  • Gotta LOVE Cory cats! Great fun!

  • If any of y'all r gonna buy a betta fish a little friend make sure it has short fins it's not the same color as the betta fish and it's not the same size! U welcome

  • this is so awesome to watch. I had a betta fish and always wanted to keep him with cories but I didn't have room for a decent aquarium in my room so I could 't put anything else in mine but the betta. He was my buddy for two years. One day I will get another betta and a real aquarium and some catfish to be in the tank, too. Your betta is beautiful! And my friends said "the tank is so clean"

  • Amazing (beautiful) tank along with the fish

What type of sand are you using..

And is it safe for freshwater critters =)

I need advice on some right type of sand =)

  • The water movement is too strong for the Betta. They like calm water and can die of exhaustion from water that is too busy. Beautiful tank. I have a 15G that I want to set up like this. Thanks.

  • It looks like he trying to catch the babies wnd make them go to bed :)

  • I just added 2 cories in with my Betta and he never flared at them. Now I think he seems to think he is a Cory too. He stopped eating from the top and follows the cories around and eats from the bottom. Silly Bruno. Benny and Benji love there Betta friend and Bruno loves his cories ;)

  • wow! I love your tank! Looks so nice, clean, and full of plants! fake or real?

  • @werewolf1986 half and half.

  • beautifull betta :)

    whatch my bluebetta

    /watch?v=e1tx_p3WHJI

  • where did you get your sand? I have been looking all over for that kind of sand with no luck.

  • how many gallons is the tank and where did u get it? please reply!!!

  • Bettas purchased at your LFS in the US are captive bred. They are not F1's or even F2's, therefore it does not matter that in the wild they are found in rice paddies. sheesh

  • nice tank. my first betta didnt flare either

  • Pretty boy!

  • @Mrhmpk are you a retard :-/ unless you have a rice paddie in your house this is the next best thing! Damm haterz.

  • i have a blue betta just like that except he's mixed in with white

  • Comment removed

  • @stalematesibling

They do NOT live in ditches. They live in rice paddies which is a hell of a lot bigger then a ditch

  • Comment removed

  • @tikibirds have u ever seen THE DITCHES IN RICE FIELDS WHERE THE BETTAS LIVE AFTER THE RICE PADDIES HAVE BEEN DRAINED? guess not......... so, the betta's still alive?

  • such a happy betta!

  • looks great you should put a hiding, chill spot for the betta though they hate always having to swim

  • 0:00 free reset button

  • Nice betta looks healthy nd all good work

  • wow your tank is really nice have you been to the grande praire petland there tanks suck

  • What kind sand are you using and what kind of substrate are you using if you are sing one?

  • that is a huge tank iv got a 13teen gallon tank im breeding betta fish cool

  • are those cory catfish's nipping at his fin's? might wanna keep an eye on that.. other than that nice tank! check out my tanks in my channel and let me know what ya think too

  • @s2ktuner hi,

cory cat fish dont really nip but do check.:)

  • just my $0.02 but he needs a hiding spot, and you might want to tune the filter down a tad.

Otherwise looks like an awesome tank. I wish all my bettas had a setup like that.

  • it looks like the baby fish are annoing him like going to him then runs away kinda like a 3 year old saying some thing random out of his head like the word f#$% or dam ya y ya ya ya ya

  • I enjoy all your videos. I recently just purchased a betta from Walmart. i was quite surprised to see a beautiful red and black halfmoon all sad in its cup. I had to get it and brought it home. Now he is very happy swimming around. Check out my videos =)

  • can someone please tell me if i have a male or female betta. I a need professinal breeder or someone with the right infomation. please watch my video on my chennel to see. thanks.

  • @TheTropicalBreeder Male Bettas have long fins while females have short fins

  • Your tank is beautiful!

  • fancy tank . i keep mines in a fish bowl , keeping it simple.

  • is this background music supposed to be..........classy? r u shittin me LOL

  • Male bettas are awesome. My favorite fish!

  • ok the cory cats r not stressed if they were stressed the would be on the bottom not moving or eating...noob

  • they are not playing, you noob.... They are fighting! They cory cats looks very stressed and the beta will probably hunt them till they die..... Go get some knowledge before you mistreat more animals....!

  • @rasmuskok I have had about 15 bettas in the 27 years I have been alive and most are mad agro yes but you can get lucky and get a mellow betta, I have 1 right now thats bff's with a platy and also has 2 cories and 2 african dwarf frogs in his tank hes alose nice too, then I got another betta by him self that tryed to attack all the other fish back when he was in my main tank so its all chance, lmao kinda like the pull method when having sex this betta is mellow or he would be flairing at them

  • filter looks to strong for the betta

  • What are the light green plants called with like semi-broad leaves near the front of the tank. They look nice and i want one so if you could get me the name i would appreciate it.

  • your lucky I just got this new dubtailed betta and he is in a 10long with 3 platies and it was all good 1st 2 weeks now the last 2 days he been chassing them and to day he got the smaller of the 3 cornered and bit the platy twice before the pore platy could get away and the bettas smart when he seen me with the net he went and hid in his cave, but 10min later he couldnt help him self and he tryed to play tough guy again and I snatched him up, so now he gets to live in a lil 1 gal back up tank :(

  • He's trying to attack them but they're too fast LOL!

  • wow very nice setup! how do you know which fish are compatible with Bettas?? i just bought a betta fish and Im still new to all this lol =]

  • @fostexz all depends on your betta some bettas are 100% kill kill kill and some are sweet and curious, but cory cats like these 1s tend to be good african dwarf frogs are good and if the betta fucks with the adf's they kick so even a mean betta will back off after a good roundhouse or 2, platies are good cause the wont nip the fins of the betta like alot of other fish will, best bet is any thing faster then the betta so it can get away, but doesnt fin nip, and lots of hiding places will help

  • What a gorgeous Betta - really long flowing fins, and the space you've given him is obviously appreciated, as he looks really happy. I know this vid was posted quite a while ago - is the wee fella still alive today?

  • hey the cories stay pretty small right? like around the size of the betta full grown?

  • my male betta is in a 2 gallon tank (plenty big for him) can i get one albino cory cat?

  • @rainypassion101 i would say depends on your betta's personality but i have a 2.5 gallon tank with my betta and 7 small guppies and they are perfectly fine.

  • @rainypassion101 you can but the cory wont be happy and 2gal is to small to get 3 to 7 cories like your supost to so its up to you rather or not you want a lonely cory, I say get an african dwarf frog, they are cute, fun to watch, lo bio, they do good with bettas most of the time, the only down fall is you have to hand feed them with twezzers or a turkybaster cause they wont swim up for food and the betta will eat all the bloodworms befor the sink to the frog, better then a lonely cory

  • can you tell what kind of sand is in your tank?

  • i dont think a tank that big is really needed i have a 5 gallon and thats big

  • can you email me. need some info.. i love your tank and would love to have one just like it but without the frog.. lol. and i do not do well with any live plants.. if you could email me with the type of sand you used, what you feed them, and any chemicals needed in the tank that would be great

    thank you

  • Yay happy Betta. Good for you in keeping him in a proper home.

  • @LizSagara It's cool to see some people actually care about our mistreated Betta friends.

  • @RatedRKJerichO Both of my males are in 10 gallon tanks and my females are in a 55 gallon. People don't realize if you'll give them the room they need (5+ gallons) they're very personable and active.

  • @LizSagara ya listen to this girl I did this twice once when I was like 10 and then once about a year ago, I got a betta and a lil bole, the betta just sat there lookin like shit, so then I got a 2.5 gal and a heater and waaaaaa laaaa betta gets brighter colors and comes to life swimming around, that was age ten, now last year I got a betta and a bowl, betta was slugish/not happy, then dumped him in a ten gal and he came to life wow go figure they dont like small spaces? kinda like you or me!!!

  • the cories are great there in my tiger oscars tank and yet my fish wont bug them

  • I like those round bush plants you have in the tank and I also Like the sand nice combination

  • art and fish it warms my heart to see someone care about their fish you are truley amazing

  • For those that were asking the balls are called marimo balls (meaning "Algea Ball" in Japanese), and they are actually balls of an algea species named Cladophora, they are not a moss. There are places that grow them and sell them wholesale for the aquarium industry. Look on ebay, one company in the UK , Aqua8 I think they are called grows and sells them and are really great. I got three big ones (about 5 or 6 years old, 5 cm in diameter) for under 10 dollars, including shipping.

  • @BakaniBoko Also do NOT be fooled if you see these at petsmart or petco, they are usually labled as moss balls, but the are NOT marimo balls (marimo = algea NOT moss). At these large chain stores what you find is Java moss wrapped around a piece of cork and are usually 10$ for ONE! If you want real marimo look in small privately owned fish stores or online. Moss balls do not inhibit the growth of other algea like real marimo, which is why a lot of fish keepers want them, besides their neat look.

  • i love corydoras and bettas :D

i tried introducing corys to the tank with my other betta, and it didn't quite work out :(

back then i was uneducated and attempted this in a 2 gal. tank, so obviously none of them had enough room :/

after about a day i had to separate them because the betta was ripping at the cory's tails. i gave away my corys to my friend.

i have a new betta now, and i'm getting a bigger tank. this betta is mellower so i'm going to try to reintroduce corys ^-^

  • wow that is the most beautiful tank i have ever seen! well with that beatiful betta and those white cory its just BE-A-UTIFIL!!!!!! i wish my tank was like that. what tyoe of plants are those and where did u get the moss balls?!?!?

  • AWESOME

  • does your betta nip the corries?????

  • @Jungjio well the corys don't really clean up the sand but they do help move it around witch in turn keeps the sand looking fresh with no dead spots , I say if you gave sand substrate you should have some corys. Shrimps help clean the sand as they eat some fish waste! As I've seen . Hope that helps :-)

  • @xDAVMANx thx yo

  • 5/5 by far the best Betta tank shit one of the best 10 gallon tanks I've seen, very nice work. I will be basing my tank around yours if you don't mind :-) but I will do a bit more study on bettas before I get one.

  • Hey Do the corys clean da sand?

  • It is a lovey elegant set up - not overstocked, great room for those active cories (good for you to know they love to swim all over the place). My only concern is the betta being so active - but you can watch him for any signs of tail end denigration from it flapping (like a flag) around and possibly tearing (easy to do). I've had these set ups for hospital tanks and it seems the flow is too fast for him (imagine dragging a tail that long around exhausting)... add silk plants/pads at outflow.

  • I've read if they don't flare at all then there's a problem, like temperature, the PH, Ammonia levels too high, not feeling well, too much current (they like still water) .... However from what I see his tail and anal fins are displayed well most of the time so I don't think you have to worry. My RT betta's dorsal only goes up if he sees our other male or if something makes him super happy and excited. They don't flame their gills (beard) unless they see a possible threat, like another male.

  • @Mesatalia Where do you "read" this from. Betta's flare when they are preparing to fight period. Not flaring ie is not the same as sick betta which is as you describe. He is busy with cories and actually because esp the longer tailed, the fins are one single cell thin and can rip easily (ie reason for less flow so on) but time will tell. (seeing another male and causing flaring too much of the time is very stressful - they produce adrenal/cortisol stress hormones ) (breeder/rescuer 45 years)

  • wow, its so clean! how you keep the sand so clean?? and with any algae! btw nice fishes..

  • Love the layout!! What kind of plants are those?

  • i have eclipse system 6. highly reccomend it! no problems except be care ful with smaller fish such as guppys. tend to die by the filter. and yes leaves water crystal clear. have to buy filter cartridges too.

  • how did you get your tank that clear?

  • and also where did you get the sand?

  • @rollomaniac96 he uses the filter included in the eclipse 12 gallon system. I comes with the tank and is built into the hood. It's very nice I don't think they sell the same ones separate I suggest you buy this tank it's great!

  • what filter do you use?

  • Where'd you get the sand? Also how did you cycle the tank?

  • aww its like there playing tag and the bettas it

  • @littlemissruckess, those are Marimo balls. They are just little balls of moss.

  • @boboblocks

marimo balls are actually balls of algae and not moss ... they compete for the same nutrients as other more unpleasant algae needs too which can help keep a tank algae free :O)

  • oh :p

    my mistake ^^

but, how long is the tank ? more then 40 cm ?

  • @n8ti 21"L x 11"W x 18"H

  • your betta's color is great with its black mask. i love this color so much. they look litte bit hungry? h?

    pretty fish all.

  • how long is the tank ?

    and how much gallons ?

  • @n8ti the tank is 12 gallons it sais in the title

  • are those live plants

  • What size tank is this? What are the green balls? Very nice looking.

  • how do you maintain the water so crystal clear???

  • I watch this videos almost everyday. Very entertaining.

  • How do you clean your tank with that sand at the bottom?

  • wats that stuff at the botttom

  • your betta is getting his fin nipped by those other fish....

  • @evothefool uh, no. those are corydoras. they are some of the most peaceful fish and are compatible with bettas.

  • @CtrlDae lol peaceful as in a fish who does not kill others yes

but fin nipping has nothing to do with peaceful fish

peaceful fish only means the fish can be with other types of fish and can be schooled

as you see in the vid they are fin nipping the betta so yea lol

  • @evothefool hm, that's weird. I've never heard of that happening with corys before.

  • @CtrlDae this accrues mostly with small fish that see other kinds of fish with long colorful fins like for example a betta, thats why most ppl tend to keep bettas alone, but also because bettas are aggressive fish

  • I thought you couldn't have a betta with other fish!

  • @GoPartyInBleach you can! I used to have a 10gal community tank with lots of bettas and lamp eye tetras (have a video posted if ur interested)

  • @CreativePetKeeping Yah I learned that the other day. But thanks!

  • Looks just like my betta!

  • Hi, I have 6 corys in my angel tank and they don't do nearly as much swimming around as yours do. I have 3 spotted corys and 3 Juli corys. Do you think that maybe I should get all in one kind? Or what do you think would make them swim around more? Because right now they mostly just sit in the corner of the tank. Please get back to me.

  • your betta is totally in stress.

  • @elastonova69 actually thats a happy active betta :)

  • the music made me want to punch someone ... that may be my own personal issue though :O) your tank looks really great with the white sand and the plants ... the betta is beautiful as are the other ones too ... nice video :O)

  • so you don't ever clean the sand and it stays that clean from just the cory's?

cause your tank looks SO clean i can't tell if its just cause of the white sand or not. how/when do you clean your tank? (water changes, how often, how much, etc).

    thanks =)

  • Very peaceful Music

  • hey there consensus great tank best i seen

all bettas should live like that

take note all those with bettas in small boring tanks

do the rite thing give them a good home

  • I LIKE FISH

  • are cory catfish always so active? i thought they were supost to stay at the bottom.

  • damn your beta is beautiful as hell

  • damn your beta is beautiful

  • Hey I have a question. I just bought three Julie Cory's yesterday (Feb 14) and i'm not really familiar with corey's but they are swimming around singly and they are not staying at the bottom, instead they are swimming around the mid section and top, and one in particular swims and lands on my plastic plant and just sits there. Can you tell me what's wrong or how to fix this problem? Or maybe even why this is happening?

  • The reason is that you bought enough corries to make a shoal. They are very active in groups

  • i was wondering , what do you feed your albino cory fish with ?

  • i just realized that this was uploaded on my birthday!!! ;D

  • I just love this video. The music is sweet, the aquarium is beautiful, and the fish are so playful. Great tank.

  • Looks very peacful

  • Hello! And I have a beta lafel happy as yours .......

  • I'm sad. I tried adding cory cats yesterday and my betta bit a chunk out of one of their tails so I'm taking them back today :(

  • Great setup and I'm thinking about buying some of those cory catfish. Just wondering if the filter is too strong as he seems to be struggling against the current.

  • what kind of sand you using?

  • WOW!!! You're water is pristine!!! Great job!!!

  • I just bought this tank today. Still no fish, but I do like the white sand with the blue of the fish, it looks really pretty. Makes me want a blue fish too. :)

  • Nice setup.. @TheConsensus what kind of sand is that in there? When I look at Petco or Petsmart websites, I can only find course gravel for freshwater. That sand almost makes it look like it were meant for marine life. I like it! Please share where you got it and what it's called :)

  • I saw this video and had to hunt down some Marimo moss balls for my 20 gallon tank. My Crowntail Betta rubs his side on these lol.

  • Poor Betta can't keep up with his little friends. But he looks like he's still enjoying himself.

  • Aw! They all look so cute and happy! =] I love how the corries are just zipping around the tank and Comrad was zipping with them! =] Your tanks look so stylish! =0 When I get my own tank I hope I can make it look as appealing! =]

  • lol i like the way the betta and the cories play with each other.

  • that bettas spoiled lol

  • it looks like their eating your betta fish alive :O

  • your video helped me so much!

i just filled my eclipse 3 tank and i didnt fill it all the way to the black line because i read you are supposed to make the water an inch lower and when i turned the filter on the water wasnt moving and it was really loud

i rememberd how you had a tank similar and saw you had the water filled to the black line so i filled it some more and now its working just fine!

    thanks so much :D

  • Be careful with that, I've read people say their Eclipse filters burned out because their water levels were low or dropped. So just keep an eye on it.

  • That aquarium looks really nice.

This vid has cemented my decision to buy this aquarium. I'm brand new to the world of aquarium keeping and just got a betta for Christmas, along with a 1 gallon aquarium, which I heard isn't big enough for the little guy but this one looks really spacey and classy.

    Thanks for posting this vid.

  • what kind of sand is that?

  • Does the sand bedding work well? How long does it take for all the dust to settle?

  • I HATE PLASTIC PLANTS! è__è

  • i lime your albino corys lol i have 2 spotted and one albino and the albino loves to swim back and forth while the other two just graze around the tank

  • that's an awesome tank! rly enjoyed the video, helped me get a good idea of an ideal enjoyable tank for my betta :D

  • Nice set up dude! u should add small crawfish or ghost shrimp so they can clean the sand....they should eat the poop... lol!

  • That is beautiful! I want those little grass balls!!!!!!!

  • nice tank

  • I love how active your betta is. He seems to love the room and the heater.

  • Yes Bettas have teeth.

  • i couldnt help but come back and ask u a few questions first are those live plants? and if so do they need anything in particular to stay alive and

second when u clean the tank how do u clean it and how do u clean the sand? thankyou

  • I LOVE your tank its so clear and open not cramped up the sand defiently makes it look so much better than others with rock and gravel

  • they say betta fish are really aggressive and kill each other, but how do they? do they have teeth?

  • they nip at each others fins.

  • Danios are less likely to nip fins if kept in small shoals...

  • will the other fish be stresseD?

  • I have 3 danios, and I have 1 betta NOT in the same tank. The petstore person said not to put them in the same tank, but others told me I could. Is it ok to?

  • Some bettas will do fine in a tank like that. Just watch them, and if your betta gets aggressive, take him out.

  • danios and bettas get along together fine. But keep a close eye on they just in case.

  • Thats too funny....its like the Betta is tryin to immitate the cory's.... would not surprise me.. Betta's are very smart fish.

  • super clean tank.

  • aw it's like he's trying to be a cory..

  • No one is telling you to watch the whole thing.

    Frankly, I enjoyed it =/

  • This tank is my inspiration! I'm thinking of an entirely black and white tank (except for plants of course) and My little red betta. And some corys and/or an ADF. Absolutely beautiful! Oh and are those moss balls real? I can't find any at any pet store. :(

  • is there any other fish or other animal etc. i can put in that the betta fish wont attack nd get along just fine??

  • all that i can say is get a girl betta they can get along with guys

  • ok thanx

nd if i do get a female will they mate on their own?

  • male and female bettas will not get along, first of all. And second, they're very hard to mate.

  • yeah i read about that im kinda glad cuz i dont want them mting till i take the decision to do so, buh anyways do yu kno any other fish that will get along with the betta i herd that neon tetras, bottom feeders, and snails get along with them?
