  • como los has sacado de la original? de donde has sacado el sonido limpio sin otras pistas para poder samplearlo bien?

  • Forgot to say...

    AWESOME PLAYING! :D

  • One of the best DM instrumentals.

I love A Question Of Lust but I have to admit to listening to Christmas Island a lot more!

  • odd little tune

  • so haunting.. i can imagine a scene where a lovely girl is running so fast from like a character named Jason or Max Cady :)

  • Which drumset is that on the Emax or did you sample it? I think I have all the Emax drum sets and none sound quite like that, I recently bought an Emax HD which I am in the process of restoring.

  • De la puta madre, bueno creo que me voy a comprar un EMU EMAX en ebay.

  • Superb! Great job!!! :-) Very impressing mate...

    Greetings from Switzerland

  • Magico sonido felicitaciones chabon!

Postea otro trabajo para que te sigamos.

    sds desde cordoba arg!

  • Great Job!

  • very good!!!!! sounds great!

  • fantastic!!

  • Impresionante, eres un crack con los teclados. Saludos.

  • I'm impressed - amazing sequencing work!

  • Impresionante, ere español?

Oye todos tus temas, son pura magia.

    Recuerdos desde Barcelona......

  • Excellent!

  • NICE WORK!!!!

    good!very good!;-)

  • how did you learn that???

  • lol, where u got those sounds from ?

  • Nice one matey... glad to see you have got your second Emax up and running and are working it

Did you get the link to the service manual I sent you?..

  • Sorry... Of course the melody is transposed semi tone up (you play B flat but I hear B). Anyway, you should play E flat instead of D.

  • nice...but in the main line there is E instead of D.

  • sory, of course the melody is transposed semi tone up (I mean, you play B flat and I hear B). Anyway you should play E flat instead of D.

  • Yeah I reacted to that too. I'm not near a keyboard now but I believe maisky is right. The lowest note in the "lead" melody should be a half note higher I think, D# or whatever you wanna call it :).

    Nice work anyway though!

  • Yeah. I assigned the keys in a quick way, and when realized it was not on the right section, I decided to leave as is.

  • Very clean sampling! What's your technique?

  • amazing!!!!

  • Thanks for the vid!

I could get an Emax II in a very good shape for $300 a few weeks ago, but I changed my mind since I would have to buy floppy disks with samples to it, which would cost me additional $300...

  • Sometimes there are good chances on ebay for purchasing samples at a non expensive price.

Anyway, try to sample from other keyboards and sources, and try to ellaborate your own samples bank. It is an extra work, but nice to do. Specially with the emax easy way of working.

  • Initially I thought the Emax was a synthesizer and a sampler, so the whole point for me was in getting all the amazing sounds rather than the keyboard per se. The E-mu, I shall admit, though, looks fantastic.

  • De verdad que me encanta escucharte!!! Que sonidazos sacas y que buenos temas eliges!!!!

    Un abrazo!!!

  • good work here

  • This is a great cover my friend DX5. Emax reigns supreme! I'll be waiting when you play two Emax soon.

  • Well done. Some of the samples sound too dull. Have you sampled them from the Wilder's Emu II demo on youtube?

  • Yes, i did.

They were two of the sounds I play with the right hand. (not that C sound alone).

This video was oriented to see what can I get from an Emax only, without any external source as backtrack.

  • Sounds great. I would love to get my hands on just one of their floppy samples. :D

    I have a DX7IIfd and a Juno 106 and still looking for a decent price Emax I.

Strange thing is that there are no samples from Emu, Emu2 on the net converted to other formats.

  • Agree. It is really rare to find them. I think people who own them like to own exclusive sounds that are really difficult to emulate with modern machines.

I saw some Emulator II libraries in 5.25 floppies months ago on ebay, but not common.

And not mention to Emulator I sounds. I have some of them and they are extremely hard to find.

  • It's really bad that the Emax I isn't capable of reading EmuII soundbanks. An oberheim DPX will be a good thing to buy and then convert the samples to other formats currently available.

  • Comment removed

  • Have you ever tried "EMXP" for Conversion between Emax-I, Emax-II, Emulator II and Emulator III, Emulator IIIX?

  • Yes, I have all the original Emax I sample disks. Converted them to wav or sf2 I think. I remember the sound was saturated like overamplified. Maybe new versions have a workaround for that issue.

Do you have original EMU2 banks???

  • amazing job.. i want an Emax..

  • Well done and congratulations to the second emax!

  • I can say just one word - wonderful !

  • Yeah! You did another great DM cover

  • Very good !

  • great - thank you for sharing!

  • well done again.. just a question...wat about neighbours? tolerant enough?

  • I don't play thru speakers. I use headphones only, and the Emax output is connected to the camera.

So, they can't notice any sound :)

  • cool. but there is no better feeling than vibrating floor when u hit the key :-)

  • Nice, the atmosphere is perfect, and the drums are really nice!

Good to see you using such a great rare synth :P

Haha do you have a floppy disk drive in your pc too? :P

    Good work

    - Martin

  • Alan Wilder........

  • Grandiosa!!

    Salu2

  • Nice DX5 :-)
