quick tip when put on you at home perms, dont start with your edges that how you are more likely to get chemical burn. Start in the middle (the thickest part of you hair and work your way out)
Its interesting, alot of people, myself incuded, go natural coz we wanna grow long hair...but with all the shrinkage, its like wats the point? I saw ur relaxed vid, n omg, ur hair is so pretty...makes me wanna relax too...*sigh* i'll try hanging in there for a few more months...
@kidosho34 just because your hair doesn't look long doesnt mean it isnt...there are ways to stretch natural hair to look longer without heat and with heat...people go natural for more than just long hair also. at the end of the day, it's up to each person, what they want for their hair and how much effort they feel like putting into it. Don't stay natural because you feel you have to! You have options to wear you hair natural or relaxed and it's YOUR choice, your hair!
We are hair TWINS! I'm not allowed to relaxers anymore while I live with my mom, because my hair got really messed up by it before. Maybe I use too much. Can't wait to se your results..I'm subscribing.
But sometimes there comes a point when you can't big chop after your hair falls out...you could end up like me with traction alopecia and hair can't grow back. I didn't know better but with all the info available now we should all know better. I'm not knocking you, do what makes you happy but it might come with a price...I am bald at the crown of my head...i wish i had my hair back...
Hi.. I just saw this vid and part two. The same thing happened to my hair. I'm not even going to tell you what I had to do to get it fully relaxed but it took months of crazyness. I will say that I had to change to a lye relaxer. I think your hair looks wonderful:)
have you used home relaxer kits before. u did't seem to put enough of the relaxer on your hair idk i'm no expert anyway can't wait to see the results.
@theredeemed22 Yes I have applied countless home relaxers. The instructions said to first apply the relaxer to the hair shaft 1/2- 1 inch away from the roots and 1/2 - 1 inch away from the ends. And then to go back and apply it to the entire hair strand. But I have a big head and alot of thick hair so I started to run low early and the simply was not enough, I should have bought two boxes for the amount of hair I was perming

Tasha, somehow I missed your last phrase which indicates that u desire for your hair to appear longer. Therefore please ignore my question as to whether or not u wish for your hair to appear longer. Still, the statements which I made regarding the ability of natural hair to appear, as well as be longer - with the application of good hair care techniques and patience - still apply. Again, best wishes.
@maximuslyricus You didnt miss it, I added it for clarification on my phone, but wasnt at my computer to reply to comments. Thanks for the comment, I haven't had that big of a problem retaining length in my life relaxed or natural, but I have alot of thick hair and it took so much time to handle it gently only for it to look like my hair was short when I knew it wasnt. And though this contradicts what many people say, I rather perm the do a blow out everytime I want to show length
and healthy. I anticipate that by the time I reach the end of year two, my natural hair will appear - as well as be - much longer that my relaxed hair ever did and was. At any rate, u also said that u'll likely change your mind again in the future. Just in case u ever decide to go natural again, I want u to know that with good hair care techniques and patience, it is likely that your natural hair can actually be and appear longer than your relaxed hair. Best wishes with your relaxed hair.
in its natural state in just one year than it ever did in all the years I was relaxed. I consider my hair to be regular, 4b hair - hair no better, nor any worse than anyone else's. Therefore, I assume that most people cud achieve the same results. Actually, when I no-heat stretch my single 2 strand twists and take them loose, my hair appears just as long as it did when I was relaxed, and it also looks a lot more thick
Good Morning Tasha. In the description box, u say u're relaxing because u desire longer hair. Do u mean u want your hair to appear longer, u want your hair to be longer, or both? I ask because I know that straight hair appears longer than curly hair. So if it's appearance u're after, u may have made the right choice. As regarding actual length, my own personal experience is that my hair has retained greater length
I thought about relaxin my hair 1day lol but i remember wat dat relaxer did to my hair da last time i let somebody perm my hair...dats da only reason i want relax my hair again..But i dnt hate dat u relax yo hair imma still watch yo videos n support...!!! :)
@boogeeass Yeah, you have to do what works for you and if a relaxer damaged my hair, then I would probably turn to thermal alternatives, but I never had major damage with a relaxer
Awe, your natural hair was soooo pretty. I was like Nooooo, don't do it girl! I have not seen all of your videos yet, but did you consider silk pressing (a type of flat ironing) or straightening your hair before relaxing? I have 4c/cnapp texture and the 1st year natural was a Pain, but the 2nd year is better, my hair is thick, healthy, and growing longer each month. When I get frustrated with my hair, I have a professional silk press it and it lasts for 2-weeks (looks relaxer straight).
@PetUniqueLLC I agree with your comment! But sometimes you want an immediate change without the cost too! I am getting Sisterlocks. But Tasha will be fine it is her hair and she did what she could keep up with so we shall see.
@PetUniqueLLC Thank you for admiring my natural hair, I loved it at times, but I was ready for another change. Yeah I consider professional straightening and this may sound stupid, but I did not like the amount of heat that they used in the videos I watched so I decided against it.
I'm sorry, but she looks like Miss. J from America's Next Top Model..... SORRY! But sad you relaxed your hair :( Good luck :)
