she always says the same "I started at a benefit show blah blah" makes it seem like she had no intension of ever modeling and they "just" discovered her.....Actually she approached an agency when she was twelve (or so) and they did not take her right away and told her to come back in a couple of years when she had her braces off and lost some weight. She says that after getting her braces and loosing some weight by eating healthier they found her at this charity event. Read it in teen vogue.
