  • great performance, but where is emotion?

  • Added this to my Rev. Etude playlist..

  • Crisp and clear. You make this look too easy. You're just too laid back...lol

Very nice video, playing, audio, and visual. Perfect!

  • Reminds me of Tom And Jerry!

  • bravo...i must get one too. thansk for sharing..the sound quality is really good, time to chuck out my hatachi disc cam...

  • Nice performance, and I was looking for a decent recording format example to get a better ear on the H4n, so thanks alot for your video,

  • sounds cool, if you use the 4 track and place them in different parts of the piano that will be so freakin AWESOME, great skills by the way.

  • AhdaMusic which one produce the best sound H4N or Zoom Q3 or they are the same ??????????????, what do you think guys????

  • I would put my life on the H4n

  • If you recorded the audio on the Zoom, how did you get it so closely synced with the video? What tools did you use for that? Brilliant piano technique!

  • @LoveMyPadres Probably just did the good old CLAP and edited that part out of the final video. That's usually how you sync vid and audio :)

  • @LoveMyPadres Usually people make some loud noise, which is how the clapper board was invented.when you plug in the camera and zoom you can see a big noise on the levels and you sync from there.

  • yes Asians are awesome 'cause it's said that they are the first order of inter mix with extraterrestrials. it's also why most of them are short, with a big head and funny eyes! nothing wrong with that I wish I were Asian. A bigger brain too!

  • What a brilliant technique !

  • 3 people are deaf

  • Magnificent!

  • Awesome!

  • you don't have a note of musicality. I don't ask a musical phrase, a note. You're worst than a robot

  • @newFranzFerencLiszt

    What a load of b(o)ll(o)cks!!

    Lets see you perform!

  • @corvettecentral his skill is amazing, his technique exceptional. But we are just saying it isn't that nice to listen to. Sounds quite like a computer, which can play it even faster :)

  • Nice nice !

I use my self a ZOOM Q3, but may I ask you what settings to use to have a GOOD record, with good quality, and not such a soft sound what I got now :(

so what settings are recommanded for the ZOOM Q3 for Piano ?

  • The quality of musicianship you possess is very impressive! thanks for the review.

  • Mario castle music

  • For those who said that the H4n sounded better (by a very small margin)

I guess that this is due to the positioning of the 2 devices.

The H4n is tilted down, aiming at the strings and capturing the hammers.

Whether the Q3 is vertical, pointing at the back lid, and will capture all the signal rebound fromt he wall, wooden lid and empty space.

I think they have the same audio, same processing, the H4n is just more dedicated, with special effects and editing tools. Just my 2 cents

  • @JoeHannouch You are mistaken, they are both correctly positioned towards the piano and not the lid. Look up the Q3 in a photo or something (try Google), its meant to be "handy" and held vertically thus the mics are pointing out from that vertical position the same way the mics are from the H4n meant to be positioned layed down. Look up the Q3 as you should have before commenting, the top of the recorder has plastic blocking the mics anyway, its meant to be vertical for same mic pattern.. .

  • @OSGondar I agree with you and i thank you.

I do own both devices and i know how they work.

I was just pointing out how the Zoom Q3 was positioned vertically, giving the microphones a perfect 90 degree angle, compared to the "slight" tilt in the H4N for about 30 degrees pointing at the strings. Hence the H4N will pick up more hammer action sound, and the Q3 will pick up more "room" feel sound.

The Q3 could also have been placed on a table top tripod and tilted 30 degrees for the same result.

  • @JoeHannouch You're welcome and yes those few degrees are probably worth it however i I suspect that if it was two H4n with that same offset you would hardly notice due to the way the wavs bounce around in that setup ie piano in the corner of the room and that particular distance from strings facing the lid etc.

I would also like to add wow, nice fast reply lol. I am in nyc and it was closer to 7am when i wrote that lol. Good Morning! I'm nearly never up this early!

  • @OSGondar Haha no worries, i agree with your post concerning 2 H4N, noting that H4N has 2 stereo micing positions (90 and 120 degrees), so that would give significantly different results.

I live in the Mediterranean and it was around 2:30pm when i replied back! :D

  • I wanted to buy the H4N and looking for reviews and found yours here, your performance is absolutely stunning, more stunning that the review itself here, thanks for everything!

  • LOL...Who cares about the sound comparison ? I'm loving the performance !

JK, I have the H4n. I'll have to DL and see which one sounded better.

  • How can one not appreciate this very talented pianist, especially compared to the likes of the crap of pop culture. Keep it up my friend..

  • you are a...machine

  • Great quality and great playing!

  • hahahahahahaha Not WALL-E

  • we asian are just too awesome XD

  • @nazigoreng asians are gay and annoying lol

  • @rubent100

    You're an ass, lol.

  • @nazigoreng hehe I agree, and Im Greek lol Though when it comes to music.. there are incredible musicians of all races, though unfortunately we see the stereotype Asian performer playing technically brilliant, yet soul-less pieces. We know the type, the kid who has been made to play from 1 year old, and is a master by 6. hehe. No offense intended because this happens with many cultures :)

  • can u tell me ur settings please? I would like to have the same sound of yours!

  • I listened to your Zoom Q3, there was some clipping at the first note you played oh? Is it because the gain is too high on the Q3? The H4n has a much clearer sound and the recorded sound does sound more like the actual sound. Thanks for the great test, made me clear up some stuffs. (:

  • Lol... not Wall -E.. nice playing!

  • How did you get the volume so high that close to the strings? My level drops to like 40 or 30 that close... and then When I play it back it is really not that loud...

  • wow great playing! amazing technique ;)

haha the speech bubbles are funny :D

  • Remarkable virtuosity!

  • Does your recorder speed up your video. You're playing this awfully fast; like you're in a hurry or something. lol but I love it. Very nicely done. One poster is actually speechless he/she said. lol

  • You make this look so easy. Wonderful video. I have the same piano a 6.5 foot. Only you play alot better than I. I want to post me playing this, but it sux compared to yours. You make me look so inadequate. You can tell by my piano channel below. You made me speechless! I couldn't even speak properly. lol

Thanks for posting. This is one of my fav since the piano is like mine and this is what it should sound like. lol

  • I love this video. Not only is the play superb and the piano beautiful, but the sound and picture quality are phenomenal!

This is the perfect video. LOVE it!

  • @lllllllllllllll88 - playINg (grammical correction)

  • @lllllllllllllll88 - grammatical (another correction.. .lol) No speak'a inglish well.

    ( :

    lol

  • I download the sound files and i don`t see any diference between the H4n and the Q3. I'm interesting to buy an audio recorder for use without computer or other mic condenser, and the q3 looks a good choice, and comes with a video option (not very good, of corse, but in use for youtube).

For record my ukulele and my voice, i think the audio don't have diference,.

  • @fabiopontarolo1 are you using regular computer speakers to listen to the files or reference monitors? I can tell a huge difference in the two different files, the h4n has more lows and more clean shimmering highs. I couldn't tell on regular computer speakers until I tried listening with my studio monitors, then it was hard not to notice, the H4n audio is pristine!

  • not wall-e :)) good one. just got my zoom h-4 N and I love it. great video.

  • Technically outstanding and absolutely great, but no good interpretation at all. Where's the emotion and expression? Can you play such a piece, that was written because the polish people fought for their independence, so emotionlessly? What a pity. :-/

  • So which was better do you think ? Zoom Q3 ?

  • very beautiful playing!!! i also have the Q3, and wow what a difference! makes you feel like you're there. again, great playing, very beautiful. the piano is such a soul-touching instrument.

  • wow.
