The same things that people told you about Art is what my parents tell me about Psychology. They say I'll never find a job, I'll never be able to make enough money, there's no demand for psychologists (not psychiatrists) etc. But despite what they- and even some of my teachers (for they have told me the same thing) think, I'm going to live out my dream. I want to follow my dreams of being a singer. I know that I have talent, but I always feel like I'm not good enough. I know that so many people in the world were blessed with amazing voices, but it's hard for my to except that I could be one of those people. I just don't think I'm that special. Plus I probably couldn't get very far with a singing career. i'm scared to move forward. I've been bullied a lot in school, so i always put myself down. I'm sad :(

@buhedwen There are actually a lot of people like her and actually try to spread their happiness/optimism but not many would love to listen to people who are not pretty/popular/kind/"sexy" etc or just that sparkle in them. ik this cuz i've seen it. one quick example is Religion. there are many Religions that teach you to be positive/happy but not many listen to them. Now dont get me wrong, im agnostic, but im a good listener and i listen to those who r ignored the most nd get a lot from them Lol

I think this is really good! And it's really good that you're doing this helping people. I agree with 90% of what you said, I just have a different view on expectations. Expecting an A but getting a B is fine; shoot for the stars! Expecting to fail and getting a C is the worst, because expecting to fail means investing no confidence in yourself, and if you lower expectations to avoid being disappointed you'll find yourself lowering your effort as well, which can be a rather destructive habit...

Thank you very much for this video, my university situation was very simmilar to yours. I got a computer science degree, because I was worried my parents would be upset if I chose to do art, but it made me miserable in the end.
But now I'm working towards being an illustrator, and it's so much easier to get out of bed each morning. X3

Expecting an A but getting a B is fine; shoot for the stars! Expecting to fail and getting a C is the worst, because expecting to fail means investing no confidence in yourself, and if you lower expectations to avoid being disappointed you'll find yourself lowering your effort as well, which can be a rather destructive habit...

Thank you very much for this video, my university situation was very simmilar to yours. I got a computer science degree, because I was worried my parents would be upset if I chose to do art, but it made me miserable in the end.
