The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Graphics Problems

I NEED HELP!!! I've installed TES4: Oblivion yesterday and when I stared a new game the "most" of the game was white. I could only "see/make out" outlines of items and furniture, eyes, mouth and some items of NPCs. Also when I tried to open my journal or enter my inventory the game chrashed.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

What is your video card? If you don't have enough texture memory sometimes textures don't load.

you have a out of order mod blocking others change the order of the mods loaded and it should help... if not you must of over lapped a mesh and texture file... only thing to do is trial and error with the mods you use.

my graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430...probably the worst card for oblivion ever......i can't wait to get a nvidia 9800 version in 2 months

I've got the same problem , I just booted it up one , day and It look just like yours. It looked like otter shit when that happened. My copy of Oblivion then suffered an even worse fate. It just stoped working , I would start the game , load my Save then it just crashed. But then out of a mircule , I re-installed it and i ran like the 1st day i bought it.

ok well , are you runnng oldblivion? i get that on oldblivion alot if your not runnoing that then maybe graphics is sketchy... see i run that graphics on oldblivion cuz it crashes if i dont... but its cuz the fps *frames per second* isnt very high press on ~ key *yes the cheating key* and at the top right it will say your fps it does that if it gets to low. * free up some space on c drive* or if not that then its graphics card? o.o

When I installed the akatosh mounts the first time it screwed up all the textures and everything went pink... I reinstalled oblivion and it was fine again.

dude that could just be your graphics card (yeah i read that you updated it) thats what the graphics look like on very low detail too.

I know how to fix! I just fixed mine...

You first have to uninstall, then go to "My dokuments". You will notice that a new folder have been added called "My Games"

Inside that folder there is another folder called "Oblivion" delete this and then install your game.

ahh...that reminds me of when i first got the game...my pc was still stock then so i had to run it on the lowest settings (looked the exact same as that - had to choose very low on startup menu...)

would suck to have to go back to playing it that way again...

lol tht happened to me once! everything was so plain i decided to put all the graphix things on very low and it looked as tho i was playing TES 1: Arena and TES 2: Daggerfall :P tht'll teach me to install the Super Mod mod :P!

tried that. oh btw when i went to the construction set, the game looked perfect. the lighting was great and everything.

Try unpacking the Texture and Mesh BSA archives. If nothing else that should fix it.

i would NOT recommend this card. i would recommend an ATI 2600XT 256mb or higher.

its much better and the 6150se is just really bad when it comes to oblvion, cod4, and all those other games

I had that thing where there was like a skin over the landscape, too, (around 2:30). I think what i did was that i used oblivion on another user account on the comp and i copied the save files. I belive that they are in C:\Documents and Settings somewhere.

dxlevel 70 means directX level 70
