But as far as metros go, the NYC subway is pretty decent; you can find a ride 24/7, but you never know where you're getting off, "This 7 train will not be going into Manhattan, there is no 7 train service to Manhattan at this time. For service to Court Square, Vernon-Jackson, and Hunter's Point, you're out of luck, tough shit!"
