  • @Luke48 Ya I already got it Ty for the free lesson..I love this song :)

  • dude can u slow it a bit..i thought this was how to play somebody?

  • @kysike666 If you download the video then you can slow it down. E.g. media player classic you can set it to 2x or 4x (ctrl-down) slower or frame by frame (control keys). Original is really not that much slower.

  • @Luke48 I just checked. It's pretty much same speed. It might be deceiving due to volume playing by itself.

  • Excellent, what r u playing on?

  • @ILOVEHUGEASS Roland Fantom X6.

  • Could you play it slower and show the notes please?

  • @ameliamaka I recommend to download the video and then use a video player like media player classic where you can play frame by frame or set playback speed. There are plugins and you could use keepvid . com to download the video.

  • Judging by that band on your left hand you already found somebody!

  • thanks

  • can you make a slow version to know more thanks!

  • @178ae I recommend to download the video and then use a video player like media player classic where you can play frame by frame or set playback speed. There are plugins and you could use keepvid . com to download the video.

  • it looks like your making piano cover but this is the best play in youtube

  • @178ae Not a cover, it's pretty much same as the original recording.

  • Absolut geil!schon bischen neidisch!:-)

  • ok luke thanks for your reply but hey can you sent the chords instead....

  • do you have email address?

  • hi luke can pls. send the tab so I can play this.....I just starting to learn how play keyboard....

  • @autotech61636 I don't have a tab. All video's are from analyzing directly the original piece without using any sheet music (since I find those inaccurate often).

  • can you send me the chords...do you teach piano? I love the song.... Thank you.

  • Hi! Do you please tell me the musical notes please?! in Do, Re, Mi...please please...I need it

  • its my favorite ever song of my life, very very nice playing! im begginer , i see this video 1500 times. congratulations

from argentina , i speak spanish!

  • Beautiful !,

Wonderful song and very nice playing.

Well this is piano sound, but its not common to see people using this synth for DM songs or other electronic music, I know Roland haven't make good synthesizers for the last 10 years but I think that the FANTOM "X6", the G6 and the V synth are good enough, even for electronic music!

Some friends of mine doesn't give too much respect to this synth because they say it can't be compared to VIRUS TI, Moog, A6, or virtual's but I love mine.

  • @ANDRES77 Thanks. The Virus/Moog/A6 are pure synths and Fantom/Motif are workstations so different purpose. The V synth is a great dedicated synth (both analog+digital) and definitely more than good enough but not cheap...

DM used pretty much anything including Yamaha and Roland synths. I believe for this song they had a sampled piano on the Emulator.

  • @Luke48 Hi, well you are right, I own some other keyboards:E-mu Emax II, Roalnd JX-10, Roland JD-800, Korg POLY800, Casio CZ-1000 and AXIOM-61 midi controller.

I was talking about the capability for synthezise and sampling on the Fantom/V synth beside monsters such as the Virus/Moog/Andromeda A6/AKAI/Prophet 08/Waldorf Q.

The comments from some people is that the Fantom is more for some latin or "world' music than electronic (sound creation).

The studio version of Somebody was a grand piano

  • @ANDRES77 Virus/Moog/A6/Prophet specialize in analog sound which they do best. The Fantom/Motif triesrather to cover a wide range of samples for arrangements. You can recreate most sounds with right samples mixed. But I use sampling as well (previous video is sampled prophet 6 and before that DX7 Rhodes). So you're not limited to any sound in theory.

Never heard about Fantom used lot for Latin (perhaps with Latin library). I'd say Motif might be better at that.

  • @Luke48 .....P.S.,

For live performances (Somebody) they used the Emulator's grand piano library sounds, the same when they moved to the Emax and Emax II.

For the rest of the songs well, yes, they used pretty much anything, even modular analog synthesizers and sampling those sounds into the Emulators or Emax (and Akai in the devotional tour) forrecording and live performances.

My main interest was your opinion about using these "New" Roland/Motif, for sound creation (synthesis). Thank you

  • What keyboard is that?

  • @NinjaOnWeed: Roland Fantom X6

  • What keyboard is that?

  • @NinjaOnWeed It's a powerful ROLAND FANTOM X6!!, is a wonderful synth (workstation) and I like to combine it with some other keyboards (synths or samplers), some virtual keyboards.

I'm a DM fan so electronic music is my preference but you can do anything with this keyboard.

  • Not too hard for a pro like yourself, I wouldnt ask but your just so talented. At least if you make it I get to see in HD and you play back and show notes making it very easy to watch and learn, thanks keep up the good work.

  • Another Great HD video. Good tune the HD and sound makes it so much easier to watch and listen to, making it easier for us to learn. How about some Bruce Hornsby and The Range - Thats Just The Way It Is? I know it must be hard but I would like to watch you play that one, Thanks!

  • @gary72carol61 Thanks. Yeah that's a tough one but probably not too hard to figure out since he plays probably basic right hand loops with few right hand chords.
