  • The only fail I see is this failure to bash one of the perfect gaming mice on the market lol. When you actually hold the mouse propperly, there is no movement.

  • So what happens when you tighten in halfway?

  • It takes 5 seconds to fix, as demonstrated in this video. A mouse designed for customizability isn't going to fit your hand out of the box, they expect that you will change settings and customize it as soon as you open it anyway. Get over it.

  • What are you smoking dude? I have one of these and find it's one of the flattest mice I ever owned. It's taking some time to find my perfect adjustment for me, but it's the smoothest one I have had. The darn thing won't twist a bit with that "girder" for a main support. If I hit someone with it I could knock them out, how many mice can claim that?

  • @CyberP07 It does happen. The thumb rest is not always straight and may need twisting upwards. Mine was OK after doing that though.

It doesn't help that the mouse in the video was seemingly resting on the least stable surface in the history of Earth.

  • what?

  • The wireless RAT9 is just as bad. I've used mine for a month, the thumb buttons went from clicky, to not clicky, to not working at all. Biggest waste of money ever. And the wireless version has the same tracking problem as the wired one. It doesn't sit flat on the table. Worse mouse ever.

  • I use the rat 9 wireless mouse. its awesome.

  • @gamez12100 pfft, the wireless version has the same problem, doesn't sit flat on the desk. Virtually useless for sniping on FPS games.

  • @zadarnowski whatevs, it sits properly on a normal desk and the precison button works great for sniping. Stop hating would ya?

  • @gamez12100 nahhh, its nothing but looks, and poorly manufactured. Worst mouse ever. And any mouse which buttons break after a week of use is worthless and cheap.

  • @zadarnowski I know, good thing I bought the rat 9. lol

  • @zadarnowski Just twist your thumb rest upwards a bit. Sorted it out for me. After that the only time it ever rocked around was if I put too much weight on the very back/right corner of the mouse.

  • Rats own

  • This video shows a serious problem with the mouse. I want to love this mouse so badly, but it just won't let me. First I had to toss it away because the vertical sensor stopped working now and again. Today I took it out again and tried without the mouse mat. Seemed to work better that way. But then the mouse click wobble became apparent. Tried squeezing everywhere while tightening the screw but nothing worked. I guess I'll try the top comment suggestion. 43 likes can't be wrong right?

  • i think you are talking about the wobble of the mouse when clicking on it. I cant be sure because all you do is point at the mouse and click the button. i see a wobble. but if that is what you are talking about maybe think about what you are doing. the weight of your hand will balance it plus you can add weight to the rear (i beleive they are 6 gram weights). if it is the wobble it's human error not product error. if it's the wobble then carry on.

  • i dont understand what is the failure

  • @TheBlader9 I finally worked out what this guy was on about now that I own a RAT 7.

The thumb rest is not perfectly level with the surface, so pressing the mouse buttons makes the mouse rock. It is actually quite a problem. You sort it out by twisting the thumb rest upwards slightly

  • @TheBlader9 If you watch the video, when you adjust the thumb out, and press the left or right mouse button, it isn't level anymore and wobbles on its base.

  • i dont think you are holding you finger up and spamming the left button, i think you have your hand on it and click normally lol

  • if that's how you're gaming, fine :) I hold my hand on top of mouse and pressing it down ..

  • I have one in my hads and dont have that problem maybe you souldnt bought a chinese copy

  • That was the most pointless s**t that I have ever seen... RTFM! PLEASE!

  • and the point is!

  • I heard there was a faulty batch with this problem but it has been fixed in more recent designs but I might be wrong.

  • Why don't you screw the thing while it's flat on the table lol

  • u dudnt put the other side the handle dude its in the RAT 7 box u nid it to balance the mouse!!!

  • I dont have a problem with mine, but that must be because I am putting my whole hand over it to use the mouse as intended.

  • Friend, okay? I'm having a big problem with this mouse model, and you leave him standing out of nowhere he starts to shake myself, I tried reinstalling the drivers, software, switched to another computer and continue with the same problem, I made the purchase of a mouse pad Thermaltake conkor control edition and just getting worse, would have any suggestions, big hug, thank you.

  • YOUR SUPOSE TO PUT YOUR WHOLE HAND ON IT IDIOT OMG ITS WIIGLEING CUZ MY HANDS NOT IN IT OMG YOUR HAND ADDS NEEDED WHEGHT ON IT

  • Urs broken noob

  • you suck i have no problems with it

  • the table's shaking so much, i can't see the difference

  • I just tested my mouse which is the same ... which does NOT have this issue ??? I think I'll start replying with videos this is nonsense.

  • reading instructions does help now doesn't it :)

  • I got a RAT mouse as well, very disappointed. Damm MadCats and their flimsy accessories... I'm sticking with Razer forever.

  • whats the fail here? you tighten the bold after you move it... user fail is more like it

  • @rich1051414

Look at the mouse as it vibrates after he tightens the bolt to fasten it. Then look at the mouse as it doesn't vibrate as he loostens it.

  • i see your point...

  • cant see whats wrong sorryy ^^

  • @plastikpunk2 the mouse is tilting to the left after titening the screw

  • im using a RAT 9 right now and im having no problem with this...

  • you're not clicking the mouse right..

  • @gerraldd i think hes actually playing games like this :D

  • I like the default position for my thumb piece, and while I've looked over the mouse to see what it's all about, I never knew there was a bolt on the inside!

  • Your table is wobbling, so this might be you're table's fault not the mouse's.

  • big deal are you gonna cry about it?

  • You have fat hands, I'm guessing they are attached to a fat body.

  • What are you even trying to show? I've watched this three times now, I don't get it.

  • are those exhaust ports on the back lol

  • ur not even doing it right the mouse doesnt fail ur the one who fails

  • What are you thinking dude! You have to have it on a flat surface while you tighten the screw!!!!!!!! My god!

  • You're just one dumb idiot...

If you want to show a failure with the mouse movement don't use an unstable surface !!!

No wonder the mouse moves down if you press the button from the upper direction -.- this isn't a bug it's just your foolishness not holding the mouse with your hand while clicking... You know that's what you do with a mouse... Hold it !!!!

Oh and i tried this mouse for some time along with some of my friends and nothing like that ever happend to us (neither the lift it up cursor

  • I have a problem where I can't screw in the thumb adjustment thing with the tool

  • Just nerds nitpicking, the weight of my hand keeps my rat flat on a table all the times with no issues. I dont feel the need to sit and tap the front of it like that when trying to kill ppl in BC Vietnam.. which is awesome btw :D

  • what the fuck ? ..

  • Bad engineered piece of mouse. Tried mine RAT7 but it has not that problem.

  • What are we looking at?

  • I must get lucky with all the products I buy, they all work fine with zero hassle.

I always here of these issues.

  • @LightningPC101

No your like me, not picky, you get what you get and most the time its awesome!

  • It seems many dont't understand the point of thid vid, so I'll explain.

Many of the places you can buy this from, there have been people complaining that when you press one of the buttons, the mouse rocks as it's not flat.

This vid simply explains that you need only make and adjustment to have it slide smoothly with no rocking effect.

  • @earthwalkerqq you fing idiot, you're worse than the fool who made the video

  • Oooh I see ! But when you got finger on that and clicking it wont ... I think that is how to use mouse ... ...

  • Forever Alone

  • I don't get it ? What's wrong ...

  • @SgtLegous It dips when you click > not the big a deal, but that mouse will set you back atleast £80

  • To everyone who says it's no big deal: For the price you pay for this mouse it's a big deal if it isn't even stable on a flat surface

  • Its not a big problem. my logitech nano v450 does that a little bit and it doesnt but me at all.

  • Notice how the table wobbles like a bitch? That probably means it's uneven. Oh no! I've had the mouse for almost 4 months now and I've never had this issue...

  • i don't get it what is hapening everything i see is that he loosens the bolt everytime after he has clicked the buttons

  • I had the same problem. Tried pushing down in the middle as someone else said, but that didn't work. What I did was loosen the bolt, pick the mouse up and pull the thumb rest DOWN, then tighten it. Worked like a charm and it feels rock solid now.

  • som one have banged the mouse to hard on the table and - next time try full mouse and flat surface XD

  • moron!

  • IS IT FOR MAC!?

  • @Andres8948 No, but they're working on it apparently. At the moment it's almost completely unusable with a mac.

  • @Andres8948 it has more than 1 button, so no.

  • WTH?

  • retarded mouse is retarded, simple as that

  • @Perspar1 this mouse is only as retarded as the user

  • @Perspar1 obvious post is obvious, and well it wouldn't really show while your using the mouse...

  • Maybe you bought a broken mouse? If you have a waranty you can replace it for the one that isn't broken

  • Quoted from; hardforum(.)com/showthread.php?t=1484148&page=15

If any of you find issues when the thumb rest is tightened, try the following:

    1. Loosen the bolt

    2. Adjust the thumb rest to where you want it

    3. Place the mouse on a flat, hard surface

    4. Press down very firmly on the middle of the mouse - the section where R.A.T. is printed

    5. Tighten the bolt fully whilst pressing down on the mouse

    See if that helps.

I figured it was worth reposting here for the people who have the issue.

  • @MrWhothefuckever

    I've just recieved my RAT7.

Mine has the rocking issue even worse than in the video, even with the bolt loosened it still wobbles, making doubble clicking very hard.

I love the rest of the mouse, so I'mjust going to have to modify the thumb rest myself to fix it, but be fairly warned!

  • @MrWhothefuckever Tried this several times, but alas... I almost pressed the damn mouse through the desk, lol. I think I'll just cut the cord off and hang it on display. That's all this piece of crap mouse is good for.

  • It may just be that he needed to be pushing down on the mouse when he tighted it down

  • Dude who cares if it does that?! your palm will pushing down on the back end of the mouse and that wont happen?...

  • @dmcgamingclan

People are complaining about it because it clearly is a problem, not everyone holds their palm firmly on the back of the mouse for one thing.

I think if a mouse this expensive has a fault like this it's commendable to display it in a clear manner. It's up to you to decided if it's going to be a problem for you, personally, I'm taking the risk, but I'm doing so more informed than I would be by a Madkatz press release.

  • Lol love all the people that dont have a clue what the problem is here. Cant you see the mouse is not stable? Rofl. 2 sides of the mouse are higher or lower than they were supposed to be and the mouse pounces back and forth when you press the left click ( or other ways when you add some weight to the left click)

  • Wait, so what's the failure here? All I see you do is adjust the thumb part and click a bunch of times. What's the issue?

  • It use's the Philips Twin Eye sensor anyway, so who gives a toss... Nobody should buy a mouse with that sensor...

  • @mcbrite why not? What's wrong with the Twing eye sensor?

  • @Mropticalgreen too much to list here... check overclock net peripheral forum for details...

  • dude... did you make 2 videos about how bad your mouse is? how old are you? if you want to complain about your problems go on omegle or something... If you REALLY HATE YOUR MOUSE MOUSE you can sell it to me for what you its worth =)

  • I was considering buying this mouse but after this, im not sure... but i cant figure out what your pointing out, and im not being a smart ass- seriously, what exactly are you pointing out.

  • this video clearly shows what the problem is. provide a solution to it,too

  • @Slayersdf you forget some thing. The right and the back part are not mounted. I thing it dont will do it if you mount them.

  • @m0dN0oB

The back and right are not mounted to clearly show how much it moves, if that is your logic then you can also point out that none of the weights were installed either and you can have a super heavy 30g with the weights and that might offset it as well.

Watch the other related video to see the lift + errors with the sensor, this has already been submitted to mad catz engineers and have even taken my "fix" into consideration.

  • @lanxkai Is it still worth purchasing compared to a old logitech media mouse XD
