 years. All the best!
Hi there, you can start off with any guitar... you've got a very nice one. :) What you can do to start off quickly, is take up a course and you can learn at your own pace.. see (more info) at top right for links.
Hello there, I am thinking of buying a guitar very soon (Ben thing of it for years now). So I've ben looking around for a guitar and I think I found one it's an - IIBANEZ GRG170DX-BKN, for 229 euro. I wonder if it's worth the price and if it's an ok guitar. I am mainly going to play metal / doom / trash. But I am also going for some muse-ish sound (the band muse) so a + would be that it's versatile.
@hunterjumper1404 Hi there, learning can be hard for most things, especially at the beginning. Did you have a suitable guitar that suits your size? There are some guitars which are typically smaller for kids and you may find it easier to play those. Secondly, did you try to take up a course or something? Like the one introduced here(click on the link just below the video). You will find learning thru a course like this is Fun and Easy.
YOU are good enough. Let's throw the words "giving it up" out of the window.. :) EVERYONE can learn guitar! There are some links on the right(under "more info") that points you to free lessons, but of course, the paid ones are those you can learn Fastest and will help give you a solid foundation to your learning journey.
Wishing you all the Best in your learning journey!
its easy if you start off playing normal songs i.e just simple chorded songs like bob dylan or the beatles or something and then once you have the technique try looking at some tabs - theyre suprisingly easy to read/ play
You can start off with jamorama for a start(click 'more info' for links). If you've the budget, you can check out "learn and master guitar"(click on the blue box at bottom of the video).
Electric guitar would be nice. Need to get a small amplifier though, it's not costly.
Thanks alot dude!!!! I have about £200 budget and i would always stick to learning a guitar. Do you recommend i start off with electric because its my dream to learn Green Day - American idiot but i would start off at any ametuar level and build up.
You can try Learn and Master Guitar course - great comprehensive course!
As for electric guitar, for a start - you may find it bit heavy and need to turn on amp. Some folks I know started by practicing with acoustic guitar -it's lighter, no cables attached!
Can feel your passion! Get a course and practice hard! You'll go far.
I really want to learn to play the guitar, this seems to be a nice course! :]..oh and what is that song playing in the background? i have heard the part starting at about 1:00 before but can't remember where :/
