oh they do i never notice that or could tell the diffrence .. well i got mine on saturday at petco ... and the other one i have this lady sold it to me she breeds hers .. well im going to be looking to get me one i really luv having them around my kids really luv them too..

i got both of mine at pet stores - one at petsmart and the other at petco. but that was rare - i haven't seen any of them since. the pet stores usually only have the 'abby's" or the smooth hair.

just check around for local breeders of Peruvian guinea pigs.

good lucki they really are adorable - not just the hair but the noses are flatter , not so long and pointed.

Actually, the small brown one and the large white one are called abbysinians - that's probably what you have. Their hair doesn't get any longer. \

The other 2 - Phoebe & Nyah are Peruvian - their hair just keeps growing. In this video, I had just gave them a haircut. Check out my other vids of how long their hair gets.

No, Abbys cannot grow their hair long like Peruvians. As far as how fast--?? I keep it trimmed around their rump and if it drags on the floor--just easier to keep them clean.

Yep--very spoiled with love. We've since taken that outside for them to eat the lovely grass. Put a roof on it and all--should get a video of that soon. It's very cool--kinda like a fort. Anyway---beautiful weather down here--in the 70's & 80's.

How often do you have to wash the fleece bedding?

Well, about every other day it needs washed. I have quite a few pieces and save them all for one load. It all depends whether or not they decided to use their potty or the fleece for peeing. It's still easier, cleaner, and cheaper than filling the whole cage with bedding. Hope that answers your ???
