I am using this piece as an audition song for a music scholarship at my school, I got advice from one of the school's music professors yesterday, and he was the person to let me know that the song throughout, except possibly the interlude, should sound march-like. I believe I'm having trouble with keeping an even tempo in the passage at 0:38 and goes all the way until the sixteenth note passage. When I try to bring the tempo up to speed I believe I start to drag some of the notes a bit.
I like how you made the beginning rather march-like. The phrasing marking on my arrangement says "Tempo di marcia un poco vivace). Marcia means march like, and un poco vivace means a little spirited. You did great in accomplishing both those things.
lovely middle section. i only pick that bit out because the audio is a bit rough in the other sections, which were also very well played. i just bought the sheet music for this myself
Ah I remember this song. :D I played it for my gr. 10 conservatory when I was in gr. 6. My hands were a little small so that octave sequence was a bit difficult, but the song was a lot of fun to play.
among several mistakes (most of them little), the biggest one is this at 0:53: it's not a flat B, it is natural, making an EbAug, not major!! you should be a lot more careful with the reading aspect
Well played, indeed! I have a friend who played this piece at your age. I kept asking him to play over and over again, until he had enough of it! xD However, now he has forgotten quite a lot of it, but a pianists hands never forget, as they say! I'll have to make him dust it up again. He was much too shy to play it publically, but he did the middle part a lot slower, and I like that best, but that's just my opinion. I've only played for two years, so I haven't the courage to try this myself! ;D
I too. Was impressed by your techneque but if you slowed down, you wouldve been moreprecise and your emotions wouldkick in more. Always think before you play what speed you can play it best remember
I think she's really really good, techinically! But I think it should be played a bit more slowly, not so fast because if you play it that fast you loose all the emotions of the piece and you can't really enjoy it ;)
what is your point about hearing the melody over and over again? just because you've "played the piano since the first class" it makes you an expert and gives you the right to tell her she's not a pianist at all. please upload a video of you playing this and then i'll respect everything you said.
that's what practice is. playing it over and over until you get it right. so what if she's not perfect? the point is you told her that she wasn't a pianist at all, and that was wrong.
good. and when you're done learning it which probably will take a while since you'll be too busy trying to prove me wrong, post a video.
thats great that you heard a better version.. bet it was the original. and somebody is always going to make a mistake because music is all about interpretation; just because you think what she's playing is completely wrong.
i never said it would hurt YOUR ears, i was talking to her. because she shouldn't pay attention to people like you.
what gave you the impression that i was going to apologize?
you're right. it does hurt. the same hurt she feels when she reads your stupid comments.
i dont think that she is playing completely wrong.. O-o'' .. she shouldnt pay attention to people like me ? i am like what? i dont say that she is shit or something negative. in opposite. she gives her best and that is what i like about her. its Not perfect, but she still posted.
Dont listen to that.
-> you are talking to whom ?
i dont post a vid ^^ not for someone like you who always strick up in each sentence
(i think we have another definition of Pianist ;] )
you know, i really don't care anymore. and it's not worth arguing over, or really worth my time. so good luck with whatever you're going to do, and fine whatever don't make me a video. it really won't affect me.
i think you're really good! i just got this song and learned the first page and a half today but i still have like 8 1/2 more pages to learn. you're very talented. how long have you been playing the piano?
I played this piece in First year University, great piece! When going through those runs in the left hand, make sure you're not too tense, thats was my downfall. Take your time through the middle section, let it sing! Have fun with it!
great I was at the same age when i strated but it tooks me more time now I continui learning,I'm 16 but I find it pretty difficult I agree with u it gets better in time :]
very good, i've played this song for my last concert. just try to make those dynamics really drastic, and dont let the pedal drain out the melody. good job though (:
wow, you truly are an amazing artist. i am 14 and i'm playing JD's Boogie Woogie right now. i can't wait until it sounds like yours. where do you take lessons? next year i'm going to the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT.
damn near perfect! I wish this was recorded with better sound quality so I could hear the big and passionate bangs of the chords. At any rate, this was quite refreshing to hear cause it's so much better than most of the videos of this piece I've been searching through, and I'm not just saying that because you're a fair looking young lady :p
Hello i would just like to say i love hearing this. WOW! i think you're really good, great phrasing, good rhythm theres a recording of Grieg himself playing this. how long did it take you to get this down?

don't listen to that. it is practically impossible to play this song perfect
pinkdonut123 2 years ago
everything is possible e_e .. but do you know how boring/hard it is to hear everyday the same melody ?
better collecting experience and next time you'll do it better . she is not a pianist at all , but she gives her best .

really :D ? omg . dont overdo it.
she is NOT BAD even NOT PERFECT.
and the thing with Expert.. in opposite. i just start to play this ;) .
i heard a better version, thats what said about your ''pratically impossible''.
She worked hard for this and i know that this piece is very difficult. Why do you say that this here may hurt ears? -> '' dont listen to that ''
Thats the point ^^
but i dont want you to apologize .
it just hurts to read such an ugly comment.
