it takes someone of above average curiousity i think to really focus and care about the subtleties and transitions that make dnb and electronic music move....  any one can listen to a typical lyrical song and appreciate it, but it's subtle changes to the ear that make a song truly sonically interesting.. most folks just don't have the attention span it takes to pay attention unless the song is sonically obvious... Hey frkgod,

From my experience working with drum and bass music (listening and producing), commonly basses tend to be heavily modulated in order to keep them moving and shifting and morphing throughout the track, rather than simply a Sawtooth bass playing a couple notes that really has no flavour other than a bit of distortion. Here Spor is probably running the bass through a couple filters and modulating the frequency/resonance on each of them. Or he is layering basses.

Either way, it's sick!

yeah dude easy. grab a saw tooth bass and add about 5 or 6 layers of the same saw tooth, detune them to span either side (+ and -) and then oscilate, resonate, filter, morph, and modulate each layer to creae a different growl sound. use gates to jump through them for the growing pulse like sound. its just a practice / experience think
