  • I live in a small town near Jefferson and all of this stuff is still the same but Jefferson did finally get dissolved. It is now an unincorporated community. The bars remain though. I'm surprised their Wendy's isn't a showbar.

  • I grew up in Boone County and Jefferson/St Albans was always a favorite weekend getaway for myself and my twenty something friends. Nothing like getting a room at Smiley's calling a cab to take us a mile down the road to The Sport's Page, then walking next door to Moulin Rouge then on to Big Bertha's and a few others before calling a cab to take us back to Smiley's. Just good naughty fun. Hey, we were single guys and these places wouldn't exist if people weren't spending money there!

  • Of course they'd go to Shockers.. Nastiest one in Jefferson. Yuck.

  • Compared to other cities, Jefferson isn't that bad. Just because some of your family grew up in west Virginia mean you can talk bad about us

  • What an embarrassment! And so sadly true.

  • I live In Scott Depot!!! this is the only place on earth where you can go to chruch; turn around and go to a titty bar.

  • WV, isn't all that bad. Yea we have some shitty places. But what state don't? And are weird people, but all states have that. I have been to alot of states, i seen more states that has nastier places when we have. I'm from Summersville but my bf lives close to there. Summersville is much nicer, if people judged a book by the cover. Then the book will never get read!!!

  • Lol.. I work at secret pleasures in jefferson... That's a reasonably accurate representation of the populous.

  • @JKTenchi Agreed, I worked at Video Superstore a couple years ago.

  • I live like two mintutes away from this little town (in St. Albans) and everyone lockes there car doors while driving throught. haha

  • My moms side of the family all lives in WV near here around Beckley. This isn't a misrepresentation, most of the state is actually like this. My mom is one of sixteen children and her and her oldest sister are the only ones whos ever had a job. YES, my uncles are all in their late forties and fifties and they've never actually received a real pay check. They live of disability, drink and do prescription pills all day. Its also so polluted that the rivers are literally flammable.

  • @ChuckinCho that's funny, Ive never seen the river on fire and I've lived next to the kanawha river my entire life.

  • This just makes me sad. Why are we mocking poor, dumb people? And as someone who grew up not all that far from there, it makes me angry that this is all that is shown of our beautiful state. You can find poor, stupid, pitiful people in any town in the world! WV has much to offer. Why not ask Jennifer Garner?

  • @rumezzo I've been to your beautiful state. It is actually the shittiest most backward state I've ever been in. And I live in Kentucky.

  • They should've talked to cricket

  • god damnit i live five min down the road i have to get the fuck out of this state lol

  • This made me crack up!!! Why don't they ever show the good in WV??

  • @tford328 They did when Insomniac came to Charleston.

  • I live near Jefferson and this is accurate lol. The media does make our state look bad but its also a lot of the people as well.

  • this is ridiculous, i live in St Albans as well & it makes me hate this state even more.

  • Still looks the same sadly! Why does wv get notoriety for embarrassing shit? :)

  • I live in Saint Albans too. It's hilarious that less than five minutes from where I live is Jefferson. Nice.

  • ha! I live 3 miles from Jefferson, in a place called St. Albans and let me tell you, that documentary was VERY accurate. lol no joke! My dad even went to school with the dude who killed those 6 people and hid there bodies

  • Jefferson = Titie bar capital of the world

  • @actionist2009 I grew up in St. Albans. I left in 83 (but my mother still lives there). Apparently it still looks the same and I still wouldn't drive through without my doors locked.
