Just watching this show brought tears to my eyes. I loved these shows as a child growing up in the '80s. I remember staying home from school when i was sick and I was excited to watch this and Pinwheel. Thanks for the memories.
im a 30 year old grown man and i started crying when i saw this. this show use to be my favorite when i was 4. i told my twin brother about a show we use to watch about a manakin coming to life and he didnt believe me when he saw it it all came back
do you have this taped from long ago? Where can it be watched on tv, if at all? apparently petitions were created to get this on dvd, but so far no go...... thanks sooooo much for uploading!
There is a Bring Back Today's Special Page on Facebook trying to get these released on dvd. I'll send you a link for it & maybe you could post under the Today's Special Videos together we may make it happen. For others just go on Facebook & Search Bring Back Today's Special & join Thanks...
If Crandall J. Crummington is the stores night manager as Jeff mentioned at 1:50, I wonder who the store's morning manager is since I'm sure he/she is probably a lot nicer than Crandall J. Crummington where probably both the morning manager and Crandall J. Crummington would probably have an argument whether Jeff, Jodie, Sam, and Muffy would be allowed to stay in the store or not.
So Sam was born in 1919. That would make him 65 in 1984. I'd say if it was real life , his days as a security guard would've been long behind him by now as he would be turning 91 in 2010. And as for TXL, that computer would be so out of date now that it would've been replaced at least by the year 1994 as the Internet started to become a more widely used thing. I wonder if Sam would've snatched her from the dumpster? Of course he would , they're like best friends! At age 75 in 1994 he'd need help

I have thought about this show so much through the years and tried so hard to remember it and being able to see it now has been a joy. Thank you so much!
I agree. For the show, I thought it would've been nice if the director of the show made either Jeff, Jodie, Sam, or Muffy say that they're going to report Mr. Crummington to whoever hired him as the store manager since I'm sure in real life, if a store manager was spying on employees and customers, business would not go very well in that store. (Mr. Crummington would've probably gotten fired soon for acting rude to employees and customers).
i'm 25 and i feel like im 5 again!!!!! this, the elephant show and sesame street were my favourite shows, does anyone know if this was ever released on dvd??????
dude..this show rocks. lol one of the first things I did when I moved to toronto is go to the store where it was filmed...now, I work in the same building where they shot on sets. lol
I'll ad mine to yours. This same department store was also location shooting for Short Circuit 2. If you look at the department store scene, you will recognize the same famous window as from the Today's Special series.

Bleep sounds like a damaged cassette. Way too much flanging (for those who are music lovers). Also, why does that sound like it's underwater?

Don't forget Defacely Marmeister from Hammerman :P
Though I had no idea Stocker was slightly shorter than both of them.

Parts of this show were filmed in Simpson's flagship store at Yonge & Queen Sts., in Toronto, Canada.
The Simpson's chain was bought out by the Hudson's Bay Company, in the 1980s, and all Simpson's stores were turned into Bay stores.
