@TheLochNessNoobster Yes, the wands were home made! We made them by buying wood dowels from Home Depot and then shaving them off to wand shaped, after that we just painted them. They were super simple!

The effects are done in After Effects.

@TomTomStarcraft Thank you! All the tutorials are out there somewhere. I mostly learnt from videocopilot.  Youtube has some good tutorials for spells as well. I just played around with AE after that to find what works.

@TomTomStarcraft AE is definitely worth it. I used optical flares plugin from videocopilot. The flames and smokes are composited from videocopilot's "Action Essentials 2" pack. There's no real particle generating, as I don't know how to do those yet.
