I just don't hear awesomeness. There are so many other coloraturas that can sing much better than she ever did or I just don't think this aria is for her voice at all sounds transposed to me. transposing in opera? Blasphemy!!!

She cheats by transposing! So much for her reputation as la stupenda. She's passable as a coloratura, but there're many others who surpass the over-rated Sutherland.

transosed. this is obviously in the 80's... especially since her australian performances were so frequent because her country loved her but major houses were all "eh... ew."
*transposed. and messy runs, top notes either barked/off key or weak, and her intonation is practically gone. these sutherland videos are so sad... they make her look so bad and mediocre when she was really so great... people just wouldn't let her retire, which is very sad.

She is amazing of course but im just so in love with the way that Gruberova sings this area y think is better for a soprano coloratura.
