to me it seems like u put the fondant on top of the mold then u put it on to your cake.

you can do the pin prick method. Where you trace your image, with a pin, to leave little prick marks in the fondant, then go over it with piping.

Both, it depends...in a simple sketch and form i do it directly, in a more technical design i use a trick that i will explain in future videos. Tks for the reply.
