Haha no, I'm voting no on Prop 8 because marriage isn't just a right, it's a responsibility. If a lesbian couple adopts a kid, there is no reason why the parents have to take care of the kid.

Proposition 8 is NOT an attack on gay couples and does not take away the rights that same-sex couples already have under California’s domestic partner law. California law already grants domestic partners all the rights that a state can grant to a married couple. Gays have a right to their private lives, but not to change the definition of marriage for everyone else.

Did African Americans get "special" rights when they first were included in marriage rights? The definition of marriage has changed many times, always for the better.

It takes 2/3 of legislature and 75% of participating Americans votes to approve an amendment. I wouldn't be surprised if we passed an amendment between 2040 and 2050 that legalized gay marriage on the national level.

The point why there's so much propaganda with the gay right movement that people claim to be "brainwashing people and kids" is because we still live in a society that does not recognize the rights of homosexuality. Once there's equal rights to people of all sexual orientation, i doubt people would try to promote further agendas. Gay couple would be just like straight couples, minding their own business.

People have accused the Yes on 8 campaign of using and indoctrinating kids, but it looks like No on 8 is doing the same. Obviously little kids are being taught to advocate gay marriage. These people are using their kids for their own gain. Is there anyone else who thinks this is wrong, for both Prop 8 campaigns?

Yes, it is wrong. It certainly counters the thesis of the "my epiphany" youtube video.

And this is truly the fundamental problem w/this issue--forcing all children to be taught about gay marriage and homosexual relationships in school, despite what the parents want.

On a personal level, gays being married is not a problem for me. But I would be livid if my son's 1st grade teacher took him on a field trip to a gay wedding or taught him anything relating to gay sex. I'm the parent.

Of course homosexual content should absolutely be apart of the public school curricula, in the same way it is apart of college curricula. You must remember that people are 100% born homosexual, we all new when we were children, teaching this will not make kids gay, that is impossible.

I'm in against prop 8, cause I'm gay, and I think kids should be somehow left out of manifestations, not beacuse they are indoctrinated... I mean, not in this case. I feel their being "taught" to respect other people, so, it's ok if they participate in this kind of thing... however, I'f these kids were protesting with their parents in favor of death penaly, that wouldn't be right

haha, this is just a kid on the street in an informal interview. Yes on prop 8 hire child actors to read their scripts which does not portray what is going on in the child's head and that's why it is considered using them.

I went to some protests and marches and vigils and stuff when I was a little girl and I don't think it harmed me any. I think if it's okay if kids are involved when their parents are being politically active, you know, as long as it's peaceful and everything. I wouldn't take my kids to an angry or violent protest. But I don't see anything wrong with this. I mean, kids marched in the civil rights movement, didn't they?

You are mistaken that America is a Democracy where the majority always rules. While that may be true when it comes to things like Measure R, or Props 3,5,7,10, or 11. However when it comes to our inherent rights, we are a Republic where every adult American has a "constitutionally guaranteed right" to their own "Pursuit of Happiness" to choose for themselves whom they want to love & marry. And the majority may not vote away the rights nor privileges of the minority. And so 8 WILL BE overturned !
