I really wish they would make a high quality, high budget live action version of Fist of the North Star. Like I wish they had taken all the money that they spent on the flaming crap-fest Troy and put it into a really well done FONS.
I've never seen the live action movie, so I figured I'd peek at this to see how it was without having to subject myself to it entirely. I have to say, the guy looks like a reject Billy Lee from Double Dragon, he is a terrible actor overall, and his voice is whiney and irritating. I must hunt and buy this movie so friends and I can have a good comedy to watch again.

The movie was done completely wrong. Though the anime was cheesy & had a horrible storyline, it was still pretty epic in how gory it was. To translate it this badly into a live action movie is a slight against the entire idea & those who came up with the original storyline. They could have done a better job but the dialogue was worse than the cast.

It's actually an ok straight to video action movie considering it's budget and some of the scenes are kick ass. I love the original Anime but everyones acting like it's a flawless masterpiece and it's not, it's cheesy and ridiculous at times and borrows heavily from western influences. Anime fanboys should come down to planet earth.
Dude if you really need to see real action movies why dont you see "undisputed" and see how well Scott Adkins plays the role of "VOYKA" in the movie, that's what I call a real street fight movie, I highly recommend it

Kenshiro in every other depiction is actually punching. While his strikes don't immediately crush his often-gigantic opponents, it surprises them, and when they show bewilderment or indignation, the line "Omae wa mou shindeiru" is said with a sense of placidity.
This guy just seems like a dork at a convention, reenacting a scene with a friend to put on YouTube as a joke.
The film was great, but it could be better. If is Shin arc, the four lieutinients in specially Mr. Heart would be present. The guy who was called Jackal in fact whe would be calle Jagi to be more adaptation to the manga/anime.
Not to bad mouth you 4DaBigTime, but this film was lame. I've seen it and i was bitterly dissappointed. I watched the Anime and read the manga. This film can't even be considered good. If this was titled something else, I assure you, it would not be as ill recieved.
In a nutshell though, I believe ALL anime, manga and games should be left alone. I've yet to see a truly decent converstion/abridged film from the original sources.
If you want to see a movie in the spirit of "Fist of the North Star" see "the Book of Eli". No fists but you have the same elements; lonlye traveler, post appocolyptic scene, several bandits getting killed and there's even a biker gang.
I remember when this came out on HBO when I was a kid and me and my father were like Hell ya. I kinda remember coming away lie, the movie was ok..and there are some good scenes. Those 2 you showed were great flashbacks. And ill never forget that second scene...when someone breaks you down to your knees like that. thats some serious shyt. Great scene.

In the anime, six punks on jeeps try to rip Kenshiro's arms off by chaining them to their cars and driving away at full speed. This man would not budge while also showing no signs of pain or difficulty. Furthermore, after flinging his arms upwards, all the jeeps collided in mid-air. Beat that, Hollywood.
@Rezindez very small budget. At least Daniels knows martial arts as opposed to Dragonball Evolution movie or the new King of Fighters movie which were way way worse.

Oh, he's never seen the Anime Fists of the North Star I take it?? I just had the unfortunate event of catching this movie last night. I thought it was the Anime that was coming on, then when I saw a real look to it I was like WTF, then I watched it, facepalmed, and fell asleep before it was over. So random. He just sort of flails, and then just says "you're already dead" with no real meaning.
Kenshiro in every other depiction is actually punching. While his strikes don't immediately crush his often-gigantic opponents, it surprises them, and when they show bewilderment or indignation, the line "Omae wa mou shindeiru" is said with a sense of placidity.
This guy just seems like a dork at a convention, reenacting a scene with a friend to put on YouTube as a joke.

The film was great, but it could be better. If is Shin arc, the four lieutinients in specially Mr. Heart would be present. The guy who was called Jackal in fact whe would be calle Jagi to be more adaptation to the manga/anime.

Not to bad mouth you 4DaBigTime, but this film was lame. I've seen it and i was bitterly dissappointed. I watched the Anime and read the manga. This film can't even be considered good. If this was titled something else, I assure you, it would not be as ill recieved.
In a nutshell though, I believe ALL anime, manga and games should be left alone. I've yet to see a truly decent converstion/abridged film from the original sources.

Production value low
Value of the movie for its choreography and display of scenes extremely low.
Delivery of Dialogue pathetic at best, they have an audio track that they could take from and the actor STILL messes it up.
If you pay attention you'll see not only an infinite amount of scene cuts but if recycling of the same scenes to do repeated actions.
For having stunt actors, thats pretty lazy.
Consider this, The movie was produced to go to home and even then it failed to make it.

If you want to see a movie in the spirit of "Fist of the North Star" see "the Book of Eli". No fists but you have the same elements; lonlye traveler, post appocolyptic scene, several bandits getting killed and there's even a biker gang.

I remember when this came out on HBO when I was a kid and me and my father were like Hell ya. I kinda remember coming away lie, the movie was ok..and there are some good scenes. Those 2 you showed were great flashbacks. And ill never forget that second scene...when someone breaks you down to your knees like that. thats some serious shyt. Great scene.

Listen, while on their own these scenes may be impressive, they look incredibly stupid after actually seeing Fist of the North Star. You call that badass? You don't know what badass is. In the anime, six punks on jeeps try to rip Kenshiro's arms off by chaining them to their cars and driving away at full speed. This man would not budge while also showing no signs of pain or difficulty. Furthermore, after flinging his arms upwards, all the jeeps collided in mid-air. Beat that, Hollywood.

To try and replace some of the anime's charm with nonexistant American charm. Shin, in this video's scene, is an example. Look at him. He's pathetic. They changed his empowering, intimidating, disturbing anime personality into that of a cliched Western pimp. It is necessary that they keep the characters EXACTLY the same, or everything changes.
