The Caribbean Diaspora would like to thank you for the features on the great Jamaican writer and Poet. Although he was bown, educated in Jamaica where he also first began writing & publishing his work, today he is being referred to as American and African American Poet & writer which is FALSE. ALL his work such as 'If we must die', 'Banana Bottom' among others, are ALL within the old Jamaican English dialect & historical history, struggle & identity. Its important to know this. Thank you!
Just curious, what does this song have anything to do with Claude McKay, or even his respective era?

Actually, he did not become a communist. He entertained the idea, but while in Russia dismissed it, due to its confining principles.

A special tribute to Claude Mckay who was leader of "The Harlem Renaissance". McKay was famous for his poem, "If We Must Die", and "The White House".
