Ok, it isn't like Tarja has stopped playing music. She has a solo career doing symphonic metal and you can always tune in to her material. Secondly, if she and Nightwish weren't getting along, wouldn't it just suck if you had just bought tickets to their concert only to have it cancelled because the concert was cut short over their feud? They seem to be cool about it and they didn't just break up like most groups do. They just changed singers.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Anette and Tarja look like sisters? Also, although there seems to be a lot of debate over who is the better singer or who is better for the band, I don't think it is a question of quality. Rather, they are equally gifted but each has her own unique style. To my ears, Tarja has a more operatic approach and Anette seems more of a rocker, but both are very well accomplished and fit very nicely with the band's musical genre both in the past and now.

I Agree with DarthFennec. Tarja has a powerful voice. Everyone has the own capacity, nobody is better than the other person. Anette has a really soft voice that makes dream all the time she sings. Marco has a great voice that I unfortunately don't have. Tuomas is another one of the band that makes dream with his keyboards. What I want to say is that all people are good and on my opinion that little sentence "better than" doesn't exist.

@TheMetalHead102 The "fat opera lady" would be the one that wouldn't fit the band. Nightwish is much more rock/metal than classic/operatic, and because of the whole band structure, not just Tarja. Also, being commercial isn't, necessarily, a bad thing, EVERYTHING nowadays is commercial, no one releases 5 albums and don't want to get money from it. And they don't, necessarily, would love their 'art' in the process.

The fact that she stepped into shoes that she didn't fill, by the time, and during a stressful 2 year-long tour, quickly as fuck, evolved so that she could fill that shoe makes her a VERY talented singer, I've never seen someone develop the technique and get better and better each day like Anette did.
