  • Here's my problem: there are looms in different colors but same size. What is an adult loom and a baby loom? Meaning, how many pegs should be on an adult loom and baby loom?

  • Pull the string from the middle and outside match the 2 ends together an knit until I am done or meet in the middle of the skein. Just a tip

  • When using 2 strands of yarn I use 1 skein of yarn and pu

  • I never realized that this was so popular. Thank you for sharing the videos.

  • thanks for showing these videos..

  • how do you keep your yarn from getting twisted as your putting it on the loom

  • thats true working on a table is not a good stratigie

  • Hey mikey! I have recently tried a new technique with one strand! You e-wrap the pegs once around regularly, then wrap again so it creates the same two strand effect!

  • That is pretty cool. The kids will love this.

  • Danke schon!

  • Thanks so much for posting this :)

  • Thanks Mikey for such an easily understood tutorial. I am now hooked on looming.

I have featured the video on my website and I hope that my followers will take the craft up.

    Can-Do-Kids-Crafts

It really is fascinating way to get the kids involved in creating great works of craft!

  • I think I love you.. Lol in 6 yrs on YouTube you're the first person who's page i have subscribed to. You rock.

  • Hey Mikey, I just got my first knifty knitter. I followed the instructions in the booklet on what to do, but the swatch I made came out too loose for me; then again I only used one strand of Red Heart. Can you please help me tighten my knit or tell me something, I dont know. I just need help. (The finished piece came out nice, just too loose.)

  • how do you make horizontal stripes?

  • I love your shirt, where can I purchase one?

  • Thank you so much! Your video helped me out! Turns out I was doing the second type instead of the first..your a life saver!

  • I have found a good way of using two strands is simply to find the inner end of the ball and then knit with both ends at once. That way there is no need to cut the yarn to make a secondary ball. I find the yarns don't get knotted and there is no waste. Happy knitting.

  • @Betsy2303 I did this with my yarn too! Works fantastic, right? I hope to get better and better with looms.

  • where could I buy the loom knitting?

It is the first time I see it

    I like it very much

Thank you for posting this video!

  • @maritate the looms brand name is Knifty Knitters:

you can purchase knifty knitter loom sets right at you local craft store or Walmart. If you don’t have a store near you that carries them they are avalible online……you can try ebay or amazon.com

  • Does anyone know where to buy Knifty Knitter looms in Europe?? All the websites that have them on sale ship only to the US and Canada.

  • @Sylphadora have you tried searching on ebay for someone that will ship to you???

  • Awesome vid. If you are a newbie knitter like me there is some great content at at ebeginnersknitting (.) com

  • Your videos are awesome, just made my first hat^^

How about a video on how to make adult mittens?=D

  • I would love to post your site on my homepage. send me a banner (html) and I will post it... family sticks together. :)

  • ok mikey I am another guy loving crochet and now thanks to you. I am starting to work on knifty knitter. what is the best way to join flat panels...... (video idea.)

    thanks

  • Also thrift stores are a great place to find odd balls of wool. And dollar stores too.

  • Can you please help me find out how to make flat panels with the circular loom?

    Thank you :0)

  • @Tanyaa2313 there's a tutorial in my collection... you can find it under flat panels.

  • you could start making sweaters with the big one

  • Finally, an in depth video on loom knitting. Nice job, very informative. That being said, I have to say that you use the label 'wool' a bit much. Most worsted weight Red Heart yarns and Bernat are acrylic (most not all - I haven't seen any Red Heart wool short of their sock yarns). Also, most of the loom videos I used to watch on youtube were done using the loom knitter's perspective and not a table. The only ones I did see using a table were the looms that use a wooden base.

    Again, great video

  • I was wondering if you have made mittens with the knifty knitter loom? I know it can be done but cannot figure out how to do it by the diagrams. thanks!!

  • Which one would you recommend? The two strings at one time?

  • Hi, Mikey I love your videos. I loved this hat video it was so easy to pick up. I got inspired to make a blanket. The only thing is that I do not know how to end it. Do you have a video showing how to end a blanket

  • So very helpful. You helped me save time and yarn. I am glad that I saw the video. It saved me from making a 1 strand hat that I would have probably hated.

  • I found this video to be very informative. You have great ideas. I wasn't happy with the spaces left by using one strand of yarn either. So This is very helpful. Thank you for sharing!

  • Thank you sooo much for your wonderful tutorial!

I gave birth to a preemie baby last week. I wanted to make him a little hat to keep his head warm, and couldn't have done it without your tute!

He is going to be a good lookin lil' stinker in his hat!

    <3 & thanks

  • Awesome - thank you SO much for posting this - ah, yet another craft to sink my teeth into! I'll be searching for more of your videos and I've subscribed! Thanks again,

    Suz

  • @Mikey - I'm assuming you are talking about the American Flag baby hat? :)

  • I was looking for the video that shows the 1 strand (am using your "empty" pen idea) done twice. I imagine that means 4 loops per peg. But I have an easier time when I can see it rather than trying to "imagine" it. Thanks

  • @BanjoDoje Hey there... I just launched a LOOM VIDEO YESTERDAY showing 1 STRAND wrapped twice. :)

  • What happens if the one size is too small but the next ring is too big for hats?? I have that problem with my rings - one sits on the top on my head and the other one falls down to my shoulders.

  • Thank you so much for making these videos as a newbie to looming your videos are clear and foolproof ! I am trying my hand at loom baby booties keep em coming!

  • A lot of thx for this video tutorial, is really great :). I like to make a beret and a peaked hat. Some idea about this? :)

  • Love the rainbow hats. ;)

  • The smallest loom is more for dolls or new born baby hats!!! I love using the small loom for scarves! ^w^

  • i made a hat with the small loom but it wasnt big enough for babys head did i do something wrong??????????

  • are size 4 yarns okay for this? I got 3 from hobby lobby and I'm worried because doing the two-3 string sounds difficult, and so does making a ball.

  • Don't listen to the stupid responses. *Sigh* You did a great video. Check out our "THE TURD SONG" video for a cute laugh, it's our 4 year old singing a Nickelodeon son. We LOVE loom knitting. Working on a video now as well. Plus, we use Red Heart too!

  • It is only called wool if it comes from sheep. It is called YARN. Bernat and Red Heart are mostly acrylic YARN.

  • fiber, material, yarn, wool -

for tutorial purposes, it all means the same thing

  • For tutorial purposes the correct terms should be used.

  • Someone wrote me and ask if I knew of a pattern for mittens on the knitting loom. I looked through the books that I have and could not find one. Do you know of one? or maybe create a pattern for mittens. Thanks

  • Say,,, thanks , i was wondering on the size of loom. I almost bought the wrong one . I think ill just buy the pak of 4

  • how do you make a scarf or hat with different colors...i can make one color o more colors when i use more than 1 yarn ..but how do you do the stripes? do you cut and make a knot with the next color??

Im guessing thats how but i just wanted to make sure I saw your baby hat with 6 stripes of different colors

  • I would like to see how to reduce stitches so the hat gets smaller at the top.

    Great site btw!

  • You don't need to get smaller on the top... the way this is casted off... it bunches together at the top on it's own. That's the beauty of this simple project.

  • I JUST watched the baby hat how to. I really like the brim and how you cast off, it is very simple, and will have my hats looking a lot better.

  • I am making a scarf on a round loom. How do I add color?

  • How does one decrease stiches while doing a tube shape on a round loom useing the E wrap stitch?

  • hei I have a question: as in Scandinavia loom knitting is sold as "quick knitting" is it actually true? I mean, is it quicker work in loom knitting than normal pin knitting?

  • Can i make a blanket with the knitting loom?

  • Absolutely. but you have to find a loom big enough or stitch the panels you can make together.

  • How does one increse stitches on a round loom doing a tube shape not a flat shape

  • You can't ... these looms are non expandable unfortunately.

  • thanks for letting me know. I knew there was a way to add stitches if you were makeing a flat pannelk on a round loom.

  • ? Are you using Wool or acrylic yarn?

  • Acrylic it seems. I never been asked that,,, I had to go check... I just call it all Yarn

  • i am new to loom knitting. I have a red circlular loom and I would like to know how to knit a scarf with this loom. there is not a lot of info about it. can you please help me? please respond soon, as I am taking a trip and plan to make scarves for about 10 people. any info. will be appreciated. regards
