I have a Jack Chi, and I think these are perhaps one of the most intelligent dogs I have ever encountered. Once they understand the hierarchy of the household and the rules you set forth firmly, they conform, and as they mature, they actually watch your behavior and speech patterns to understand what you're saying. It's amazing. Their intelligence level is supreme. Mine is slowly getting older now. And I just want him to last forever, because I know there will never be another one like him.
She is bootiful! I too have a Chirussell. Chi's & Russells can be hyper/stubborn. That doesn't stop us loving them. Why does it always have to be about Obedience & Training? There is a time and a place for everything. It IS ok once in a while to let a dog throw a 'wobbler' this is her personality showing through! If I wanted a dog to do as it's told, when it's told, ALL the time, then I just wouldn't bother owning an animal. They ALL have a mad hour! My dogs are part of our family, not 'owned'.

@TheJackchizrulz Character is not the same as out-of-control. Your dog should be sufficiently trained so as not to be anti-social when being taken out (i.e. barking at everything; pulling on lead; etc.) or destructive at home. Dogs without clear boundaries are not happy animals, in my opinion. Training is not the same thing as making a dog a robot. It just requires more effort than some lazy dog owners are willing to invest in their pet.

Nothing has been forced on them and I have never forced orders on them. I'am wheelchair bound my dog never pulls and has never destroyed anything in his life. He has grown up with me and any unwanted behaviour I ignore wanted behaviour is praised. A dog isnt a trophy or a robot it is a member of your family.
