Wrong! He was put in power by help from the US. The US harassed the Panamians on purpose to start a conflict so they can then say they went into Panama to save American lives.

Well you can think our CIA. They helped put him in power and only turned against him because he would not re due the deal with the Panama Canal and because he hosted latin american countries on American intervention.

The PDF was harassing Panamanians and Americans alike! When they killed Americans for no good reason the US finally stepped in.
The canal has been under Panamanian ownership (but run by Cosco) and the US military has been gone for years now, but guess what they still tie the Balboa to the US Dollar. Many beg for the US to come back to protect them from Columbian drug runners in the south. Doesn't sound like America is hated by all does it?
Next time know what the hell you are talking about.

That has nothing to do with what happened during 1989. We destroyed the elections in Panama and put Noriega in power. We took him out because he wouldn't continue to be our puppet. The US did finally have to give control back to Panama.

Members of my family live safer better lives today because Noriega was removed. The US military is now out of Panama and the communist Chinese (through Cosco) run the canal.
