I love these guys every song of theirs has grown on me and as a whole I think their one of the strongest shoegaze bands out there even thow they began drifting away from that genre in their later albums.
terrible? are you kidding me? while I agree this song could be considered their zenith point, both their first two albums, nowhere and going blank again, are filled with jewels.
Top tune, thanks for posting.I have been a Baggy/Madchester type bender, and this song and Dreams Burn Down (wish youtube had a better version) really hit hard. Please don't stop doing you magic Mark.
Shoegaze may be made out to be all about guitars and vocals, but that rhythm section is the tightest and most intense I've heard in years. That bass work blows me away. Shame the only releases I can find by the group are terrible compared to this.
This is my favorite Ride song of all time; I think it epitomizes what--to my mind--they were trying to do. The song centers around the driving baseline; Loz's drumming is amazing as usual; the guitars are psychedelic swirling and etherial; and the vocals convey a genuine sense of longing and beauty...
I had this on tape when it came out. A massively underrated band along with Downface..

oh yeah like i dreamed a band with three guitarists one making "noise" rythm and lead, and of course a TIGHT bass and drum to keep them together

Find "Nowhere" on Vinyl and listen to Seagull, it will melt your face. Their other music is far from terrible.
