  • thumbs up for NWA

  • I got burned on the Ipod as well and no refund or anything.

All I am going to say is: Thank god Steve's dead!

  • first of all your a hater. second of all i had the ipod classic 5th gen. and i bought it in the fourth grade then i got a ipod touch at the end of eighth grade and my ipod classic was still working perfectly and i sold it to a friend and it was still working decently even after being drop multiple times so i think apple is a very reliably company

  • @Dariann14 We've had three. One quit after 6 mths. Apple replaced it. The next one quit after 2 mths. We thought it was our charger, so we replaced it. Nope, so apple replaced it 4 mths later. The next one quit after 6 weeks and this time the warranty was up and apple refused to replace it and would charge us to call them. So, apple sucks.

  • And that why Android is better

  • I think this built to fail/planned obsolescence technology should be banned by law - the highest standards shd be used, it is our environment that suffers waste is dumped on 3rd world it is DISGRACEFUL behaviour by rich companies that should be held accountable. Watch The lightbulb conspiracy (free on documentary heaven/other websites, may even be on you tube). I will start a Gov petition about this - its a disgusting habit for companies in the 21st century supposedly touting green policies!

  • I replaced a hard drive on a power book last year. 32 screws of two different types, removing keyboard, memory, everything. Took me hours and I'm not a novice at working on electronics. My old HP laptop... hard drive replaced with three screws in five minutes. And Apple gets the awards for design?

  • That's not true I had mine more than 18 and it's fine

  • there are 3rd party producers making batteries for old and new Ipod's.

unless your not a tech geek that's not tempted to open up an Ipod.

replacing the batteries arent that hard

  • APPLE HAS ALREADY FIXED THE PROBLEM EVERYONE!

  • batteries are not forever so if cannot replace it means iPods are disposable devices. I have never bought anything with an "i" in the front

  • @rickymontero Ipod's and many other devices are "Expendable"

  • @PinoyPogiman I owned a Palm centro for many years, Now I have an android and gave the Palm centro to my dad, just bought a new battery and new stylus and is new again. I do not expect these devices are forever, but at least 3 or more years. AND I still have many other older devices like a pocket PC smartphone, a sony clie palm and these has like 7 or 8 years old and they work perfectly

  • @rickymontero pretty much. as long as you treat it nice. it'll pay off in possible profit in the far future.

the batteries of Ipods are of course rechargable, but to keep it lasting long. always charge it.

if you dont charge it for awhile, while its dead; the cells can actually lose the memory to juice up a potential charge

  • @PinoyPogiman U are right im sure, but not having the chance to replace them is somekind of scam... If you buy a product u should have the right to keep it working as long as you can, I see no purpose on this battery limitation other than "commercial greed" Small gadgets doesnt have to be disposable.

  • @rickymontero yea, now. Apple's products are getting harder to open.

but at least some of their older model's (5g Ipod classic) is pretty easy to open and replace the battery inside it

  • @rickymontero but hey, i do need an MP3 player. and I find ipods pretty reliable for that job, i dont like to be a fanatic of a big corporation which i kind of dislike: Gamestop, Walmart, etc. and im not interested enough to get a new(but similar) touch screen device every year as fast as they make em.

    i mean. i wouldnt use a Zune...

  • express you self!

  • ive had my ipod forrr... leme think... i think almost 2.5 years... the battery is still good on it

  • I've had my apple shuffle for 4 years now. It's still running great.

  • Fuck all the "i"'s and the bloody imbecilles that but them year after year after year.

    IDIOTS

  • this asshole has BALLS

  • @PenultimateRun

Happily using my 6 year old HTC Wizard a.k.a. T-Mobile MDA. I can do anything an equivalent iPod or iPhone can do...oh, wait, they didn't have one back then. LOL Plugs into and works well with my New Ford Sync, too.

Jobs is a genius, it's his customers' common sense I doubt.

  • Oh look and I'm watching this on an iPod Touch.

  • @SkyFallXIII

Sure, and you've voided your warranty doing it.

  • lol Apple. Steve Jobs better get really good at sucking my dick if he ever wants me to buy his overpriced garbage. Say NO to brand exclusivity, built in obselescence, and invasion of privacy. Say no to Apple.

  • @DHScherocha UMADBRO?

  • @bitchkiller96 You an apple fanboi bro? Did you cry when your hero died?

  • @DHScherocha lol wtf the only thing i own from Apple is a iPod and that it i didn't really like apple i'm more of a Nokia(phones),dell(pcs) and other stuff ;)

  • Thanks for your efforce and results! :D

  • it is true

  • I had an ipod that lasted longer than that. I just made sure to not wear down the battery every time.

That said, I didn't pay 250 dollars just to have my ipod last for only two years. If the battery dies and I can't get it replaced, I'll buy a different mp3 player. Screw Apple.

  • I saw this in new York

  • easy to change lots of replacement batterys on the net

    APPLE ROCKS

  • I saw this video thanks to a french television programme on planned obsolescence where industrial groups create on purpose bad quality products to sell over and over again. Please join the movement thezeitgeistmovementdotcom to stop this insane litter production that ends on the toxic waste belts in Ghana, Africa. Another example in the programme : epson printer stops service due to a processor built that counts your impressions. A russian IT man created software to reset that counter and works

  • GO VANDALISM!!

  • NO es vandalismo...vandalismo es comprar algo SABIENDO quien lo vende que te está ENGAÑANDO

  • Vandalism!!!!!

  • @PenultimateRun a sealed unit makes the device better quality. mine lasted for 4 years so stuff you

  • @madman123f1 Actually it doesn't, because the device can still be sealed and preventing from dust entering the electronics while keeping the battery compartment separate.

  • i just bought an ipod... great -_-

  • my barytery is fine

  • Ive had my ipod video for 5+ yrs and it still works fine

  • Nice one. Mine was about 3 years old though when i couldnt take any more. I just replaced the battery with a kit from ebay. £5 bargain.

  • 250$ O.O

  • Awsome video bro

  • Nice vid

  • i put a battery in my g5 30 gb video that makes it last for like a week so like 48hrs of straight music and it was only 50 bucks and came with all the tools and the larger back plate to fit the battery

  • You probably killed the battery by running it to low too many times. I've had mine for over three years and it still works fine. I try not to run it below 50% before a recharge. Try iFixit.com.

  • @marshgre actually this is a really bad idea with rechargeable batteries. This will mean the battery runs down faster and faster, you should let it go as low as possible before recharging it.

  • @bonuscheesemilk That is only true for the older NiCad batteries. New Lithium ion batteries act much like older lead acid batteries and do not respond well to deep cycling. That is why most hybrid cars only cycle their batteries down to 80% or so.

  • @marshgre Well, you learn something new every day! I'll be more careful with my Li-ion batteries from now on, thanks.

  • i have an ipod nano 1st gen that is still working.

  • I'm a fan of your work. Connect with me on facebook by clicking How To Do Internet Marketing The Right Way

  • Wait, can you get all the info off and on to your new one? If not then THAT sucks.

  • Just buy a battery for ten bucks and replace it yourself. Apple makes it hard to do but if you solder a bit you can replace it.

Ridiculous to charge you 250 bucks to replace a frick'in battery. Some 3rd party sites online will charge less than 25 bucks for the same job.

  • i started with the original ipod video/classic (the white one) the day it came out and just replaced it two days ago...and not because the battery died either. That's waaaay longer than 18 months.

  • Man these guys are good, their show on HBO Is amazing to say the least.

  • @PenultimateRun ha, old school just like me, no need for software or updates only drag and drop.

  • Old iPods did not have chargers I did not know that?

  • they where just lazy cheapskates. At least they made a charger now.

  • Irreplaceable

  • Song called?

  • @SSP567JRA

    Expess Yourself by N.W.A.

  • lmfao ..my stomach couldn't have hurt nymore from lol

  • cool video

  • haha i bought an ipod mini when they first came out. so easy to get into it and replace the battery. and i even replaced the micro hard drive with a 16gig flash card. works perfect, and i dont think ill ever need some newer ipod which seem to fail epically

  • THE NAME OF THE SONG, Playing please!!!

  • express yourself by NWA

the sample was also called express yourself by some charles guy

  • hahaha go zune!!!had mine 2 years and still going strong!!!....but thats why i expanded my knowledge on how to fix common electronics such as the i-pod....i fix mine and friends electronics for cheap and make some extra bucks also lol

  • how did you like it on December 31 2008?

  • i didnt suffer from that error it was mainly the 4 and 8 gigs that malfunctioned

  • Perfectly fine it worked through and through.

  • i'll never buy an ipod xD

  • nice one, go for zune, way better

  • Xp wow

  • lol that was funny

  • and also the ipod unreplacable battery is there 4 a reaason , if you fuck up ur battery u need to buy antother ipod , fucking dirty trick, trying to get you to waste money

  • ipod's are soo compact that they r brittle to drops

    your either kill the battery

    or you kill the ipod

  • hmm i dropped mine quite a few times and it still works great.....

  • Lol gud on ya!

  • lol

  • ive had mine 3 years and it hasnt crashed

    YET!

  • I've had 3 iPod's (3rd gen 4th gen and 5th gen) and THEY ALL CRASHED! it's either the battery or hard drive. 3 of my friends also crashed, i STRONGLY recomend zune, they have yet to fail me. iPods let me down so bad.

  • it was the opposite for me i had the zune it broke in 5 days i got a new one and i dropped it and it broke!

so i got an ipod and it hasnt failed me ....yet

  • Zunes had a crazy crash 2 or 3 months ago. They both are equal too. I repair ipods. Anyone have question send a message. I love my 2nd gen ipod touch!! Crashes can be easy to fix

  • i've got an ipod shuffle, the long rectangular one from 2-3 years ago. the problem is it is not picking up the earphones, i put the earphones in the socket and it flashes green and orange the same as when there are no earphones inserted, any advice?

  • you guys are idiots apple has made policy changes concerning this problem that is very real, if you somehow got a gen 3 or earlier ipod to last that long consider yourself very lucky

  • Oh god. What a waste of life.

Not only did you probably ruin it yourself, since I have an Ipod that lasted 3 years (until I dropped it) and I know people that have it last longer.

So not only did you waste your time, you probably got in trouble.

  • what song is that

  • ive had my ipod video 3 1/2 years now, never had a prob with it, but when i bought it the guy at the shop told me that apple had been prone to the batterys crapping out so said the best thing to do is get extended warranty thru the shop... so either way someones making money out of it!!!!

  • Im not a apple fan but this isent true... research.

    The years the warranty...

  • Yeah, this is how these M.F.rs make their money; by ripping us off! You can't tell me that crApple can't make ipods with easily replaceable batteries that we could change ourselves.

  • omg if you dont leave it on and sleep with it in and BLAST it loud, itll last long

  • whats the poin of even having one then? seriously!

  • ha

    no

    had mine's for 4 years

    4years=48 months

    2 years= 24months

    0ne year=12months

  • you tell em man

  • 255 Bucks Can Get You A NEw Ipod.

Whats the Point In Replacing a Battery When You Can gEt A New One.

But. Youll Be Wasting $510 For 2 Ipods.

Then when the Battery Comes Down Again.

$760 But By that time, theres new better ones.

  • this is bs i've had my ipod for 5 years this guy is a douche thinking what he is doing is actually changing something

  • NWA IS COOL!

  • good work guys!

  • woo n1

  • cool, you guys are responsible for cheap battery replacements in ipods.

  • lol i like your enthusiasm nd dedication to let the world know how you feel about apple lols

  • There rae better and cheaper mp3 players than iPod, not to mention new cell phones' features.

  • u get em told

  • It's 65.00 without mailing fee now.

  • You see? When a country's citizens actually make a stand, shit gets done. If a government, company, or business does something unjust or corrupt, EVERY citizen needs to do something about it. The reason things are so awful in this country right now is because people just accept that they're getting screwed instead of doing something about it.

Obviously you're not the first person to get fucked by Apple, but you went and did something about it. Thank you for helping the cause.

  • Wow and I really wanted thanks for the info . I will stick with my Blackberry Curve now!

  • r u fcking serius...to replace a battery it costs 255$ but to buy a brand new ipod its only gunna cost you about 140$...apple's gotta learn math...

  • Nice one mate. Stick it to the man.

  • OMG, this is one case, were is the proof. Mine has lasted 3 years, along with my bro's whos lasted 2 1/2.

  • I would've been pissed too, but mine has lasted about 2 years now, and has had no battery problems.

  • "It's an urban legend that you should let your iPod's battery run down completely before you charge it to maximize overall battery life. In truth, this seriously harms it. However, you should run down the battery once every month." -iPod, iTunes, and music online (a book)

  • Great video, only now it's outdated. Now, it only costs you $59 to replace a battery. But, back then, I agree, what a dirty little secret...

Was that phone call at the beginning real?

  • i still luv ipods. just take care of yor ipod. charge it more often. keep it away from water, dirt, dust, etc........

  • nice vid but i still love ipod

  • IPODS SUCK

  • i have a ipod nano to. it works to but the reason thay say that is thay want to make money.

it also depends on how much you use it. anather words how much you charge it.

  • i have an 80 gig new ipod classic that ive had for 18months and it works just like it did wheni bought it.

  • I just got a battery replacement for my 2 1/2 year old iPod for $25. Now it's just like new.

  • REBEL!!!!! COMMIES SUCK!

  • I have a 1G iPod nano and i have 2 yrs with it and the battery is still working

  • shut up

  • this was made before you could actually get a battery replacement. so pretty much a 200$ dollar product was useless after a year or so thats what its saying.

  • who fuckin cares its not magic its not gunna last forever ipods arent even expensive for the quality of product u get.. and if ur mad at ur self for spending 300 bucks on one 18 months is quite a ways a way to spend that much again

  • maybe for you rich cunt

  • totally agree with you, fucking rich jackass. stfu. some people cant afford another ipod, but the only way is to replace a new battery.

  • I TOTALLY AGREE. What a rich fucking asshole.

  • No just the orriginal back in the day ipod was like that

but who knows what bugs the new ones mite have

  • no, this vid was made 4 years before the i-touch

  • hey is it true ?????? does the ipod touch too have an 18 months battry??????????HELP!!!!!!!!!!!...AND WAIT HOW CAN THE BATTERY BE IRRAPLACEBAL????

  • Apple sucks, they are full of fruits.

  • What the fuck are you talking about?

Jesus Christ, if your going to crucify something back it up with something factual.

I bet this is just Zune's darkside

  • great job man..........dont need to pay 200 just get 1 from ebay 4 $20

  • Buy a new battery on ebay for $6, installs in less than 5 mins.

  • well done, we get the message 100%.

don't know why pople buy ipod for $300 or $400

may because ipod convert and pay your music on mp4 files format ! dum

i love to keep my music mp3.

  • omg shut up

  • i guess depends on your usage. Ive had mine for like...2 years. It's still good

  • neat

  • That should teach Apple, but why aer there so many ads wherever you live? In england we only get like one or two a street in cities.

  • woah thats pretty cool - I mean the whole rebelling and spray painting thing. Not the fact that you're ipods battery is dead

  • very nice video

  • The video is great! Thanks :)

  • well done. apple are a bunch of robbing bastards

  • well i guess the guy answered your call was bad... but if u just go to apple's website, go to Support > iPod, on the bottom right corner click on "Battery Service"

    it cost $59 + $6.95Shipping = $65.95

  • glad I never cared for cheap gizmos made by crap companies...
